Brenda, Thanks for the kind words on new grandson. I can't remember what I was going to comment on. Between having so much to read then kept stopping to get things done around house. My head is so scatter brain. I do know as I was reading your Le Cellier review I looked up the menu. Every time I look at the menu every thing seems changed. We were there back in 08. It was Chris's favorite place. They got rid of the dish he had and he no longer cares to go back. Then Anthony went during his disneymoon back in 12 and wishes he would have went somewhere else. This is all fine with me it takes one place of the list of places to eat. I don't see your salad or the pasta that Em got on the menu right now. Maybe it changes due to what foods are in season.
As for resort hopping, for Chirs it is a big can't do. I don't understand since he lives out of his suitcase.
Sorry for the ramble. Just letting you know I am still around.
Hi Sandy! I'm glad that you are still around.
How is your recovery? I hope all is well.
I've been on both side of being a fan and not so much a fan of LC. However, any place that serves that wonderful pretzel bread makes me happy! I don't see the mussel appetizer on the menu that my DH loved so they must change the menu often.
Resort hopping isn't for everyone! I have too many favorites so it keeps me from having to make up my mind.
Enjoyed the updates and was reading ahead on the dining reviews.
I loved MSEP as a kid. When I returned to WDW in 1996 and again in 2004, I was disappointed to see Spectromagic in its' place. Imagine my excitement when, in 2005, MSEP appeared to me again at California Adventure!
I was happy to see it return to WDW when CA was undergoing the big remodel for World of Color.
Ahhhh, watching the sunrise in WDW off the balcony of your room!
Nothing better than watching the World come to life.
So you headed off to Epcot and Mission "Sick and Dizzy" for the day while my group went to the Magic Kingdom. No need to check these photos today.
I love the Mexican Pavilion. Shopping in there is always so interesting.
Hi Linda! I finally finished my DR so that one is wrapped up and all meals are noted and accounted for.
I remember MSEP when I came over to DCA and I though it should be called something else since it didn't go down Main Street but yeah, it is so nostalgic. Just hearing the music makes me smile!
Ah, so we didn't cross paths that day. I can tell you that we were in MK the next 2 days.
There's a lot of merch in the Mexico pavilion, it seems cluttered to me. But on the positive side, I love the Gran Fiesta Tour and the tequila bar!
Haha, that pic the security CM took is hysterical! I am not a great photographer, but I don't even think I'd try that lol.
Wow, FP really are relics! I think I threw away the last few I had saved for scrapbooks that never happened. Now I wish I had a few for history's sake!
Not our best pose but hey, I'm not too proud to share here!
Those paper FP may end up on ebay some day.
Hey, you! Tall guy with the cute kid wearing mouse ears. Down in front!
Wait.
Never mind!
GREAT MSEP pictures!
.
Oh there's video! I try not to post video that will embarrass myself so I'm going to pass.
One of our favorite memories of Mission:Space from 2008. Ben pressed the wrong button, we ended up at the edge of a cliff and Ben exclaimed "My bad!"
Ha ha! Poor Ben! I think the Commander needs to take responsibility for the actions of the crew.
That is a phenomenal picture!
We have the same problem when we try to give away FP- you try to find the perfect group and either the families are not the size we thought because someone is missing, or they don't speak English/understand what we are offering or they think we are trying to scam them because who would do something nice like that?
I have to say that you don't
look like a scammer so I'd trust you. Now the practice of giving away a FP will be obsolete unless you peel off your MB.
Oh BTW: I read your Mexico TR on the unofficial barcelo mayo site. That turtle that stalked you guys was adorable. Great photos with your camera. I love that you gave a shout out to the DisBoards for your photos of meals.
So happy that you were able to spread some magic to those two little girls. You and Em sure do have the Disney spirit.
Thank you! To whom pixie dust has been sprinkled, pixie dust shall be repaid. That can be my new motto!
Dining Reviews-
Grand Floridian Cafe
Does Robert have a set schedule at the GF? Do you confirm before your trips that he will be working?
That vanilla French toast looks amazing!
Have either of you tried the citrus pancakes? They sound yummy, too!
Le Cellier
We have not been back since Le Cellier became a signature dining experience. That is funny that there is nary a spot of beef on your table at a steak place!
I tried to make the Cheddar Cheese Soup at home once, but I ended up being the only one in my family who would eat it. It was OK, but like you suspect, you just can't duplicate the creamy bowl of goodness served at Le Cellier. Plus, I didn't have any Moosehead Beer, so the final result was obviously not going to be acceptable.
Thanks for posting the dessert choices. Coconut Three Ways??? Are you freaking kidding me? I am Coo-Coo for Coconuts. I would so totally have to order this, even though one of the choices is coconut gelee.
Too funny about Emily falling out of her chair (sorry, Em)
But whatever you have to do to get a good photo!
PS- it appears I will be runner up at this year's Mother of the Year Celebration as well.
Robert has a set schedule at GFC so we know when we book which days he's off. We've been lucky that he hasn't changed his days off. I do email Ricardo at YSH ahead of time.
Em tried the citrus pancakes last summer. Here's my
DR link for that breakfast. She liked them but I don't stray from the French toast. It's breakfast perfection.
I'm a little bitter that Le Cellier removed their smaller lunch portion filet so I'll show them! I will order a meh salad and pig out on the pretzel bread. That soup is heavenly but it needs the beer to be incredible.
I believe that friends should not allow friends to eat gelee... just sayin'. Ick!
I think I'm going to have to step up and accept that mother of the year award.
That viewing location of MSEP was fantastic! You got some fantastic shots! Were there other people up there too?
I L-O-V-E an empty monorail car for many reasons... I will often break into a little song too AND no one cares if you take a million photos!
I cannot ride Mission Space... even the tame version!
Hi Amy! There were a few people nearby for that view of MSEP. However, it wasn't crowded up there at all. I'll have to remember it for future viewing.
Ha ha! See? The Disney dancing and singing bug hits you too!
Even the green experience makes you 'green'? At least you know your limits. You wouldn't want to make use of those little white bags in the capsule.
Great updates.
Love the photos of the parade from your spot by the castle.
I love that you gave away your "Princess Swag." You two are very sweet. I hear you on how hard it is to find the right family. When we give the balloon away every year in memory of my dad, we have to be very careful to find a "single" child family and it always takes us a good 5 or 10 minutes before we can. I'm not so worried about boy or girl as I try to get a generic balloon.
I love the photo of your empty monorail car. You acting silly? I find that hard to believe.
I love your princess t-shirts at Epcot....so very cute.
I remember that story of Em and the chair.
Hi Kathy! We got lucky with our timing of leaving the castle after dinner and not being able to go far due to the parade so that was a great spot.
I know that your search has netted you the perfect recipient of your memory balloon in the past. It can't be as random as people may think.
Me silly? Who would have thought? Might I venture a guess that Mark may have his silly moments too? Aside from the dump shop hats which are his trademark.
Oh man! Poor Em. Can you imagine if she was hurt? The staff would ask how she did it and she'd have to say my mom told me to move out of her way. Sheesh! Try telling Michael that one when we got home.
Awesome pictures of MSEP and the Castle! What a gorgeous evening and how sweet of you to give two lucky princesses your wands and wishing stars!
Oh, I hope when I'm in Disney, my room will be on the top floor so I can at least get a glimpse of these gorgeous Florida sunrises. So pretty! Will have to stay at BLT one day.
Grand Flo
And I'd totally be belting out some Carousel of Progress if I had an empty Monorail car too.
to the princess shirts! And I'm really going to miss the paper FPs so much. I don't know what Disney has been hearing, but all I've heard is complaints about the limitations AND possible removal of paper FPs. Please Disney, just bring them back. PLEASE.
Wait, what? They just shoved you out of Universe of Energy? That stinks. Oh well. At least, you had uneventful rides on the Gran Fiesta Tour and Mission: SPACE right after to soften the blow.
Hi Timmy! Thanks we were in the right spot at the right time.
That song is so perfect for any occasion but especially on a Disney monorail! You probably have it stuck in your head right now, right?
I'm just waiting for DL to figure out a way to get rid of paper FPs as well. It should remain an option for off property guests. Which reminds me.. I wonder how they do that now that they have MBs for on property guests?? Not sure.
I know, do you believe we were ready to go travel back in time and then we were shown the door. Ack! Mission Space was a nice consolation though.
Hi Brenda! My apologies for being so far behind... I just wanted to stop by to say hi. I plan to be back once I get home to catch up.
I hope you are well!
D~
Hi D~ I have followed your FB posts for your road trip. Your daughter's post was hilarious tonight. I know you are having a great time!
No worries about catching up since I'm so hopelessly behind myself.
Safe travels to you!
