Requesting Multiple DAS cards (?) and a few other questions

We are going to WDW in August and I have a few questions about the DAS card. We have two children with special needs, although different issues. My older son is more severe.

(1) We would like to request that each child has their own DAS card. Will Guest Services issue each child their own DAS card? I ask because my kids like to go on totally different rides, and we often split up into smaller groups.

(2) Has anyone been successful in lately getting those readmit passes? My older son likes to ride certain rides over and over again, and in the past it wasn't a problem with the GAC, but I heard from someone you could request a special readmit card for that? How does that work?

(3) Any other tips?

Yes, each child should be issued his/her own card. However, Guest Relations will split your party size across the 2 cards. If you are a party of 4, it will be 2+2, if you are a party of 5 it will be 2+3, if you are a party of 6 you may need to decide whether to split evenly or how would work best for your family.

To my knowledge, re-admits are not standard accommodation for guests with disabilities. When the DAS was first introduced, they were being used in limited fashion for some needs, but I believe that practice was discontinued several months ago. It is recommended to use the DAS along with scheduled FP+ to get multiple rides with short wait between.

Re-admit cards were never part of the disability accommodations, they were actually a tool used by CMs to give pixie dust to guests when something un magical happened, like a ride breaking down. When the GAC went away, CMs started giving re-ads to disabled guests to kind of help them during the transition to the new DAS program. Re-ads are not done anymore now that the DAS has been around for a while. Your son can ride the same ride over and over but he won't be permitted to cut in line ahead of other guests who have been waiting in line..however you can get a return time for the ride so let's say he rides the ride, then he wants to ride again, you'll get a return time for however long the line is- if there is 40 minutes worth of people waiting in line, he will be told he can come back and ride in 30 minutes. They do it this way now so that disabled guests have closer to an equal experience tourng the parks as non-disabled guests have. However getting return times is a little bit of a bonus because he can do other things while waiting for his turn since he's not stuck waiting in the actual line.

We were able to get paper passes similar to re-admits just last month. However, what we found most helpful was morning EMH. Most rides were walk-on or had very little wait. We don't repeat rides, but it would've been possible during that first hour for many attractions.

In regards to riding certain rides multiple times, we experienced the best luck combining the DAS with FP+. DD's favorite ride is Splash Mountain. We were able to work 2 rides in back to back by getting a DAS return time (wait time for Splash was 40 minutes), going to ride BTMRR (which had a posted standby time of 20 minutes, but was really less than 15), riding Splash with our FP+ time, then riding Splash again with the DAS. Going for rope drop and on recommended days were crucial.

You just need to get one at the beginning of your trip. They will ask how many days you will be there and make the DAS for the length of the trip (I believe there is a maximum of 14 days).

You do not need a new DAS every day or for every park.
The DAS will be dated to cover your length of stay up to 14 days ( up to 60 days for guests with annual passports) and you csn use it at any theme park.

As the other posters mentioned, re-adRmit passes were never meant to be part of the DAS program. They were meant to be a transition tool or 'bridge' as guests learned how to use DAS

Both of my girls have DAS cards and they each have 6 on them. Actually we are only a party of 3 but maybe because we have annual passes they always make them both for 6.

During EMH we were often told we could ride something multiple times. They were not the headliners, but rides that were not full capacity right away. We did triceratop spin many times in a row as the cm saw my daughter giggle and laugh the entire time. I would never expect this but it was a nice surprise.

We were issued four separate cards for each of them and our family is a total of seven (mom and dad, grown daughter, and the four little ones ranging in age from 2 - 13). Each DAS card had "seven" on it. Fastpass plus was not available to us then, as it was just starting and we were not on property last year. But the legacy Fastpass system was available. We used that, and actually only used a DAS card about four times the whole week. Twice we used it for Dumbo, as it always had a longer line and all four of mine like to ride it. We had a very pleasant trip, and did not find that the change from GAC to DAS affected us too much. Yes, we waited a bit longer than the old system, but it wasn't anything my kids couldn't handle.

That means the number in the party are now divided up between the cards if more than one person in the party is issued a DAS.

Sometimes mom rides with two boys (who can do more things), sometimes dad rides with older three and mom waits with baby (2 yr old), and sometimes mom is with only one son and others wait. And who rides what and with whom depends on the attraction, accessibility, restrictions, etc. of course, the child riding will always have his/her DAS. I am going to assume given that all the DAS cards are for children, and only two adults will be present, that they will put six on each card. If not, we may have a problem figuring out which card needs to have x number of people on it! That would be confusing!

The simplest thing would be to put 3 on each DAS.

If each child has a DAS and they add at least one for an adult riding with them, every ride they go on they have their pass and one of you is covered assuming the other is staying with the other kids. If you are all riding then you are more than covered. As long as each child riding has their DAS and they add an extra person you all should be fine. You'll just have to get times on enough cards to cover all of you who are riding or just get for each child riding.

I suspect they will make each card for a party of 2 -- covering the child who owns the DAS plus a parent. Anytime more than 1 child is riding, you would simply get the same return time on multiple DAS cards (each child's own card).

I'm sure they will have a way to work it out. If you find whatever they provide isn't working, return and speak to them again about the challenges.

Not sure if it's because we have annual passes but when we renewed in April both girls DAS say 6 on them.
