Ok here goes:
1 - We're travelling from NYC and will probably fly in the day before. We haven't looked into hotels yet, but will probably book something near the airport. In terms of transportation what is the best way to get to the port?
We have done this and the airport hotel shuttle dropped us off at the DCL section at the airport and we took the transfer to the port early.
2 - Since it's our first cruise, we are not very sure how we'll handle the motion/vibration from the ship. How bad does it get? The larger ship doesn't feel bad to me, but we did not have a problem on the Wonder during rough seas anyway, but others did.
3 - On Port days, does it usually take a long time to get everyone off/on the ship? We have not had a problem in the 4 times we have sailed. Disney does a great job of getting people on and off.
4 - On Castaway Cay, the bike rentals, do you know if they have bike trailers? Our younger one does not know how to ride yet so if we wanted to rent bikes is that an option? Sorry I haven't do e this. Hope someone else can help with this one.
Thanks so much I can't wait to meet everyone.

Hotel: We have stayed at the Hyatt INSIDE the airport before - it is a really nice and relaxing hotel. We had a room with a view of the airport.
As for transportation - you could use DCL transportation from the airport to the port. Can be pricey if there are more people in your party.
A towncar would be another option - pro: you could stop at one of the larger stores and stock up on "drinks". You can bring your own drinks on board, if you want to bring food (esp. for kids) it needs to be shop bought and sealed.
Don't know if renting a car would be an option.

I think everyone is different, but we have never felt much motion/vibration. The only vibration we have felt was when we were in an aft stateroom last February. You could feel the thrusters, but otherwise not much.
We did sail through "a few" Hurricanes and YES, then you can feel the movement.
3 - On Port days, does it usually take a long time to get everyone off/on the ship?
On the Eastern itinerary, the ship usually docks and once the captain gives the all clear it is VERY easy to get off and onto the ship.

I guess they would have. Last cruise a friend was afraid her daughter would not be able to ride a bike with them as she had never done it before. They had plenty of training wheels. So I guess there should be trailers as well.
We will be on the Magic in March and go to CC - I can ask for you if you want me to.
Thanks so much I can't wait to meet everyone.
You had good answers too! I'll never forget the rocking table at dinner our first evening on the Wonder when we first met you and Tom. The dinning room wasn't very full that night.Teresa, you beat me with your answers.
If you have more questions - just let us know.
Thanks for all the helpful answers.
Ok another question for those that have kids in the club, on port days, are we allowed to check them in and do shore excursions? Or is there a rule where one parent has to be on the ship at all times?
Interestingly, the 3 cabins below us, 6190,6192,6690, all with even larger balconies, appear to still be available. These are CAT 5E, if anyone is interested. My other next door neighbor! With Teri1, babygap79, and my family, we have the whole tail end of the ship! Big balcony party!
