From 8 to 80!Seeing the Magic through a new set of eyes-Updated7/15-NEW TR LINK pg 28

My plan after splitting with the ladies had been to head over to Animal Kingdom, I mean, I love that park! I had no time planned in it for the last day, and I did at MK. Plus, I knew FOTLK would be closing to relocate sometime soon, and didn’t want to miss out on one last showing! The way timing worked out I had a little bit to kill before getting into the line for the show, I knew my weaving skills would come in handy as well so there wasn’t too much of a worry, bonus of being solo, so I popped over to the one character line that I really cared about, Pocahontas!

In the line I was behind a small family, and in front of them was another cast member who was on her DCP, and we chatted a bit, talked about Disney bounding, the college program, working for Disney, etc, it was nice! Then it was my turn!

I have nothing written down about Poca, and honestly, I don’t think I would’ve remembered that I had seen her if it wasn’t for the photopass photos lol!! I think she asked where I was wrong and we talked about Canada for a bit, I mean, it’s a lot more like her home than Florida is! Bahah.

I thanked her, and then made my way into the theater and actually….SAT IN A DIFFERENT SECTION!!! I figured I could try to get some different angles for the pictures, and I knew the birds faced more of the lion section, so I grabbed a seat over there!

It was quite weird to be over in a different spot, especially one that was nearly opposite to usual!

It was nice to be able to at least try to get different pictures from the lion section though! As much an I’m a devoted Elephant section person, I think I might check it out from a different side in the future!

The show was amazing…duh…the Circle of Life singer was a bit smaller than she usually is on average, and I did expect her to have more belting bits in the finale that she didn’t really do, but she was still awesome and had a great voice. At the end of the show though, they did something weird, they actually held all the audience in the room as they moved all the floats back to backstage, which I had never seen before…odd… Luckily, on the way out, Emilie, the same girl I had seen a few days earlier was working fast pass plus return, so I was able to stop and chat with her for a bit! She said that they were chalking the bars, so it was easier to get the floats and the people out of there quicker that way to have more time to do it! I was concerned they’d had problems with people climbing on the floats! Who knew! We said good bye and I made on my way!

I had decided that I didn’t *quite* have enough time for DHS, I’d be in too much of a rush, so I simply headed to the French Quarter bus stop and let Shelley know! She had her son doing a home school live lesson at the time, but said she’d head on over with him once that was all done! Once back at French Quarter, I stopped to pick up a little snack in the food court, and then ran back up to the room to start getting ready for the party! I started with completely removing any make up so it was fresh, and then doing my hair, this sock bun was gonna be epic! Lol, here’s my snack:

Hummus and pretzel chips! They’re SUPER tasty!

While I was running around EVERYWHERE in Disney, Mom and Anne were off having a good time in Downtown Disney!

They had wandered around and shopped a bit, and also stopped at Cookes of Dublin for lunch! They ended up only splitting 1 Fish and Chips between the two of them, but they super enjoyed it and said it was awesomely tasty!

Cost:
$10.95 Fish and Chips

Obviously, thanks to the free dining, it was free!

Where we left off I had just arrived back at French Quarter and was starting to get ready for the adventure party that would be tonight!! I stopped at the gift shop/food court to pick up any packages and a snack and headed up to the room, Mom and Anne were apparently still out adventuring, and that was more than okay, it was still a few hours until I had told them to be ready to go to the party! I began with taking off all the day’s make up and starting to re-do my hair, I was putting 3 knee socks into this sock bun, and I planned on it staying in all night, and through the next day, it needed to be done pro! Lol! I snacked on this while I worked:

They have them all over the place in Disney, little pretzel chips and hummus, and they’re super tasty! Yum! Soon after getting my hair done and my base layer of make up on, I got a message from Shelly saying her and her son were there, so I ran down to the lobby to meet up with them and we moved over into the food court to get some food!

I selected the adult sized spaghetti and meatballs, Shawn got a burger and fries I do believe, and Shelly got one of the po boys for our lunch. We sat outside which was honestly super nice. I know Shelly had turned to me to see if being outside was okay, I mean, it was Florida and it was September lol! I really enjoyed it though, just taking the time to relax, and we were close enough to the doors that it wasn’t anything crazy hot.

We spent the time catching up, talking about the trip so far and some other random things, and before I knew it, it was time to head back up to the room, but I was encountering a problem….it had started to rain, and not just rain..but POUR! It was coming down SUPER hard, and not only was I not impressed as I was headed to a Halloween party in half an hour, but I needed to get back to the room in somewhat dry weather! ECK! Luckily it started to slow down after about ten minutes, so I hugged Shelly quickly, and ran as quickly as I could to the cover of our building. It was a good thing we were right beside the main building, that was for sure!!

I arrived back at the room a little later than I meant to be, but had gotten caught with that rain storm! Mom and Anne were already ready to go, and let met tell you, Anne looked fabulous! I attempted to quickly finish getting ready which proved difficult when it came to the false eyelashes…eck. EVENTUALLY I finished up, threw the last POUND of pixie dust on, grabbed my wings, and we were off. Immediately upon getting out the door and throwing my wings on I realized how awkward this would be with carrying a crossbody bag, and definitely kinda snapped at Mom when she was trying to tell me how to fix it, what can I say, I was getting into character, and we were running a little late… Here’s hoping we would make it to Magic Kingdom on time!

I tried to meet Poca in December , but the timing just never worked. BOO! But how cool would it be to meet Poca AND Gaston at the same time???

I'm actually glad you tried a different spot for FotLK this time. Mix it up a little, lol.

:rotfl2: at the photos with Anne and the croc. Not sure why I find it funny... I just do.

MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Ugh! For some reason I'm not getting the daily e-mail updates from the DIS anymore and I missed your update.

Cute picture with Pocahontas. I had planned on meeting her in October but it was just so hot that day and we were melting. We headed back to the room to take showers instead of getting in her line.

Your pictures of FOLK make me so sad since I won't get to see it till the fall. :sad1: Speaking of the fall, are we still talking about sometime in November? I need to remember to send you a message on Facebook about that!

Way to leave us hanging on the MNSSHP! I can't wait to see your costumes.

I feel like the timing with Poca can be such a hassle, like, she should REALLY be in more than one park/place, she seems to be in demand, it'd be nice to see her in more places!

Ahahaha, that's totally fair! Lol, they are amusing!

YAAAAAYYY I might just have to update them right now because I'm so excited!

Oh no! Lol, I didn't even know that was a thing! Lol

Thanks!! She was alright lol, I haven't had stellar greets with her since last Sept, and I know which friends of hers I like best and it seems like my timing is never right with theirs! Lol.

DON'T EVEN START WITH ME. I HAD DIED IT IS MY BABY AND IT IS GONE. I have been to Disney 3 times this year and haven't even BEEN TO ANIMAL KINGDOM. UGH. Like, I'm dead. It's super sad that I'll be back maybe twice more without it, I have no idea when it's reopening. The equity contracts said they start in April, so I'd hope it'd be opened in time for May, but who knows.

YES!! NOVEMBER!! Food and wine!! I'm definitely still doing that!! Somwhere in that group message was the dates I was thinking of, but I can't remember them now!

Our troupe arrived over at the Magic Kingdom right around 5:15pm, later than I had wanted, but hey, there was rain, and complication with some lashes, bahah! Promptly after getting there I ran off to rent a locker, I wasn’t going to deal with this bag for very long, and didn’t want to have to fight with it at all. I had thought about not taking a bag and was wishing I had trusted my instinct right about now and threw all my stuff into a locker, pulling out my lip chap, phone and camera to put in Mom’s bag (thanks Mom!) and threw my KTTWC and Visa card into my bra for safekeeping, bahha! Once we’d trick or treated a little bit I did end up throwing my phone/camera into that bag and it was a lot easier to deal with just on my arm!

I talked it over with the group on what we wanted to do first, and they were pretty chill doing whatever as long as they got to meet some Peter Pan characters, and of course, Cruella. Clearly, my main goal tonight was Tinkerbell, so we headed there first, since she’d be out before the party officially started, and thus not waste too much party time!

I (for the first time) noticed this little map of Neverland they have up on the wall closer to the entrance to pixie hollow and had to take a picture of it, it’s super cute! After about a half hour wait, it was our turn!

We were lucky enough to see Terrance hanging out in there for tonight! He noticed me right away and was all “Hey! You’re TINK!” Mom walked up to join and he stated “hmm…I’m not sure, I don’t think I like you very much…”and proceeded to call over to Tink “Hey Tink!! Who’s this?!” She of course got super excited jumped up and down and exclaimed “THAT’S PETER PAN!” It was off to a good start! They had a little “trouble” with Anne however, and were all “Are you a cow? Skunk? She doesn’t smell, she must not be a skunk!” Clearly pixies don’t spend a whole lot of time in the real world…

Terrance was sure to comment on the amount of pixie dust I had on today, I may have gone a little overboard with it...what can I say, I LOVE IT! Baha. He also noticed my Mom’s HANDMADE shoes that he said were pretty cool, and I really appreciated it when the photopass photographer zoomed right in on them.

Clearly Peter was excited to get over to see Tinkerbell next! Baha! Terrance was an awesome greet, and has us pose like him for some pictures!

For our lovely meet with Tink, Mom and Anne were nice enough to let me fly on up solo first, after all, we are twins, which she was excited about!

We had a little chat, and Tink called over to Terrance “HEY TERRANCE! We’re twins! Can you guess which one’s which?!” She kept yabbering on while he was replying, so his final answer was that “the one on the left was talking more, so clearly that was the real Tink” and Tinkerbell replied “My left or yours? I can’t tell” and we had a laugh over it! Then Mom and Anne came on up to say hello, and let me tell you, Anne certainly was into character, all night, it made me super happy. So, naturally, she SAUNTERED on up to Tink with this strut that really impressed Tink, as she said “You HAVE to teach me how to walk like that!!” It was awesome.

Tink didn’t catch on too well to it, but it was super awesome to see all the characters be so into it already, and of course the older ladies too, I was smiles galore that night. The best part about Disney is seeing everyone be a kid! Anne must have said something about her shoes to Tink, they do help the strutting after all, and we all compared shoes. I explained I had wanted to get some puffs for mine, but was unable to find them before the trip. Mom commented that now that she’d seen them she’d be able to make me some, so that was awesome!

We paused briefly to take a picture, to which Mom pointed out that Peter had taught her how to stand earlier in the week, and Tink posed me like her for obvious reasons!

But seriously…it was PERFECT and such a wonderful way to start off our MNSSHP experience! I was so impressed, especially since Tinkerbell CONTINUED talking to us and schticking as we collected our belongings and pretty much walked us to the door, she was FANTASTIC!

See that is such a good idea to do the characters that are out before the party starts. No sense wasting precious party time on them.

OMG YOUR COSTUMES ARE AWESOME!!!!! Your mom's shoes are amazing!

Now Terrance I can see as Peter Pan, lol.

I love your interactions and THE PARTY HASN'T EVEN STARTED YET!!!!

All caught up! Your AK day looked so fun! Your costumes all look great! Did you make your Tink dress? If so did you use a pattern? Because I really want to try and make my own but cant find a pattern for love nor money lol. I loved Anne showing Tinkerbell the walk.

First of all, I love all of your costumes!

That sounded like an amazing meet and greet with both Terrance and Tink! And the PP pictures are really great. I really need to study up on who we might meet in there just in case Jim wants to get in line. I know Terrance and Tink but don't really know the other fairies that sometimes meet in there!

I need to go back and check out the dates for November because I want to start planning. :rotfl:

I know!! Lol, but really, that's the main reason I'll get there before 6, is to make sure we meet those type of characters before we're "wasting" party time lol.

THANK YOU!! Mine was custom made, lol, Mom & Anne put theirs together and I was super impressed!

Bahaha, I know right? A lot of the Terrance's friend's are also friends with Peter, I know this one was, but he's since left Disney! Also, the "buff" friend Peter had…pretty sure he got dis-approved in the last month :(

They were ON POINT tonight, it was perfect!

Bravo on all the costumes! You ladies looked great!!!

Thank you!! It was a great time!! I honestly love costumes! Lol.

Yay!! AK is always fun!!

I got my Tink dress from a cosplayer! It's a custom made costume, she was making for someone else and forgot the boning and "messed up" the alignment on the top & one of the points so she sold it to me for like, half the price lol. She airbrushes them all by hand, they're pricey, but I'm super picky with tINK LOL.

Thank you!! Both of them were great!!

Hahha, for May, or Nov? It changes all the time, right now Tink's fairy friend is usually Vidia (the sassy fast flying talent) or Rosetta (the southern belle garden talent). Come winter time it's usually Tink's sister Perwinkle hanging out in the nook. However I've heard rumour of Tink moving into TST and losing her fairy friend :guilty: I honestly hope that's not true, or only temporarily. I'd love to see them add another room into the Nook, and I'd love to see the Frozen sisters in TST so they're more accessible!

Upon leaving Pixie Hollow we were blown up to human size, and I was messaging Brian, (the friend who had joined us earlier on if you’ve already forgotten bahaha) as he was originally supposed to come to the party on the 13th with me, but then couldn’t, he had actually had today off, and was joining us at this one! He was down on Main Street, and was in line for the SOTMK card, and since we were headed down that way, I told him we’d meet him over near Town Square Theater for the princesses! We started to head out that way and then I saw some fun people, and turned to Anne

“I found your puppies!!”

Now, these guys were GREAT!! They both pulled on their hoodies to get the pictures and were super friendly and just plain awesome and we chatted for a little bit before moving on towards Main Street before we found ANOTHER puppy, we were doin pretty good! This one was an older woman, and she was just as into it as we were and was all “Grab me by the collar!” to Anne for the picture!

Anne was definitely going around all night asking people “have you seen my puppies? I need to find my puppies!” and it was just amazing to see. Cruella was really a role for her to play and a way for her to really embrace the magic and come out of that shell of the real world and completely be immersed in the magic and it was pure wonder to see from my point of view!

Mom, Anne and I arrived over at the Theater while Brian was still in line for the cards, so we headed on in as I knew the line would just continue to grow. Luckily for us, Jack and Sally seemed to be pulling most of the heat still, so we didn’t have to wait very long after Brian joined us to get into the princess room!

We jumped right on in to chat with Cindy and Charming, and Anne was quick to say “I need to find my puppies! Have you seen my puppies?! I think they’re in your woods!” Cinderella was quick to hold her arms out as if “protecting” the woods and say that she was sure she hadn’t seen them in there, but she’d “keep an eye out for them” baha.

Now, despite not having much for notes on these guys, I know that they were great, and talked with us quite a lot, which was great!

We thanked them and moved on over to Snow and her Prince where the photopass went a little shutterbug crazy!

They spent some time chatting away with us, I don’t remember much. Honestly I think this may just be what happens when there’s more people in the group, character interactions get lost on me….who knows? They were very enjoyable though!

And now as we come up to the final royal meet and greet of the night, we also come up to the picture limit per post…so I will continue this…RIGHT AWAY! Lol.

While we’d been waiting for the group in front of us to finish up with the princesses, I noticed a few things, firstly, a woman was facetiming with someone at home on her phone, so I immediately tried to facetime Jordan, as we were coming up to his favorite characters/movie. I ALSO noticed, a farmiliar face in the line, it was the same pair we had run into her earlier in the week over at DHS during the trip and were excited to se each other again. We complimented each other’s costumes quickly and then moved on to our meet and greets. I can’t for the life of me find her TR on the disboards, but I’m pretty sure her user name is Pirate Princess something or other….

Meanwhile, the facetiming wasn’t working, so as we approached Eugene and Rapunzel, I settled for getting Jordan a video hello from them! I explained that we watched their movie at least once a week and we were huge fans of it!

And within the first words exchanged, I was SO relived and happy to see that these two were FAR superior than when I’d seen them earlier in the week! THANK GOODNESS! The video I grabbed for Jordan can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E0Xq6q-HBs at around the 3:55 mark!

They were super cute and super awesome. We talked about the smoulder, and it’s non effectiveness on blondes, as clearly it didn’t work on me at all, bahah! Rapunzel and Flynn told me to make sure I said “hi” to Jordan and that next time he should come visit them with me!

Overall they were absolutely superbly amazing and I was super happy and impressed with them! Rapunzel was SO CUTE and so in character and the both of them together were just perfect! I moved out of the way for Mom, Anne and Brian to get some character time!

No clue what they talked about, I know Mom tried to wave me back in, but I told her I was fine, and they chatted away!

The group of us thanked the royal pair and then moved on our of the theater, we had places to be and people to see and HALLOWWWEEEEENNN TO CELEBRATE! By this point I was starting to get the munchies and we all agreed to head over to Ye Olde Starbucks for a snack. SURPRISE, I got distracted by AN AWESOME COSTUME!!

For those of you who don’t have small children or a love for the Tinkerbell movies, that’s Bobble! He’s one of the other “Tinkers” from pixie hollow who’s a good friend of Tink’s. He’s a little derpy, and it’s awesome. I may have freaked out a little bit when I saw him, it was awesome to see another adult dressed up, and as a rare character. He was definitely foreign, but was super enthusiastic and was excited to see me as Tink and we grabbed some photos before moving on to our Starbucks destination.

I FINALLY found some pineapple, as I had been on a quest for pineapple all week, and since it was pumpkin season and I need to consume ALL things pumpkin, I picked up a pumpkin spice muffin as well! Brian ran over to Casey’s while Mom Anne and I headed back to Town Square for a parade spot! There were barely ANY people around there, so we grabbed a spot right in front of the theater, BAM AWESOME! Only to be told by some lovely cast members that due to the construction in front of the confectionary, the parade wouldn’t be making the loop around Town Square, it would simply come to the end of Main Street, and take that right turn into backstage…DERP.

We booked it down the street to find Brian along the way and then seriously ventured through the ENTIRE park before finally settling on a spot behind a row of people all the way over in Frontierland! We were pretty much in front of the Diamond Horseshoe when we stopped to chow down on our snacks while the parade made its way over to us. Brian was even nice enough to share some of his Corn Dog Nuggest with me! BEST DAY EVER.

Aww that's one of the things I most enjoy about MNSSHP. Seeing people run into strangers with related costumes and HAVING to get pictures together. Just so super awesome!!!

Such great character photos and interactions. I like that you got some "alone time" with the Tangled crew. My God I cant even begin to imagine how many character photos you must have. I mean I have a ton and I don't do nearly the amount you do.

Really, really, really GREAT costumes and fantastic character meet pics. I can't wait to see what your costume will be for the Rock Your Disney 24 hour event. Any hints???? :)

I wish I could go to MNSSHP more than once! And can you brush off some of your creativity so that I can make some costumes at least half as nice as you or even so I can come up with an idea!

Love your costumes!!! All 3 of you rocked it!!! :thumbsup2 But I'm still trying to figure out what Brian's costume is... :rotfl:

Thank you!! I always have a heck of a time deciding on costumes, but it worked out wonderfully, and I know Mom & Anne had fun putting them together! Lol. Brian did Peter Pan, but was more of a Disneybound than a costume!

YES!! SO MUCH YES!! It's my favourite part of the parties, especially since MOST people are totally up for. We did run into a girl dressed as Lottie who refused to even take a selfie with me because "she was a cast member and didn't want to get in trouble" kinda irked me, like, no one would say anything as long as you're not pretending to BE the character…drunk Snow White back in Feb proved that! LOL.

Thanks! I was glad they were much better than the previous party so far lol! The tangled crew is so awesome, I love em!

Bahaha, I have honestly stopped caring. Last month when Steven & I were down there we didn't care about the photopass (ended up with over 36 cards lol) and we just stopped handing our phones over, because who needs ANOTHER picture with a princess? We just cared about the interactions!!
