Got a survey about fp+ from disney

Just got back from our trip and got an email survey.

I told them it was great! I had no trouble at magical express. Resort key worked first time. App worked almost flawlessly except once I had to kill and restart it. Entrance to park had one small hitch they resolved in 20 seconds. Lines were great. And the best part was fp+ enabled us to see rides we would have previously skipped!

Two thumbs up Disney! Keep the great improvements coming!

My one complaint was they lowered the quick service snacks from 2 to 1 a day and no one told me when I purchased it. I gave them a really nasty remark about that change. Because really... If you get a pretzel or popcorn you are going to need a drink. Whoever came up with that should be fired.

Everything else about the new system was great though! Love the innovation!

Why would you have otherwise missed any attraction? Are you aware fastpass existed before FP+?

That was my thought as well. Are there really ppl on the disboards that weren't aware that they could get as many fastpasses as they wanted (obviously after every 2 hrs., but still many more than 3 with no restrictions/tiering) with the legacy fastpasses?

OP, I'm glad you had a great trip, but still confused.

I, too, received a FP+ specific survey after returning from our trip. I gave it mostly high marks.

While our trip was as magical and wonderful as all the previous trips, I did suggest they lift the tiering from Epcot and DHS.

I really couldn't give it low marks, because the system really did work well (no glitches, or problems changing anything), and the FP+ system still allowed us to ride as many rides as we had on previous trips.

Under the old system some fp ran out very quickly during the old system. We nearly missed out on toy story when we visited.

I never used QS snacks so I don't understand why 1 wasn't enough. By lowering it to 1 instead of 2, it cuts down on QS snack abuse and makes it more fair for everyone. :rolleyes1

We did many times and when we did eventually ride it, I was a bit confused as to what all the fuss was about. I am glad the OP had a good trip. Personally, the legacy system worked well for us and the new one has put a lot of restrictions on our trip. I always plan and have a guideline schedule, but while we do know where we are going each day, there is flexibility to change it up. Less so now. It used to be simple: you want the popular attractions, you have to make the effort to get there early. That was fair, to me.

On busy days, the headliners at all parks often were gone by 10 or 11am or even earlier.

But how is that any different now? The only way FP+ could have created additional FP spots is at the mercy of stand by guests (and slowing down the wait for FP guests), the ride capacities haven't changed. Somebody still has to lose out. I mean, I get people are happy it's not them now, but that's how people who enjoyed FP- felt before.

On a non busy day, we didn't notice a huge difference in availability compared to FP- days.

By the way, anyone know if this survey is sent randomly? We never got one.

OP, this isn't about you, just more of a general observation. Just ONCE I'd like to hear someone come on here in favor of FP+ and have it NOT be about TSMM.

I'm so sick of hearing about that ride we walked right past it with a low wait time several times on our trip to DCA in December.

Now, that was seriously funny! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

B/c if you have your reservation ahead of time you don't have to rush to the park and you can ride it when convenient.

That's not what I asked though. Of course on an individual level it's different, especially for a ride like TSMM, but it's not different as a whole. When x number of FP slots per hour run out, they run out. It doesn't matter whether or not they were FP+ or -.

How does FP+ allow rides to not run out when it's busy? It doesn't. They still do. There are still people who can't get a TSMM FP. Instead it's now people who don't plan ahead as opposed to it being the people who don't arrive early. The number of people TSMM can handle in a given day has not changed.

The question was how did the op not get to ride in the past and now did b/c of fp +. It's not an answer about other guests.

I was responding to the comment that headliners were gone on busy days by a certain time. FP+ may change that for an individual, but the ride capacity is still relevant just like before. FP+ can't stop it from running out. What difference does it make to the group as a whole who is riding? Someone has to lose.

All I'm saying is FP+ is not some miracle solution that allows people to not miss out on their favourite attractions. Some people have to miss out or fastpass can no longer be fast (which looks like it may be part of the "solution").

Exactly. In the past if I got to the parks at 11, and it can be any park headliner, so leave Tsmm out and replace with soarin or ee in animal kingdom, fast pass are all gone and the only option was a 2 hour line or miss the ride.

We just got on the app with our phone the night before and added a fast pass and we were able to see the ride without waking up at 7 to get ready and hit rope drop.

So happens for mk, we made rope drop because we were up. Went into the app and cancelled our afternoon fast passes so someone else could snatch them.

Worked great for me!
