You bet your aft we had a good time! A Wonder trip report Update 12/30 p.59-611

The sunrise was a lovely view to wake up to. I was like Josh about the Federales the first time I saw them, but now it just seems normal.:rotfl:

That ball saga just sucks! And how sweet is your Joshua to take the news of a lost ball so well.

Great start to the day. All those cruise ships!
Lovely pictures of the sunrise and the day.

It really was stunning. :cloud9: I felt so crazy blessed with our cabin and that view.

I feel the same about the Federales. I've been to Mexico so many times, I don't think twice but to experience it with someone for the first time, I understand how unnerving it is.

Agreed. The ball saga was a joke. Nobody knew nothing. :rolleyes1 He's a really an even tempered kid. :goodvibes

Cozumel was just gorgeous in the morning light.

That ball saga really stinks. I love the sunrise. We have only ever been to Chankanaab in Cozumel and love it. I am looking forward to see something different in your report.

The ball thing sucks. Do you have TSA locks on the suitcases? I always lock my suitcases now because we lost a CD player on our Celebrity cruise many years ago. I was more passed about my LE Arturo Sandoval CD than the player itself.

Beautiful sunrise! That's why I must have a verandah on cruises! I can't wait for our cruise next year!

I think we were near Chankanaab. That might have been the pic of the ruins but I am not sure.

Nachi was lovely. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the day in Mexico. It was expensive; $55 for adults and $35 for Joshua's age.

TSA didn't take it. The ball made it to Florida. :sad1: I don't have locks. We stayed the night at our friends' house and the ball was in his suitcase. I can blame TSA for many snafus over the years but not for this. ;) This was someone at Port or with Disney.

The view was incredible. Not sure if we were port or starboard but for the Mexico cruise we're opposite but still aft. We loved being aft. I found that gentle rocking at night to work better than any Melatonin. :cloud9:

::yes:: Our cruise is going to be a blast! There is already an FB page too. For now I am going to do the FE but may change my mind. I really like the way Pam did hers on our cruise. She spoiled us rotten! Had I been able to concentrate on just a few people I could have done the same but I found 11 cabins to be a lot. I had 40 people in my group. We received some truly amazing gifts. I think I'd rather give better gifts to less people this time around; maybe people I have connected with. But heck with Pam, you, and Fran along with my party of 5, that may be my FE group right there. LOL!

I'm not saying the TSA took it. I'm just saying if you don't lock your suitcase, every person that handles it could potentially help themselves to anything inside. But if you send your bags through an airport and use anything besides TSA approved locks they cut the locks off. Anyone at the port could have helped themselves to Joshua's ball, and since it was such a nice one they probably did.

I think you are right, my guess is it was someone at Port too. I am going to look into TSA approved locks. It was a bummer to not have that ball, to have to go through everything to make sure we didn't have the ball, and then to have to deal with multiple phone calls afterwards.

But have faith friends, Disney apologized in true Disney fashion. While they did not replace the ball they were not totally dismissive of the issue at hand. pixiedust:

That totally sucks about the ball! I'm so sorry.

I remember landing in Germany for the first time and seeing the Polizei with their Uzis...it became old hat after that. :)

Looks like a beautiful day in Cozumel!

Jill in CO

Beautuful morning pictures! Gorgeous water pictures!!! Oh to be swimming right about now :cloud9:

The business with the ball is so bizarre. Josh was such a trooper.

I'll try to start the Mothers Day trip tomorrow night. Leaving for the wedding Saturday, its in the afternoon.

It really was perfect Jill, not too hot or humid but warm enough to swim for sure. The water at Nachi was so warm. :lovestruc

Police, guns, whatever. :rotfl2:

Warm water sounds fabulous right now!

I agree, the whole ball thing was just odd. :confused3

Excellent! Can't wait to read it and see all of your order full photos. :cool1:

Fun! How long is your trip?

I remember seeing the mexican federal police a few times well I was on the 2008 Panama Canal, they didn't really do much. On the other hand the police in Cartagena Colombia were checking poels bags as we went to board the ship. Someone in line behind asked if it was legal and I turned to them and said "were in their country and I'm not going to question a police officer with a machine gun about what's legal and what's not."

Alison-
I have the TSA locks but never use them. I sort of figure that couldn't a handler (anywhere) have a key and unlock them, just like the TSA do?
We are going to Barcelona this fall, so may have to lock those bags up!

I've been to Cartagena and I think you made the right choice. :thumbsup2 I wouldn't question them either. I didn't even see police at the port in Cozumel. They weren't checking anybody if they were there.

You're right. Anyone could have one of those TSA keys, but I figure it adds an extra layer of security just in case they don't. Seems the TSA looks in most of my bags on every trip. I wonder what they think when they find a big hunk of frozen meat! :rotfl2:

This trip the locks are coming in double handy because we put them on our scooter bags, so when we don't want to bring the fancy cameras on rides at keast the bags is locked. Of course nothing is stopping them from taking the whole bag off the back of the scooter!

The mexican police weren't really doing anything more than patrolling areas around the docked ships that I saw. The columbia ones were probably taking things more seriously as they don't want poel taking drugs out of the country, at least that's what my thoughts were with them searching bags.

I bet your right. I can't imagine anyone stupid enough to try but clearly people do it. Who'd want to be locked up in a Columbian jail. :scared1:

So glad. :thumbsup2 Love your reports.

Hopefully I'll have Nachi updated tonight but we've got a nutty weekend ahead. :hyper:

Happy Saturday all! :goodvibes

Only the Airport TSA have the keys to open TSA locks, no one else is supposed to have them. The people that scan and search luggage are not TSA. Also just to note Disney does say in their FAQ that you can not bring sports equipment of any kind in your luggage so my guess is that they had the ball removed if it was found and it got misplaced if it wasn't returned. https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/...plans/faqs/prohibited-items/prohibited-items/
