What else is a girl to do when she wakes up at 3:30 a.m. in another time zone?

Hi, my name is addictedtothemouse, uh, er, I mean Cindy. My addiction started...haha oh wait, sorry wrong group. As if I need help from a group like that. :snooty: Ok sometimes maybe, but not right now, not when I'm in the middle of planning not one but two Disney trips!
Anyways my title, I was on a training trip for work in Cynthia's (eandesmom) beautiful state of Washington (but on the other side Hi Cynthia :wave2:) and I woke up at 3:30 in the morning...breakfast starts at 6:00, the instructor said that class won't start until 8:30 today, (because we are a brilliant class and got through everything he had to teach us :teacher:, or we are numbskulls and not enough has sunk in to ask the good questions. I guess we will find out when we get back to our respective sites. :rotfl2:) so what is a girl supposed to do when she wakes up at 3:30, I could prank call someone :rolleyes1 nah. I could get a cup of coffee, oh, wait, did that already. I know! I could write a PTR!!!! ding, ding, ding we have a winner. :thumbsup2
So I actually started writing this when I was on my training trip for work and realized that I would need a storage site other than "mom" to be able to post pictures, most of which will be taken by said mom or DD. So with the help of Lisa (Mickeystoontown) and Jen (Jenseib) I have the sizing issue figured out, thanks ladies! :flower3:
Now onto "How this trip came about" (that was said in my best tv gameshow host voice, :mic: could you hear it?) This trip started as a trip that DD, Brittany wanted to take with her friends. Well one by one they dropped like flies, new job and no vacation, starting school, current job covers bills and not much else...you know, life was happening for these twenty-somethings. So it was down to DD, her best friend and a friend from Germany. Well hey, I wanna go, sure she says and what about grandma, of course she wants to go, and Aubree? Well she's free of course she's going. Then my youngest DD started have some MAJOR issues at her school, well we live in a very rural community with little options for schooling, hey! I know, what about cyber/home schooling. Well she's not set to the school schedule any more so she can go too. Then Brittany's friend from Germany called, he had received an internship with a law office and wasn't able to make the trip. So it started with my DD and seven of her close friends and ended up a family trip.
When is this trip, you say? Why it's from October 15-22, fall decorations and F&W, this will be my third trip during this time of year and I think it may be starting to become my favorite.

I'm here! Goodness, woman, the people going on the trip did start dropping like flies didn't they? Oh well, at least the trip is still happening and that's all that matters. :thumbsup2

Joining in the fun! October is the one time of year I haven't gone to WDW yet (well, I was once when I was 12 but that was before F&W, or at least before I could enjoy it!).

Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

Lisa! You made it to my party. :cool1: Yeah, I think a Disney trip sounded good in theory to them, but once Brittany started talking numbers the reality wasn't looking so hot.

I feel really bad. DO you remember the DIS meet in EPCOT in 2010? I was supposed to be there. It was soo hot and it was towards the end of our trip. We got there, we were boiling and exhausted. Mom and I got a slushy, the girls got some Kaki Gori from Japan and we were on our way out! Know I feel like, "I could have actually known her. :sad2: Some day, I can feel it!

Hi Villainess. Does your name mean that you love the Villains more than the heroes? If so you would fit in quite well with DD1 and DD3. In fact we have plans to see the new Disney movie Maleficent, when DH and I get home from MI and visiting his family.
:rotfl2: yes it's much easier to enjoy the wine portion of F&W if you're over 21. My first trip was during F&G and the year of a million dreams and I fell in love with that feeling I got walking through the parks....and crying. Yep, I'm a crier.

Ooooh yeah! I totally forgot about that! Shoot! One day, I'm telling ya, one day our paths will cross again.

I too love the fall decorations in the park. I was lucky and even though I went in September last year they were already up!

Yes, it does! I've always been that way - my first trip to WDW was at 2 1/2 and Big Bad Wolf was the first character I met and *loved* him! If little girls wearing costumes were popular back in the 1980's, I would have been in Maleficient and Evil Queen ones! Lol. I cannot wait for the Maleficient movie to come out! I can't wait to hear more about your villain-loving DD's!

Hi Mighty thanks for joining the party. :cheer2: Yes both fall trips have either been in or started in September. I'm not really sure when the decorations are put out, but I would think early September, Labor Day time? :confused3

I already have a standing date with my DDs to watch that. I think Maleficent is Brittany's favorite villain. I'm not sure which one is Jasmyne's I'll have to ask. :scratchin

Just a quick hi to let y'all know I'm writing the introductions and getting photos together. I should have it up tomorrow night or Sunday morning. It's a little rough to find some quiet after work in the mornings, by the time I get home from taking Jasmyne to school it's time to make DH some breakfast and then DGD gets up and I love snuggling with her. By this time it is near noon when I'm supposed to take my medicine to help me sleep. You don't want me typing anything up after I've taken that, there's no telling what I'll write. :lmao: Luckily, or not, I didn't take my medicine until way late. (yes I should have been sleeping for three hours by now, it's going to be a rough night. this will be me at about 2 am  ) so I was able to type this little blurb and thank you for hanging out with me.

While going through pictures to find some for my introduction I found some from my 2007 trip.
Here the girls are meeting the Fairy Godmother.

Brittany looks so amused doesn't she? Jasmyne was 10, Abby was 12 and Brittany was 15.

And here Jasmyne was meeting Jasmine.

I think this was the last day of a seven day trip, we were all exhausted!

Introductions

So I told you who is going but who are we really? :confused3

How should I do this, oldest to youngest, youngest to oldest or flip a coin? :scratchin

Let's start with the oldest and that would be, my mom...

MOM - hey that's her name to me! OK, she's known as Carol to others or Grandma, Grandma grape and mimi. She is a retired legal secretary, her first trip was in 2008. It was a mother-daughter trip to thank her for all she has done for me through the years. Her reacion when I told her that I was taking her to Disney was, "Ummmm, okaaaay?" Well it just took one trip and she was also hooked. She loves taking pictures, she's the one at family gatherings that always has a camera in her hands. This meant that I would have to start "guiding" her to our next destination about two hours before we had to leave the park! This also means that I don't have many pictures of her that I took, so I'm glad I got photopass for each of the trips we have been on.
I asked her who her favorite character is and she said Dory because she likes when she says,"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming." :fish: It kind of reminds me of my mom, no matter what, just keep plugging away at it

Me-also known as Cindy-a forty something flight simulator technician. I took my first trip in 2007 and was lost to Disney. I think my user name says it all, lol. I've had one solo trip and while it was nice to be able to just wander and do what I wanted, I really missed having someone to share it with. My favorite princess is Belle, I think it's because she's a reader, lol. I was so excited my first trip that when we pulled into CBR I accidentally pinched poor Abby. They never fought over who was going to be in the front seat on a trip with me again. :confused3 I had never thought I would be able to afford to take my girls to Disney and that first trip, oh I can't even describe my feelings. I cried a lot and start sniffling now just thinking about it.

Deonna-23 she works as a secretary at a privately run prison in the state, she and my DD have been best friends since DD was in 7th grade. I don't know when her first trip was but this is her third and her second with us. She is like a daughter to me and I love having her around. I asked her who her favorite Disney character is and she said Stitch, hmm ok. I didn't see that one coming, the whole trip in 2010 we were looking for Ariel stuff. :rotfl:

DD#1-Brittany 21 soon to be 22, where has the time gone? Of all my girls she seems to be the one to "get" Disney like me. She works at the same prison as Deonna, she started as a corrections officer and now is in tool control. Her first trip was in 2007 and this is her 5th trip, but the second that she has paid for, lol. She has watched Disney since she was tiny, I can remember when I was pregnant with Abby she would always want to watch "Nochino", Pinochio. Every. Day. One of my favorite memories of her as a little girl is where she had a nightgown that had puffy sleeves, like Wendy's in Peter Pan, that she wanted to wear every night. She would say, "Maybe tonight Peter Pan will come visit me." Her likes have changed a bit, now she says her favorite character is Maleficent.

DD#3-Jasmyne 17, she will be a senior next school year! Brittany named her, their dad and I were discussing baby names and we came across Jasmine, he said that's pretty so I put it on the list of possible names. What I didn't know was that he was talking about the scent, well Brittany was big into Aladdin at the time and once she heard that she insisted we name the baby that. I did change the spelling which Jasmyne laments because she can't find anything with her name spelling on it. Wadda do? This will be her third trip and she wants to go next year for her graduation trip and stay at AKL. I'm thinking of renting DVC points. When I asked her who her favorite character was she thought for about thirty seconds and said, Maleficent. Mom and I were just talking the other day about how much she and Brittany were alike, poor Abby is like the odd man out.

And the last trekker on this trip is Aubree. She is two and will be almost three when we take our trip. This is her second trip, her first one was last year for her mommy's graduation trip. She was a little skittish around the characters. This year I think she will be fine. She went to a birthday party where they had a Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Her mom said that she went right up and hugged them, gave high fives and posed for pictures. YES! I was hoping for this. Just about every day she says,"You take me to the park 'morrow to see Gickey. 'K Mammu?" We have been discussing making a countdown calendar for her but not make it until 2-4 weeks before the trip. Has anyone done this? I want it to be something fun for her not to frustrate her.
She loves watching, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins, Neverland Pirates and the Little Couple lol.
