Food in the theatre

What is the best free food on the ship that you can take into the picture theatre? I know you have to pay for food at the theatre candy bar and I don't want to do that cause I'm a cheapskate
So I'm wondering what food can be gotten from other places on board the ship for free that we can take in with us and do we have to sneak it in or is it allowed?

No sneaking required. We bring theater candy with us on longer voyages. I've also brought anything from the quick service areas with me. Chicken fingers, fruit, sandwiches are some examples. I'd just avoid crinkly bags like chips as a courtesy to your fellow movie-goers.

I have taken a plate full of desserts from our Palo brunch into the movie theater.

PIZZA!!! actually pretty much anything you can get your hands on that you may wish to have while watching the movie.
others have posted that they don't like the smell of food while they are watching the show but its never bothered me. i have seen all kinds of people bringing in different foods. remember to clean up your mess before you leave as the cm's don't really go in and clean up they way they do at your local theatre. there are garbage bins near the stairs.
don't forget to fill up a drink at the drink station and enjoy the movie!!

i bought carmel corn last time i was there and i'm thinking it was in the range of 4.50/5.00. the bag wash't all that big but it didn't break the bank. i think all the candy was about that.

Everyone on our cruise took plates of french fries in. Since there is no fresh popcorn, fresh hot french fries make a nice substitute.

There has actually been fresh popcorn available on our last two cruises (both in 2014 - Wonder and then Fantasy) available at the snack bar for an additional charge. Traditional Disney parks sized box or bucket.

We tried to bring hot dogs on buns into one of the theaters and the CM on duty wouldn't let them in.
We had to toss them at the entrance because we wanted to see the movie.

So I guess it depends on the mood of the CM at the door.

Just debarked today from a b2b2b on the Dream. During a tour on the first day we were told that ice cream, hot foods, or foods needing a fork or spoon are not allowed in either theater.

We were just on the Wonder a couple of weeks ago and saw folks with fries and pizza. I'm sure there were other things. We bought a bag of pre packaged popcorn for about about $3. (our princess is a popcorn-a-holic). They had fresh popped but it was smaller and cost $1 more ???

I'm wondering if they charge for the fresh popped so kids won't take more than they could possibly eat, and make a mess with it.

The prepackaged candy comes in cellophane wrappers that are every bit as noisy as potato chip bags. I wish they'd change that.

I agree! I hate those things. Also it's meh and the fresh popped stuff is way better.

I always grabbed a couple of cookies at lunch. I always carry Ziploc bags so I was able to pick-up the cookies when we were up near the quick service items and then have them in my bag for the movie.

I didn't do it, but plan on getting a warm pretzel and taking that next time.

The same thing happened to us. We would always bring our own packaged snacks and drinks without any problems. One time we tried to bring chicken fingers and was told we had to toss them because it wasn't allowed in the theatre.
