I am soo upset

I would look to rent points for a one bedroom at the Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It would cost 200 points, which translates into about $2400 (private sale) to $2600 (through David's) for the week. You can purchase the dining plan if you would like and can get tickets from Undercover Tourist at a slightly discounted rate. My guess is that it would be a total inbetween the cost of PO and YC, but you would have superior accomodations to both.

If the occupancy at moderates is five (as opposed to 4 at values). could the OP not book a Royal Room if that's all that's available & request a roll away bed?
We had a roll away in Dec at POP, it was $15 per night, but having it meant everyone had their own bed without any one having to share.

Just thinking out loud... ;)

The 2-Queen rooms don't really have room for a roll away bed. I'm pretty sure the Royal Rooms are the same size as the 2-Queen.

I think the only rooms at POR that can sleep 5 are the Alligator Bayou Rooms as they have 2 Queen beds and a fold down bed.

And I'm 95% sure they still have those rooms available during those dates.

And if not, then Disney needs to fix the website where you book your trip otherwise they are going to have a lot of double bookings for those dates.

My only experience with POR has been prefered/AB with the Murphy beds. But I figured if we could fit a roll away into our small room at POP... it might be worth suggesting.

Can u book park tix and meal plan thru Expedia or orbitz? I don't see how I would add that in.

No, unfortunately as others have said if you want a package that is a whole different ballpark. You can only get the dining plan via Disney. I would book YC if it was me, but it also looks like the call center may be confused since others here are finding rooms open for you at POR. Try calling and specifying the memorymaker package.

Sometimes the inventory available online is different than through the call center but my guess is the CM was incorrect.

I would just go ahead and book online though since there are several options available.

Like others have said, if the extra $1K for the YC is doable, I'd book that now and keep checking for a room to open up at POR. Availability does change as people cancel all the time, so POR might just become available for your dates. Good luck :wizard:.

I am so sorry, that really sucks. We are a family of 5 too and I know how hard it is to get those Port Orleans rooms that sleep 5. I just checked orbitz for your dates and they have POR still available (non royal rooms). I've booked through them before. It may be worth booking that way and making the reservation, calling Orbitz to have them call Disney to make sure it's the room to sleep 5 and have Orbitz add your kids. The code "Discover" gets you an additional 20% off whatever deal they have going on. You can always cancel if it turns out the room isn't the ones that sleep 5. Good luck!

If you book through Orbitz can you add dining if you call Disney?

It is available.

Let me first say THANK YOU to everyone who offered suggestions. After being on the phone all morning with various websites etc I called back disney and I secured a garden view room that accommodates 5!!!! It's a little bit more then the original standard room I had (of course) but its not the $1k for the deluxe or the same price for a value.

I learned a few valuable lessons in this process:
1. Don't change reservations for anyone.....EVER!
2. If u don't like your answer, call disney back...things change, CM's don't seem to all be on the same page
3. Any questions or need alternate ideas....check in with the generous folks on the DisBoards

What a bummer. I agree with others though, people will cancel and rooms will pop up again for POR you just have to keep looking. Or you could take this as a chance to upgrade to Deluxe and go with Yacht Club. They do accomodate 5 (all the Epcot resorts do) and we LOVE that area!

Oh and as I was on the phone I heard another CM say "I'm sorry there are no rooms available at POR except royal guest rooms". So I thought for sure I would be staying elsewhere. I explained my story and after being placed on hold 3x she came back with the garden view room, with only a few $$ difference.

So happy it worked out for you!!! We will be there the same week. Very excited about our trip. Maybe we'll see you there!

So happy it all worked out and that it isn't going to cost you that extra $1000. An awesome start to a wonderful vacation! Enjoy POR - it's a great resort, we loved it.

We arrive at WDW on your departure day :) Yacht Club & Poly here we come!

yay! glad everything worked out for you!!

it always pays to be persistent and call back/check the website as necessary.

Somehow one phone CM changed our room at AK to Arusha view - bunk bed and when we said NO change it back, it was gone and someone booked it. I called like every other day to try to get our original room back and finally about 4 days before we left, I secured the room I wanted and all was well!
