I don't think it's actually processed that I'm going to be a cm yet, and the fact that I didn't even THINK of the name tag!! Also it makes me deeply sad that I don't think I'll ever get to be "Chris from Orlando" bahahaha…#truth

Yay! It was a fun one, that's for sure! and thank you!!

I'm here Katt! I am soooooo happy for you finally becoming a CM. :cool1: I hope that Mom and I can spot you when we go back in October!

I'm still not caught up on your last TR and I'm probably going to struggle a bit to keep up with this one. Things are crazy at work and probably will be until about June. But just know I WILL be back and I WILL get caught up! :rotfl:

I'll definitely be kicking around, but goodness knows how busy I'll be at that point with training and such lol. Hahah, that's totally fair! I definitely blew through the last tr so I could get started on this one, I didn't put too much effort into the Oct part of the last one's so no worries if you just skip it lol.

Congrats on the new gig...how exciting!

Thank you!!! I am excited :goodvibes

It's my dream to be a CM, so hopefully someday I'll get to move to FL and pursue it! :goodvibes Do you think you will work in Le Cellier? That's one of my favorite restaurants in Disney, and they have some of the most awesome CM's there!

Can't wait to read more!

Ahahaha, yeah, I was posting pretty quick at the end of the last one, I'm going to try and pace this one a little better lol!!

Thank you so much!! I'm working food and bev, so everyone starts at the outdoor cart, and then we'll move into the resturant if we're qualified and ready enough, which with 6 years of service experience I should be golden lol!

JAMBO!

Our tale begins with a slightly rocky start, and originally, two nights before we were supposed to be leaving for Disney World. On Saturday night, there was a HUGE winter storm blowing in, and after talking to a variety of people at work/calling my Mom and a TON of freaking out over not being able to get there, Steven made the call to calm me down that we would cancel our flights with United, and switch over to fly with Westjet on Sunday morning, the NEXT DAY!

After work ended, near midnight, we made the long drive deep into the South of the city to pick up all of Steven’s luggage/last minute pack, and then drove back UP to near work to my house where we ended up only having a max of 3 hours to sleep, but that was okay, it was time for DDDDIIISSSSNNNEEEEYYY!!!

My roommate awesomely dropped us off at the airport at the oh so early hour of 4:00 am! West Jet had the little kiosks to check in, and I seriously don’t know why everyone doesn’t just use those, so simple! We did get to a point of something being a problem, or the employee was just close enough to see if we needed any help, and it turned out we did. Since we’d booked the night earlier, the seats hadn’t been assigned, and there weren’t two together showing up anywhere!! The employee, who’s name was Lynn, was SUPER AWESOME enough to swipe her little magic card and a bunch of other seats popped up! YAY! However, the only two together were on the exit row, she asked if that was okay, and I “hmmed” to debate it, and said something like “my anxiety issues are bad enough with flying without being on the exit rows” but maybe?

Lynn said that that wouldn’t do! She ended up actually putting us in the THIRD FREAKING ROW OF THE PLANE, GUYS, LIKE, AS FIRST CLASS AS IT GETS WITHOUT ACTUALLY BEING FIRST CLASS!! FOR FREAKING FREEEEEE

#reasonsilovewestjet

Seriously. We were sitting super up front, and got a free small meal, and alcoholic drink. IT WAS AN EXCITING FREAKING MOMENT! The two of us thanked Lynn so much, and made our way over to the nearby Harveys for some breakfast!

During the meal I called Disney to book the room at Yacht Club, and once the time had come, we made our way painlessly through security and customs and onto the plane! We napped a little bit, watched some tv/movies, and talked about all the exciting things we would be doing so soon! A flight attendant came around with our food and drink choices, I went with a gin and orange juice while Steven went with a ceaser, and the food choices got us even more excited! We’d thought they’d just be like, pretzels, a fruit cup, or something little and snack like, but there were full on like “fruit and cheese and pretzel plates” and “turkey sandwiches” like, FULL MEALS. IT WAS INSANE. I don’t really remember what either of us got, but I do remember that Yeti was more than excited for the free booze!

*sigh * that little lush!! Soon after that picture was taken, Steven placed his drink on my tray table, but not in the little circle, and before I’d even noticed he’d done that, there was clamato juice and vodka spilt everywhere on me….

#worst

However we made it through and before we knew it (these direct flights I tell ya!) we were landing in FLORIDA!! WE ARE HOME, WE ARE HOOOOOMMMMMEEEE THANK GOODNESS!!

Steven & I both picked up our luggage and made our way over to the Magical Express, where Yeti decided that grey was his color….

He really likes to steal things….also…yes, I also have a yeti that comes on my Disney adventures! I got the idea from Danielle (IheartDduck on here) and her Yeti, and had always kind of wanted one, so I FINALLY got one back in October and he’s proven nothing but crazy shenanigans since!

Our first signs of Disney Christmas! We were sitting pretty close to the front of the bus, but since we were arriving in the dark, any pictures wouldn’t have turned out. Instead, we took the time to watch the NEW movie that they played! Honestly, this movie did not do it for me…it was MUCH more an advertisement for My Magic + and Fast Pass +. I do understand that that sort of knowledge needs to be spread through those coming to Disney World, but I missed the old video, it had more magical and fun moments in it!

We drove under that beauty and soon arrived at our home for the night, the Yacht Club! Feeling classy here!! As with most deluxe resorts (or so I’ve noticed) we were greeted at the bus by a cast member who addressed us by the last name on the booking, and escorted us inside. Now, I had heard things about this lobby, and I had been to the exterior parts of the resort before, but BOY WAS I UNPREPARED FOR THIS!!

GUYS SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY I DIIIIIEEEEEDDDDDD.

Like, for reals, we walked into the lobby, and I let out the most dramatic of gasps, and stopped DEAD in my tracks and may or may not have said “I might cry…” much to the amusement of both Steven and the lovely cast member….

I don’t know WHAT it is about the Yacht Club lobby, but I promptly texted Jess to agree that it was beyond amazing, the smells, the sights, just UGH. IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THIS GD LOBBY YOU NEED TO GO, IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

And folks….the amazing surprises weren’t over yet…

After a quick check in, we were directed to our room, which was on the ground floor, and in the same building as the lobby! (Although it seemed to be around more corners than life itself throws at you! Bahaha) Eventually we made it, and immediately started to check out the GORGEOUSNESS OF THIS PLACE!

The vanity area was absolutely gorgeous, and the nautical themeing took a heavy influence on the shower curtain, and there were even hidden Mickey’s among the knots!

Looking further into the room we were continued to be amazed, this place was so pretty and I was so happy to finally be in Disney at such an amazing resort!

Yeti and Steven’s Olaf promptly took over both the beds and claimed their territory as I went to check out what our view looked like, and COMMENCE THE NEXT FREAKING FREAK OUT OF THE DAAAAAYYYYY

Here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93IuD5DemX8

Is what I opened the door to.

Yup. That’s Illuminations from our PATIO!!! I WAS SERIOUSLY IN HEAVING AND MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN HARDCORE FREAKING OUT. I had NO idea that we had gotten a pool/lagoon view, and BOY OH BOY WAS IT GORGEOUS!

Definitely an incredible start to a Disney vacation! I stood out on the patio for a while just absorbing the magic, the heat, and the feeling of simply just being HOME. It was simply heavenly….

Steven & I discussed what to do with our first evening, we knew it was really just an “extra” day for us tomorrow, and since we were at a classy resort, we weren’t in any hurry to rush off to a theme park anytime soon. The decision to head over to the Boardwalk to get some dinner ended up winning and, we simply WALKED on over to Big River Grille to get some DISNEY NOOOMMMS.

Being the oh so awesome Dis-er that I am, I have no photos of what we ate, or what I drank, but it was super great and the service was fantastic as well. There wasn’t a lot open over at the BW anymore so we wandered back to our home, and I made the stop to take off my shoes and walk through the sand on the beach, like the trip couldn’t get any better and it wasn’t even officially day 1 yet!!! We looked back through the lobby on our way back in, the Christmas/train display there was SUPER cute, and I finally took a picture of the glorious sight that had so dramatically been thrown upon me earlier!

#takemebacknowplease

Upon returning to the room, we decided that our next day would consist of some breakfast, and then meeting up with Amanda to check in at Pop, followed by some Downtown Disney, as we had the serious problem of not having seen Frozen yet…

Steven actually got into bed that night and immediately said “that’s it, I’m never moving again, I could stay here the whole trip and be happy” seriously, that’s how comfy these beds were!! I also discovered that in my hasty packing the night before, I’d FORGOTEEN PYJMAMAS!! #whoops Luckily I had clothes I could sleep in, so we set the wake up call and were off to sweet dreams in the BEST BEDS EVER!

**

Sorry that update was so long, there were so few pictures I didn’t know where to cut it off, lol. The next ones are far superior in entertainment quality, I promise!

Yay great first day update! How great of Westjet that they practically upgraded you to first! I love that you take Yeti on your trips; I really need to get one/a Disney plush of similar size to take on trips with me. That room is just gorgeous and great view! Looking forward to the next update.

Sounds like your trip definitely got off to a magical start! Upgraded to First Class for FREE?! Heck yes! Spilling the drink all over you sounds exactly like something that I would do.

How beautiful is the Yacht Club?! Ah, GORGEOUS! And what an awesome view yall got! Oh my goodness! Being able to just step outside on your balcony and watch Illuminations ~ WHAT A TREAT! :goodvibes

Three hours is a decent amount of sleep on a Disney night :lmao:

Oooo tons of pixie dust from west jet!

Yeti loves his booze! :thumbsup2

I just love driving under that welcome sign!!!

I still need to stay at the Yacht Club! I have only ever stayed at the Beach Club.

WWWWOOOOOWW amazing view!

Sounds like a great first night!

A little late to the party, but joining!

CONGRATULATIONS one becoming a Cast Member.

Very exciting (though bummed we will miss you on our trip in August)

Very cool that you decided to do it up for your bonus day! Your room looks very nice (nautical without being cheesy) and what a view!

Subbing in! Congrats on becoming a CM!! What fabulous news!

Looks like a fantastic start to your trip!! Gotta love that Illuminations view!

Oh wow, I didn't know you had a direct flight. And awesome service to boot. Yay WestJet!!

Oh my, I remember the need to move the travel day up due to the oncoming storm. I must say, not a bad sacrifice to make there. Extra time PLUS lake view Yacht Club!!! :cheer2:

I'm here! I'm late to the party, but not too late. I absolutely adore YC and wish there had been a room for me to take on my next trip, but everything was full by the time I thought it might be a good idea. Oh well, maybe next time. :(
