Hi everyone.

I need some input. Going to WDW in August (4 of us, 2 boys 13 & 14). We want to try a new resort (been to most of the values, CSR, POR, and POFQ). The only mod we havent tried is CBR. The price is good, $2186. Considering this one. BUT.....

We both really like POR and the fact that there’s a boat to DTD and also surrey bike rentals. But its $2451, a bit more than CBR. (summer discount only has royal rooms available at POR).

I cant decide between these two resorts. I’d like to try CBR, but im thinking the boat to DTD and the bike rentals would be very nice. Although the $$$ we’d save by going with CBR could be put towards other things? Really not sure which to choose.

Thoughts?? Anyone stay at CBR, can you provide some input?

FWIW, we'll be renting a car. So buses wont be an issue.

As long as you are driving to the parks, and won't be too upset if you don't have a remodeled room, go with CBR. I've stayed at both, and while I like POR much more, a lot of the reason I disliked CBR was the bus service. And how long it took to walk up to the food court. Having a car that won't be a problem!:)

I would try CBR. We've never stayed at any other mods, but we loved everything about CBR. Since you've stayed at the other 3, my vote is to try something new. Good luck.

Rehab at CBR has it's permits filed with a completion date May 2015 but to date that is all that has been done. There will be no guarantee you get a rehabbed room even if they begin the project. Pirate rooms will not be rehabbed, looks like the doubles will stay there.

We have been to POFQ and CSR - didn't fall in love with either. We are giving CBR a try this May. I booked a preferred room and will have a car. The theming at CBR appeals to us more than POR.... we shall see how it all works out! :goodvibes
eta: double beds vs. queen beds isn't really a big deal to us.

I've stayed at both POR and CBR and enjoyed both. I didn't find the tranportation too bad at CBR but both times there would be considered slow season. I found a difference in the atmosphere. CBR had a more relaxed feel and lots of pool options that were quiet. POR main pool was full of life. Also POR has Yeehaa Bob and FEELS like it has more people, though that's probably not true in actual numbers.

I think it boils down to what type of resort is best for your family!

Try booking through orbitz. (Use DISCOVER for extra 20% off) it stacks with Disneys summer discount. I was able to get a Garden view room at POR in June. As long as you don't need to add dining this could work great for you.

Thank you all for your opinions. I really appreciate it.

Good choice! And queen beds are def more comfy! Not to mention the boat & evening entertainment.

sorry for the late reply, the discount code worked the day i tried it. but I guess I waited too long to book cause a couple days later when i was ready, the discount was gone. :(

But thats ok, cause i just recieved a PIN code for free park hoppers PLUS the summer room discount! :cool1: Sure its not the free dining i was hoping for, but its better than nothing! Since CBR is available I might just go ahead with that one. Gonna bite the bullet and make a decision once and for all! Im just a bit bummed out about the bed situation (doubles...not queens).
