POFQ excluded from discounts?

Hey all, just a quick question.

Someone told me that POFQ is usually excluded from any discounts (specifically free dining). Is that true? We've only stayed Moderate once years ago at CBR, and wanted to give POFQ a try for our family reunion trip. We're hoping to go during free dining, assuming they offer it, but obviously that won't work if POFQ is excluded.

If it is, I guess that helps with my decision! I've spent hours going back and forth on POFQ vs. POR. So it might be Riverside!

We stayed at POFQ in September with a 35% off military discount, so it is certainly included in some discounts.

I don't know about free dining specifically, because we haven't done the DDP in a couple of years but I do think if it is included it's limited.

POFQ is a small, popular resort that fills up quickly so there is little incentive to offer discounts there.

We stayed last September(2013) at POFQ with free dining!!!! We loved it!!!!

It's typically either excluded or very few rooms are included and book super quick.

FQ is small, so they don't really need to offer a discount to fill the rooms.

POFQ has about half the rooms of the other moderate resorts which usually translates to less rooms made available for the discounts. You can get them but they tend to run out quicker.

They have been excluded from some recent discounts, just like the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA. They've been switching up some typical discounts lately, and this is one of the "newer" things they've been trying. As others have said, if it IS offered, I'd suggest getting on the phone the day the promotion is released and switching your reservation to the promotion.

There definitely seem to be fewer discounts and more exclusions for POFQ. Up until now we always managed to get one (usually around 30%) if we booked soon after the offer came out but for this year's trip there was nothing for our dates at all. I also noticed that other resorts were included, even POR but POFQ wasn't listed. It seems the resort is becoming increasingly popular and I guess there is no need for them to try and fill rooms. At rack rate, I had difficulty adding 2 nights to our stay when one of our flights was canceled by the airline so it doesn't appear that this resort is struggling. And of course I assume I am not the only one who was willing to forgo the discount to stay at my resort of choice so people like me aren't helping matters

I had a PIN for free dining in August of last year and was able to use it at POFQ. LOVED the resort! While there, we were able to book a Bounce Back offer for this August, again with Free Dining, again at POFQ!

As others have said, POFQ is sometimes excluded and sometimes not and if it is included in a discount, availability is usually very limited. With that said, I think POR is a great alternative. We've never stayed there, but it looks like a beautiful resort and has a good following.

I agree. I think Riverside is the next best alternative to POFQ.
