Josh is the voice of reason on FP+

Perhaps you all should read a follow up. Apparently you are all a bunch of lunatics!!:lmao:

You should read more posts by Josh on his site. He speaks the truth about Disney whether it's good or bad. It's often delivered in traditional snark...and truthfully...it's pretty damn entertaining. I suggest you read some of the older posts.

And since we are talking about Josh here, I am sure he appreciates the shout out in some god-forsaken way. But when it comes down to it.... a glass of Dalmore 50 Year would probably go further. :drinking1

Ha! I saw that. Not much love for the DIS over in the comments of Josh's site. ;)

Also an interesting note was either how many people didn't have smart phones or didn't realize they could access everything via that by the lines he showed at a few of the kiosks. Actually makes me feel a little less alone in the world knowing I"m not the only one without a smart phone :)

We are one of those families who do not have a smart phone. We do stay onsite so we can make reservations 60 days out (which I am not really liking only because I feel my vacation is way too structured now). That said, if I need to reschedule a ride for whatever reason, I will either be stuck waiting on a kiosk line or giving up a ride because I do not own a smart phone. I am hoping the kiosk lines will not be awfully long as I want to waste as little time standing on line rearranging my park rides. At least with the old system, I could hand off the passes I could not use and sprinkle another family with a little "magic", and pull a different fast past with virtually little to no wait time.

One thing's for sure, FL resident AP holders are getting the shaft.

Cannot partake in FP+ and will be all but impossible to get FP+ for myself (much less for my family of 5) if we decide we have extra time and want to meet up with friends who are on-site and have already setup FP+ reservations.

I'm greatly interested into how that would be accomplished.

The paper FPs going away is just sad. WDW is turning into Universal.

You don't have to stay on site to get FP+ IF you already have an active Magic Band. :)

We have three sets (annual passes assigned to all of them) and decided to go this past Sat (stupid me thought - "hey it won't be crowded - its cold!"). So I logged on my computer a few days before we left (maybe a week or so) and picked some FP+ times.

I do not own a smart phone so I figured I better do it from home before we went. It worked. :confused3 Thanks goodness because I had NO IDEA the legacy machines were gone (And the kiosk lines were not my idea of a good time).

Also, FYI - I was told by a CM the other bands I have will not work with FP+ if I bring them into the park and haven't used them to enter the park. Does that make sense? I read that some ppl were speculating on this... so no you can not load up your bands and get more FP+... too bad!! :rotfl:

I should add that we have FL Res. AP but the only reason we have MB is we have stayed on site and received them....

According to some we are all crazy here. I wouldn't go that far, at least I don't think that I'm crazy.

I love Josh's wit though. He is right - this is all doable. The question is whether some of us WANT to do it in that manner. Or maybe I'm getting tired of the constant arguing that goes nowhere....

We have not been in quite a few years and it was refreshing to read. Gave it a bit of perspective I suppose. A little less intimidated now.

I truly appreciated his description of the food.:rotfl2::sick: I mean the food was on the downward slide big time a few years ago, but really? "gourmet mac and cheese" with cheese sauce and taco toppings? That thing was like  The presentation made it look like something out of a summer camp cafeteria. I am not even that big of a food snob, but is that really the stuff they are serving there? I loved how he said he was disgusted with himself for liking it as much as he did. Very funny guy!
Didn't that stuff just look scary? I admire his bravery in even trying it. :rotfl:

So, if I link tickets to bands I have previously used on a prior trip (this make them active?) and use these to book FP+ and enter the park on them, I am good to go? If so, how far in advance of going to the park can I book FP+?
Thanks!!

Will do. I live right around the corner from there. I was just there last week. I guess...it's a small world after all...:rolleyes1

I'm pretty easy to spot. I'm usually wearing this...

Not tickets, I didn't think, just APs - 60 days out you can book for 7 consecutive days (it's then a rolling window).

Mad Hattered, have I told you how much you make me laugh? Great stuff. :rotfl2:

Thanks, Plano. That's a much nicer response than I usually get. And it didn't involve the word "puking", so that's a plus. :)

Have I told you how much I respect your viewpoint, which involves tolerance and patience, to a great degree? You have a great attitude about most things, although your kids may disagree with that assessment. :goodvibes
