You bet your aft we had a good time! A Wonder trip report Update 12/30 p.59-611

Glad that you were able to post a link from your DL trip report so I can find it. I will be looking forward to reading your trip report on Wonder.

A very nice start to your trip report. I will look forward to reading more from your time on Wonder.

Next to my three children its about the most beautiful thing I've seen. :rotfl2: You're cruising in 3 weeks? Awesome! :thumbsup2 What ports?

Yes, we will get on the Wonder on May 2nd for a 15 night Panama Canal cruise. Our ports are Key West; Cozumel; Cartagena; Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. We set sail from Miami and arrive into San Diego. The excitement is starting to get the better of me.

Great start to the trip report! I think this is going to be perfect to get me into the right mood for my cruise on the Wonder! Looking forward to many pictures of the beautiful ship!

I did the same itinerary last year as my first cruise and thought it was a perfect first cruise. Seems like you think so, too! :goodvibes

:welcome: It's a great itinerary and I'd sail the exact same cruise again in heartbeat. Do you have plans for Cozumel yet?

I have been researching our options for Cozumel but haven't made any decisions yet. Our first cruise on the Wonder in 2013 was to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We did the Playa Mia Beach Break excursion. Their new water park for little ones was perfect with 2 toddlers. They will be 3 and 5 years old this coming trip so we are considering going back to Playa Mia, but I'm open to other options too.

I am so glad to hear you say that the Wonder is in great condition and being maintained that way. She was beautiful on our first voyage and I'm looking forward to sailing her again :)

I am here!!!!! I am hoping that with school winding down I can get back on the dis again :)

I feel right at home, you're in our cabin and your early start and lack of sleep sound just like how our trips to Disney start.:rotfl2:

Welcome aboard! We've enjoyed our time on the Wonder so I can't wait to hear about your first cruise.

:welcome: Isn't it the best cabin ever? I debated not posting about it to keep it a little secret ;) but someone would have asked. Lol! I would book it again in a heartbeat.

Always a lack of sleep too? It's a curse!

Whoa. Color me envious. That sounds amazing. I have actually been to most of your ports but not on a cruise aside from Cozumel and I haven't been to Key West ever. Love Cartagena. :thumbsup2 My uncle lives in Colombia and I spent a few weeks there, years ago. What are your plans for your ports? Cabo is a favorite of mine. Desperados, away from the tourist area, makes the best guacamole ever. Also there's a little bar in front of Cabo Wabo that makes a Rainbow shot. If you drink booze , I highly suggest it.

:woohoo: and :welcome: Hi. I admit to lurking on many of your reports. Glad to have you.

Yes, it was a perfect first cruise. I have tons of photos to share too. :thumbsup2

:welcome: If you are a beach person, I night recommend Nachi Cocom. It's. a beach club that only allows about 100 people a day in. Good drinks, great food, and the ocean is very tame. :thumbsup2 It books up quickly though. http://m.cozumelnachicocom.com/tablet/ We had such a fun day. They do not have the slides though and stuff like at Playa Mia. Our group of kids were older and played soccer, swam a lot, and rode the banana boat.

I thought the Wonder was in amazing shape but I don't have another ship to compare it to. I am a hotel snob though  and love my DVC and found it in as good of shape as any of the DVC resorts I've stayed in. Really, its beautiful.

Hi:wave2: Welcome back to the real world - sigh. We were on the same cruise with you until we all got cancelled, then we did the Feb 2, same itinerary. It was amazing, right? I was floating on it for a month. Still think about it almost every day. When I got home I jumped right back into work and family and house and stuff - it took me 2 weeks to feel back to myself. Now it's life as usual, with great warm wonderful memories! Your trip report is going to be part of my process - thanks!
p.s. I am at work where I don't see pictures - I'll look again from home. I doubt I'll recognize your friend but maybe my family will?!

Our first cruise in 2009 was on the Wonder too.

We've been on two since then (with our 4th coming up this August on the Fantasy!) and they have all been awesome, but that first cruise will always stand out as extra special to us.

I know! How was your first day back at work?

It was a terrible day, one of those where everything goes wrong...

Im ready for another vacation, or a new job. Or both

Thanks girl. Such a good time. I can't wait to get to when you first met Joshua. ;) I'm having the post cruise blues today.

Post cruise blues are the worst :( find a happy place looking at all your pictures :)

That cute Josh, I can't believe I did that to him, so tactless!

Hi! Good to see you. How was your cruise? :welcome: to my report. :goodvibes

It's taking me some time too. :( This time last week, we were in Castaway Cay. Feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at the same time.

:welcome: Your first was the Wonder too? It's a special ship. I think, like you, it'll always hold a special place even after we cruise with the others. I'd love to do the Magic next. It's got the intimacy of the Wonder but with upgrades.

The Fantasy is gorgeous from the photos I've seen. Where are you cruising to?

You weren't tactless, it was hilarious. He liked it. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you had a rough day. :goodvibes Makes reality all that more icky. How long do the post cruise blues last? Believe it or not, I am still dizzy. I wasn't dizzy on the ship but at times, I'm still rocking. So wired.

You've got your Mother's Day cruise right around the corner girl! :woohoo: April is 1/3 of the way over. :cool1:

Wow, your check in process went so fast. I wonder if that's how it is in Miami? I can't wait to see your room.

In Key West we are doing a half day reef snorkeling tour. I also want to walk to the Southernmost Point to take some photos. We get to Key West at the crack of dawn and this is only our second morning in the USA so we will be awake at the crack of dawn as well. So Graham suggested that we walk to the Southernmost Point before our excursion. After our excursion, we will go back to the ship and have some lunch, but we will have dessert off the ship. It would be a shame not to sample some Key Lime Pie.

In Cozumel, we are getting a taxi to Chankanaab. We love this place and this time I have no dolphin or manatee interaction booked so we can just explore and enjoy.

Cartagena has been on my bucket list forever, but we have decided to play it safe and have have booked a Best of Cartagena tour through DCL.

In Puerto Vallarta, we are doing another DCL tour to Las Calletas. We ended up doing this when our tour was cancelled in 2011 as we got into port late and loved it. Las Calletas is very much like Castaway Cay.

In Cabo we are just going for a wander and we will charter a water taxi for an hour. Sea conditions permitting, they drop you at a beach and pick you up again at a specified time.

Wow, your check in process went so fast. I wonder if that's how it is in Miami? I can't wait to see your room.

It went so fast, it was a blur. We walked in, snaked for a minute through the line, checked in, sanitized our hands, heard background disney music, and voila, we were on the ship. It was crazy. From my recollection, the Port of Miami doesn't have all that much to see anyway but it is truly a blur.

Sounds like a lovely day. I have friends who adore Key West. You must have pie! Is your excursion through Disney?

Chankanaab was right near our beach resort Nachi Cocom. :thumbsup2 Looks really nice.

Does the tour go to the beach? The beaches are lovely.

Excellent! :thumbsup2 Sounds like the perfect way to spend the day. I didn't know how I'd enjoy a specific beach reservation and liked it more than I could have imagined.

Will you go to the Arch? Lover's Beach? There's also a Divorce Beach. :rotfl2: Cabo is so beautiful. It never gets old.

Sounds like you guys got off to a great start! Sorry I didn't comment sooner, but you'll see when I update the house thread, and no I haven't done it yet, so don't go over there and post one of those popcorn eating guys! :rotfl2:

Looking forward to you meeting up with Pam!

The excursion in Key West was booked directly through Fury Water Adventures.

I had considered Nachi Cocom, but Chankanaab won out. We have been to Chankanaab three times now and love it. I never really had the time to explore though and I am really looking forward to this.

When we chartered a water taxi in Cabo before we had a look at Seal Rock, Pelican Rock and the arch. Lover's Beach is one of the options were they drop off if the water conditions are right and this would be our preferred option. When we did this in 2011, the currents were to strong so there was no beach time for us. That was October. I hope things will be better in May.

:woohoo: and :welcome: Hi. I admit to lurking on many of your reports. Glad to have you.

Yes, it was a perfect first cruise. I have tons of photos to share too. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome! And always nice to get to know my lurkers! :goodvibes I hope you found my last TR which included my cruise useful! A lot of it was written for my sister who never had been on a cruise, so I hoped to make it accessible for a cruise newly. :goodvibes

And since I see that you are the Mexico expert and are giving out advice on Corinna's excursions: I am going to be on the same Panama Canal cruise and I was wondering what you thought about our choice for Cabo: The Santa Maria Snorkel and Sail. The description is: Sail the blue Sea of Cortez aboard a sailing catamaran and make your way past Lover's Beach to secluded Santa Maria Cove for a fun-filled snorkeling expedition. I wanted to snorkel somewhere and this one sounded good to me.

I saw your question about dizziness and thought, SHE's Back!!!!!where's her report!:rotfl:

I've been on many cruises and only once have I had the dizzy feeling afterwards and it lasted a long time. Here's hoping you feel better soon!

DH & I are joining dolphingirl47 on the Wonder's WBPC cruise! I loved seeing your pictures of the Wonder and can't wait to read more!!

I've been dizzy too, feels like I'm constantly leaning to the left.

Hopefully your cruise blues don't last too long, I think the only cure is to plan another vacation, and you've got an awesome DL trip coming up :cool1: they're why I like to have something after the cruise, eases the transition back to real life.

You've got your Mother's Day cruise right around the corner girl! :woohoo: April is 1/3 of the way over. :cool1:

I feel like a total vacation glutton.

You know that's what I'd do. :rotfl2: Im so predictable. Good luck tonight lady. Keep us posted and fingers crossed. pixiedust:

I really should let Pam tell it as I wasn't there when she met Joshua for the first time.

The excursion in Key West was booked directly through Fury Water Adventures.

Fantastic! :thumbsup2 It sounds like fun! I can't believe your cruise is so long. What a great mix of sea and port days.

I had considered Nachi Cocom, but Chankanaab won out. We have been to Chankanaab three times now and love it. I never really had the time to explore though and I am really looking forward to this.

Chankanaab looks great and like there is more to do than at Nachi. I tend to go for being a slug on vacation.

The water at Lovers can get sketchy for sure. I think May should be nice, it's still a good season, not peak, so less crowds. I'm so jealous. I love Cabo. Can't wait for your report.

I did find it and read it all. Loved the cruise part. It was a fun read. :goodvibes I will post now and no longer lurk. :)

 I am not an expert, just love Mexico and have been many times. I hate that it gets such a bad rap. We haven't done that specific excursion but we've been on a catamaran in Cabo and DH has snorkeled. I don't think there's a bad choice.

Off to a great start!!!

Guess who just booked a cruise on the Magic in 2015?

Amanda

You did? Details lady....when and to where? :hyper:

I saw your question about dizziness and thought, SHE's Back!!!!!where's her report!:rotfl:

:welcome: Bobbi. Yes I am back and dizzy as heck but not at certain times. I don't feel sick at all, just loopy once in a while. :upsidedow Think its something I need to see the doc for? How long did yours last?

You're going on the cruise too? All the cool kids will be there! I can't wait for the slew of reports after. :woohoo:

Cool :)

I've been dizzy too, feels like I'm constantly leaning to the left.

You're still dizzy too? I think it's wild that I wasn't affected by the waves while on the ship but the perfectly flat and still ground has me rocking. :rotfl:

I am kicking myself a little for not rebooking on board. Someone said we could call up to 10 days after and get the same deal. Sound legit?

You are a vacation glutton and its wonderful! What ship are you and your mom on again? 4 weeks!!! :cool1:

Yeah we've got Disneyland but my plan to borrow has been somewhat spoiled. My UY is Dec so I can't touch 2015's points unless our trip starts Dec 1 or after. I liked my Dec UY when we first bought but most of our Disneyland trips are in Nov/Dec so it's not very convenient. :crazy2:
