Have the rules changed? Got my Vacation Booklet. 2/9-2/14/2014 with DDP. Page 34 =

"1 Rapid Fill Resort Refillable Mug (per person, per stay)
Enjoy refills of fountain drinks, coffee, and tea at any Disney Resort self-service beverage location."

I thought mugs could only be used at your own resort?

Yes, this is a change since the RFID went into effect.

Would someone please post a current pic of the mug? Thank you:firefight

It wont let me post it for some reason. You can google it. Just search Rapid Refill mug. Same pool scene they've had for years now. They just changed the lids to green, orange and purple and added the Rapid Refill logo.

If the mugs don't change by June, could we bring an old lid? We are a family of four and if we all had different color lids, it would make mug life easier. Last year, we swapped pieces on the lids and that helped and will do it again, if the old lid wouldn't work for some reason.

Thanks!!

We've done that. ::yes::

We've also slipped colored hair bands over the handles to differentiate. :thumbsup2

Since the mugs work from resort to resort with the length of stay, I was wondering if anyone knows if this carries over to Vero Beach as well? We'll be doing a split stay BLT/Vero & I just read that they now have the RFID mugs...

Anyone have any info or experience? I posted this question in the DVC board too...

Thanks!

$17.99 for length of stay (up to 14 days, but this can be extended for longer stays at no extra charge by a Cast Member upon request)

I did a quick search in this thread but couldn't find if anyone has tried this yet on a stay longer than 14 days.

Just wondering if the procedure was easy or did the CM's not know how to override the system past 14 days? We leave in 8 days!

I don't mind buying another cup (RFID) but I only drink iced tea or water. Can I just bring one of my many mugs from home for Iced tea/water?

You can for water. But not for tea. Unless you are bringing your own teabags.

So, can you fill your own reusable water bottle from the machine for water for free or do you have to pay for it? Can you get a one time cup for water for free or do you have to pay for a drink?

Not trying to be picky, just trying to figure out the best way to get our water to drink at the hotel food court. We used to drink soda and got the mugs, but now we don't. :)

Thanks.

Water is free.

You need your original receipt and copies of your reservations to show that it is a split stay. Whoever posted had on site with a cruise inbetween. Not sure how many days.

I understand I'll need to show a copy of my reservations showing a split stay but not sure what you mean by original receipt......for what?

If you don't have the dining plan you will want to keep the receipt from the mug purchase in case there are problems later so you can show you have length of stay.

Is it the cashier in the food court that overides the system?

Ok, that makes sense. I was wondering why I'd need it to purchase my mug. ;) I will definitely be keeping my receipt! Thanks.

On the first day when you pick up your mugs it will show the purchase of a 14 day mug so you take that mug to the second resort to show that you are within the days or something like that.
