Hello all, We are very excited to be heading to the YC on 6/22. We get there late afternoon and were thinking that a light supper at the Crew's Cup might be nice. Does anyone know their hours and when they begin serving food? Thanks, Toni

I think noon. :-)

We ate there in April for the first time and really liked it. The CMs were awesome! Enjoy.

Live update: we had a glorious day at SAB yesterday! Not too crowded. But crowded enough that our kids could play a pick-up game of volleyball. Lunch from Hurricane Hanna's was delicious. I even ran into a longtime friend at SAB....her and her family is staying at BCV this week. After swimming I finally got a chance to talk with Teena!!!! We had a very enjoyable chat! Then we were off to MGM (sorry, I'm old school). The crowds there were fabulous! We rode Star Tours, TSM, ToT (all with FP's) GMR, One Man's Dream (this was a first for me) and single rider RNR. We spent less than three hours there! MK had evening EMH until 2am last night so when were were done at MGM we headed over there.

We dined to the chart busting tunes of Sonny Eclipse. MK was crowded and raining so we walked over to Buzz where in line my husband googles how to get 999,999 and he proceeded to get it! Well, that threw the rest of us into a major tizzy because we wanted that score too. After riding a gazillion more times, we gave up on our high score quest and decided to take lots of fun ride photos on Buzz. It took my son 20 times but he finally got his 999,999 score! Fortunately the girls and I had moved on well before that! We ran into my SIL and her family so we did a few attractions with her and her family including their inaugural ride on Dumbo! This family goes to WDW every year but has never ridden Dumbo! The line for SDMT was insane but the wait for the Frozen sisters was only 30. We didn't do either one. Instead we rode the carousel and HM.

One interesting item to note.....as we were eating ice cream on Main St at 1:30am, the Kiss Goodnight happened. The Kiss Goodnight occurs about 90 minutes after park closing and the colors change on the castle and a voice comes over the loudspeaker wishing everyone had a magical day and a good night. I was shocked to see it occur during EMH!

Did we make it until 2am? Almost....1:45am. It's now 11:17am and both girls are still asleep. I got up an hour ago as to not miss breakfast.

Our next door neighbors have a baby who cries incessantly every morning at 7:30. And the dad talks so flipping loud I can hear him thru the walls. I've never ever heard a neighbor thru the walls here before.

Talk to ya later!

Ai yi yi!! Sonny Eclipse!!! I have ALL of his albums! (I'm his Biggest fan) Sometimes, when no one is at home I slap on my giant furry eyebrows and pretend I'm doing my Sonny lounge routine at my kitchen counter keyboard.

Sure, my trip is April 29th 2015 for 3 nights. Will be a split stay, but very excited to be staying at a deluxe resort after normally staying only at moderates. Haven't picked out the other few days of the split stay will decide soon.

I am very liberal with allowing off topic posts- this group has a lot of Disney, and other, knowledge so I don't have a problem with questions/info not directly related to the resort. Especially since it helps me too!

I hope nobody took my comment as a critiscm. It was not intended that way only an acknowledgement that I was off topic, but couldn't resist thanking the OP for the info.

I'm sorry if these answers are posted somewhere, but I don't get on here as much as I wish I could these days!

We will be headed to YC soon and am wondering if we can bring our own floaties for SB...specifically noodles, tubes and blow up beach balls? Also, is there an issue with a clamp on umbrella that is small to put on my lounge chair?

We will be staying Standard as that is what our Magical deal is for in August. This is our first time at BC, does anyone have any recommendations for either rooms or phrasing of requests that either may get us a glimpse at Epcot or a partial view of something other than a parking lot or roof? Don't get me wrong we will be happy with whatever we get and I know I can't expect a lot with Standard, but didn't know if there were some better room areas in this category compared to others. We could go either way on balcony. Thanks!

I think that a request to be close to Epcot would give you the best chance of being able to see Spaceship Earth. You can't really see the parking lot very well from the resort, since it is set back behind trees. But the roof is there. ;)

Pfft. You didn't make it until 2am. :sad2: ;) I'm totally hoping to make it that late, but I have my 9-year-old DD who likes her set bedtime. Ugh! I may have to be one of "those" moms and force her to stay... :scared:

I did not take it as a criticism. I was just trying to reassure you, and everyone, that it is fine to go a little bit off topic here.

arm floaties on toddlers, or tubes that totally encircle infants and small toddlers- ok, as long as an adult is within arms length.

Noodles- ok

outside tubes- not allowed. The resort discontinued the policy of charging for tubes- they are now, for better or worse, free floating in the pool

ETA: There are also life vests available poolside to borrow, free of charge.

beach balls- good question. I don't know! Anyone?

:thumbsup2

Sandy, it's all good here, not like other places on the Dis. You are very welcome to hang out with us and we look forward to your contributions.

Hanging on some of the other areas on the Dis is like being a puppy and you are constantly on the look out for a rolled up newspaper to come along and smack you on the nose for no apparent reason. It's not like that here. We are all friendly and we like to help each other as much as possible, in as many ways as possible.

So relax, get out the blender and whip up a Sunken Treasure:

Sunken Treasure- recipe by medicgirl177
1 1/2 shots Midori
1 shot Malibu Coconut Rum
1 shot orange juice
1 shot pineapple juice
Sprite or 7-Up to fizzy taste
1 shot Blue Curaçao
Over ice
Dress with Pineapple slice, cherry, or umbrella

And join us for some Dis Boards Beach Club/Yacht Club/ Beach Club Villas fun!

Live at Beach Club! Had the honor of meeting Teena today!! Teena I cannot thank you enough for having the sunburn cream sent up! We were really in some pain and it helped so much! We stopped to say thank you just now before heading out to Hollywood but you were helping other guests. Beach Club is so lucky to have you! Thank you again and hope you, your daughter, and Princess Lily have a fantastic time at Typhoon in August! :)

Ooh!! And I managed to have a couple sunken treasures at hurricane Hannah's today. YUMMMM!!

We start at YC, but our first day we always go to MK, so that won't change. :) The second day the kids have surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon, then we booked breakfast at Cape May. For the rest of the day we don't have any plans so we might pop into Epcot when the mood strikes. For our last 4 days at YC we plan to hit HS, Epcot, and AK, with going to dinner at Epcot a couple of those nights. We also plan to go to either Il Miluno or Shula's for dinner one night.

Once we get to GF we have no plans, so far! We hope to watch wishes from there, and on our last day go to MK as per our tradition. This will be the first time we just wing it so hopefully it will work out for us. We don't have the dining plan, but when I check periodically on line for reservations on any given day, there are enough places available that I would be happy with. Plus we always say we need to eat more counter service in Epcot, we always want to but never do since we only go there once or twice. So we will have the opportunity this time! :)

That's all we have plans for so far. Once I have to book our fast passes where we will be on any given day will be more defined, but subject to change!:rotfl:

We plan to hop in and out of Epcot too for counter service around the world! It's hard to plan our trip when we dont know yet EMH or park hours or weather. It's hard to plan a water park day for January when you dont know what weather you're going to get. We typically go to DHS in the evenings since that park is a lot of fun for us at night, so we may hit AK in the morning, pool then DHS. We stayed POR last year so we just stuck to a park per day and it was simple that way. Now with easy transportation (walking or monorail) and hoppers there are so many options! If you firm any plans up I hope you can share.

Sorry! Wanted to add one more thing: My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Shula's over at Dolphin last night. It was absolutely fantastic and I cannot say enough about the food, service, and ambiance. It was such an easy walk from BC. If anyone is looking for a nice place for dinner, put this on the list.

Just checking in to let everyone know how we are enjoying our stay. To be honest, I think I made a big mistake by booking the YC...we'll never want to go back to a value ever. :rotfl:
Couldn't be more pleased with the resort, the staff, the pool, the food. Everything has exceeded our expectations. There was a minor hiccup upon check in with our room, but Brittani in the Regatta club went out of her way to fix it for us. We are in a room that shares the super large balcony overlooking the front entrance. I thought we may not enjoy the shared balcony, but it's really been a non issue.
You guys weren't exaggerating about the intoxicating smell of the lobby, it's so delightful. It's quite possible we've found our Disney home.
Thank you all for the wonderful information and advice, we are so glad we gave it a try! :worship: :worship:
