Pirates Cruise Review- At World's End

Nole95, May 2013:
In regards to the Pirate cruise, I highly recommend it. The kids did it on Wednesday morning and had a blast. Even though it poured on them at the beginning of the trip, they did not complain about getting soaked. Since there was no lightning, the trip continued on. The cast members were great and made sure all the kids had fun. Great way for mom and dad to have a couple hours of quiet time in the middle of the trip.

Mmrules:
Last summer I sent my sons ages 4 and 6 on this cruise and it was one of the highlights of the trip!!! The woman "pirates" were awesome! They played the parts well and made boarding the boat very easy for my boys (the 4 year old doesn't socialize easily). They heard the legend of the treasure, docked at Canada in Epcot (while it was empty) and found treasure there. THen they chased the bad pirate on their boats. They also got some "loot" when the cruise was over. It was great and I am going to sign them up again next summer when we go!!! He would love it!!!

Disneymomx7:
My kids and my grandkids have done the Albatross Cruise and LOVED it. My kids like it even better that the Pirate Cruise from the GF and my dgs said it was his favorite part of his Disney trip!!!!

Drmomof3:
My children did it in August, 2010. Jessica was 4 and Nathaniel was 6. There were plenty of "solo" children on the cruise and they both made friends. It was definitely a highlight of the trip for them and it gave me some quality time with my neglected 3rd child (he wasn't old enough).

We're moving over to the Poly for the last night of our trip so we can enjoy a late night at MK and lunch at Kona the next day before catching the ME. Would the YC CL be able to check us in to Poly? Or if we do online check in, will I have to wait in line at the Poly? It's RO so I've already paid in full and don't need anything except the room. Planning on hitting DHS in the morning, then heading to MK. Would prefer not to make a Poly pit stop.

You will have to wait on line to check in, but if you do online check-in, the process should go quickly. Are you having your luggage sent over? If so, they won't deliver it to your room without you being there - you will need to call bell services. If it's going to be a late night at MK, it will make more sense to have that all taken care of first. Just take the bus from DHS to poly, check in, get your luggage, and hop on the monorail.

Alice, you are correct, normally adults are prohibited from wearing costumes in the parks. One exception is during MNSSHP. Perhaps the 24-hours-of Disney day event also has an exception to that rule. Not sure. :)

The 24 hour event is another exception, and same rules as the Halloween party apply: eyes must be visible, no signing autographs or posing for pictures with other guests, etc.

I saw a bunch of very creative costumes on my fb newsfeed yesterday :)

at the BC that DH & I are doing a trip for our anniversary in September too! Can you add us to the September list? After much debate (we were considering AKL) we decided to try the YC September 22-26 since we know we will like being in the Epcot area. Can't wait to do F & W and we are splurging on the Wild Africa Trek.

We loved the Wild Africa Trek - great choice!!

You take the coolest trips!!!!

We have done the "real" Africa (which was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had), but the WAT is at the AK and so much fun. There were moments where it really did feel like we were back in the real thing. We actually did it on our last trip specifically to recreate the feeling without the 17 hour flight :). We felt disoriented when we finished and re-entered the park - for a few hours you really forget where you are!

Yeah, I remember reading that you had gone to the "real Africa"-- only on the Disboards would that phrase ever exist!

And Rome... your boys are getting an amazing exposure to the world!!

I second that. We did Wild Africa Trek in January and it was the highlight of our trip. It's so great seeing the animals without the rush of Kilimanjaro Safaris.

We just moved from GV CL to a regular GV room but picked up free dining. I'm trying to decide on a room request. I'd love a room in the back of the resort that overlooks either the main courtyard or the next section over (volleyball court). I would rather not be any further away from the lobby than that. Not sure how to word that. Definitely want the back of the resort if possible. Suggestions? Hope that made sense. We overlooked the quiet pool last time and it was gorgeous but a long trek to the lobby. Thanks!

I just LOVE when a trip takes real form!! I have been working on this retirement trip as if it were my full time job!! I have finally booked everything that will be happening on this trip with the exception of the Carriage Tour at the campgrounds and Cirque. I have called every other day re Carriage Tour and it isn't in the books yet... Will it be haunted or not... I want to book it either way so hopefully that will happen soon! I need to wait for DVC to release the special for Cirque (they still have summer offers up) so I can book that. I did book a Members Night at Splittsville so that should be interesting and fun! DH may want to drive a car at the speedway again... so I have to look into that. I bought the Christmas Party Tickets so we are set for that on November 10 (Marine Corps Birthday) OoohhhRahhh and Semper Fi to all the Marines out there!

Food and Wine is another thing that still has to be arranged once they begin releasing more info on that... a few things have come out, but as always it's usually August before booking events can begin. I did see that Boyz to Men, David Cook, someone from Styx and Big Voodoo Daddy will be there for the Eat To The Beat Concerts. A few of the events I wanted are coming back... so far the Parisian Breakfast and Sweet Sunday's (renamed "Sunday Morning's With...) will be returning.

Today we are under 100 days until our move to Dallas Texas! Excited YES I am!! I cannot wait to be closer to my daughter and son in law!!!

Happy Holiday Weekend to All!!

I believe I have updated the Be Our Guest list with recent changes, but there has been so much going on, I may have missed something.

Please take a moment to review your information to make sure I have it listed correctly.

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

I think we are finalized at last! Moving to BC GV CL after dance competition at Coronado. Staying 7/6-7/9

I just checked MDE online, not the app. My MagicBands are on their way. Should have them next Wednesday. Yippee! It's getting more and more real. Only 28 days from tomorrow. We are going to Disney World!
We are arriving on June 25th! :cool1:
