We woke up bright and early the next morning to make it to rope drop EMH at Epcot.
When it came to booking out Fast Passes at Epcot they were trying out a new system where you could only get one E ticket ride FP and then could get two lesser rides. This meant we had a FP for TestTrack, Captain Eo and Figment.
After waiting what seemed like forever we were allowed in!
The United Kingdom was decorated for Guy Fawkes Day. The "Gunpowder Plot" attempted by Guy Fawkes failed when he was captured before he could blow up the English Parliament. Guy Fawkes Day is celebrated every November 5th in Britain to celebrate his failure to blow up all the members of Parliament and King James I.
They had also added the Mary Poppins topiary to this area.
It was weird seeing someone fish in the lagoon!
The usual Disney bird pic
When we made it over there it was closed!
So we asked what was open and the CM responded with everything else
To ride Livin with the Land
Well that was closed too!
So we headed to the Seas and that area was closed too!
There was nothing open besides Test Track and Soarin!
Starbucks was closed too!
I love this picture!
This is a pretty boring line now so luckily it moved pretty quickly!
It was closer to 9 now so we figured we would check out Figment again!
and guess what?!?!
He was awake!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always love this ride and will miss it when they shut it down!
Idk about you but just seeing this picture I can hear the music in my head
I wonder how he sticks to the floor?!
After we said goodbye to Figment we went to see if anything else was open!
Next up
Is Nemo awake?
Coffee and Hanson crazies!
I wish I could wake up bright and early.
Best I can manage is the early part.
I am a morning person so waking up is never an issue. Getting me out of bed is!
I would never... ever, have thought of getting FP for Captain Eo or Figment.
Neither did we!
Ha! I know that feeling at Disney.
Was it maybe two minutes?
No we had to wait about 15-20 we left the hotel pretty early!
Remember, remember, the fifth of November,
Gunpowder Treason and Plot.
Ever seen the movie "V for Vendetta"?
No I never did I hear it's a good movie though!
Did your mom cry?
Nope not this day!
More weird if he hauled out a big shark.
Darn it! I keep getting my parks mixed up.
Of course that's Universal.
Uh, huh.
So when they say 'everything' they really mean 'almost nothing'?
It was ridiculous!
Quote from Disney brochure:
Guests staying at Disney resorts can enjoy extra magic at select parks on select days where absolutely nothing will be open for your enjoyment!
I know it was a waste of an hour!
Oh, well... Those are the big two, so it's not a total waste.
My mom can't ride Soarin and we had, had fast passes for Test Track so we felt it was.
You could've saved yourself a lot of TR writing.
Today we went to Disneyworld and it was closed!
Thanks for reading!
Really? It looks good from your pictures.
It's cool if you're in to cars but I like the old Q better!
closed? rehabed? torn down?
Oh. Phew!
I think you're in the minority, there.
Are there plans to shut it down? Or are you just speculating?
They are shutting down the entire area and switching out Eo and Figment.
Nope, not me. The voices drown everything else out.
:
Glue.
Nails.
Screws.
Although I would suspect that velcro would be less painful.
Good luck!
Sounds good! Thanks for the chapter!
If only you could have posted a few more pictures!
Walking out onto the Boardwalk is such a great way to start the day! And could there be anything better than an empty world showcase?!?! OK, probably actually being able to get coffee during emh would make it better. I can't believe they didn't even have the coffee going! It's a good thing I never make it for early emh, I would definitely need my fix
Well, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing pictures of an empty Epcot on the morning after I left the world.
This sounds strange - but I don't think we ever started our day at Epcot while we were at the Boardwalk. We ended almost every day there, but didn't start a single one.
Are you sure you are not the only ones there? Seriously, I think the park opened just for you!
Beautiful pictures!
Caught up on your updates
Bummer about the confiscated hot fudge on the flight. Score for the TSA! Bet they had a yummy dessert at lunchtime.
Nope we watched her throw it out!
Pretty sunrise from the plane window.
I can't believe you had a ME bus to yourself!!! Where was everyone? Nice shots of the Disney bubble-arch.
We ended up having about three other families join us before we took off.
Love the pictures of the CL lounge at BW and in the lobby. And of course, the photos of YC & BC from across the lagoon. My home!
You didn't waste any time for your first meet, and what a great one!
It was so much fun! I can't wait for May!
We have never (well, almost never) dined at Beaches and Cream. Only time we have been there was when they were testing a CS breakfast in July 2009. I really wish that had continued.
You need to try lunch there!

Cool picture of the IG Spider. I have read about them before but I never take the time to look for the amazing webs.
Pretty BW room! Did you have the same view as from the lounge?
Yep we were the first room to the left of the lounge!
about the Surrey. Don't think I have ever read that decision turns out well. Especially at BW area!
We won't make that mistake again!
What fun at Jelly Rolls!
It was so much fun!

That is weird that everything was closed at EPCOT. We have been at EMH and didn't encounter that.
Fast pass for Figment? They must have had to dust off the instruction manual to figure out how to that for the first time.
Loved the empty park!!!! Would really enjoy seeing it like that!
Subbing!! I love Boardwalk! It is my favorite...loved seeing all of those pictures! I can' believe so much was closed in the park! That would be very frustrating!
When we last left off we were searching high and low for something to do at Epcot!
After we found the Imagination Pavilion open we decided we should check out Nemo.
We helped Marlin find Nemo and sang our hearts out to the Big Blue World song!
This would become an ongoing routine with this trip and each day we would stop for coffee somewhere. I can't live without coffee and I am so glad they have added Starbucks to the parks!
We got a free sample of their pumpkin filled chocolate which I liked and mom did not!
We saw these awesome chocolate statues!
As someone who works with chocolates and makes the molds and everything I find this immensely impressive! I can't imagine how much time and patience this would take!
Unfortunately we didn't end up spending much time in Epcot this trip!
A lot of families were there for the princess breakfast so I ended up helping a family out by taking their picture.
They were a nice family but everyone seemed worn out and it was only 1040!
Once the rope was finally dropped a group of people took off at a sprint. Mom and I were very curious as to where they were going and it turned out they were running to line up for the Hanson show! It wasn't until 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were nuts!
Rather than try to wait for seats for a concert we felt we didn't need to wait for I got myself one of these babies
Frozen Szarlotka (Apple Pie) featuring Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka
I caught back up with mom and we headed up the long staircase to the Chase lounge
Lobster and Seafood Fishermans Pie
Orange Dole® Whip with Crème de Cacao White
Next up
Checking in to our hotel
Dining with the Beast
Love the queue in Nemo - I think it's actually my favorite part of the attraction!
Your lunch looks delicious; you do a good job of finding yummy gluten free selections.
I see your magic band in the last photo - it looks like you peeled off the outer part to make it smaller. I'm trying to decide whether or not I need to do that on mine - since once I do I can't undo that!
Oh - and who spends all their time at Epcot waiting for a Hanson show??
Word of advice. Try looking side to side next time.
Trust me on this one.
We did! We went from Imagination Pavilion to the Land to the Seas and nothing!
But for nothing else.
You did????
So who exactly started that conversation?
I'm betting it was your mom, right?
"Caitlin, check out Nemo. He's got a nice dorsal fin."
"Ooohhh, I know mom! And the way he has no eyelids, so he never blinks! I could stare into those eyes for hours!"
"Don't tell your father, but I think I'm in love."
"I don't know, mom. You're acting pretty love struck. He's sure to think something fishy is going on."
Okay. Maybe that last line was unnecessary...
but I couldn't reel myself in.
I could so see you two doing that!
We always do!
I've never gotten into the whole coffee culture.
I kinda wish I had. I feel like I'm on the outside looking in.
Just don't care for it that much.
I swear I am not making this up...
I had my first cup in 1982...
my second was 1992...
my third was 2004...
Of course I'm still feeling the caffeine buzz from that last one.
I couldn't live without coffee!
pkondz, not being a fan of pumpkin... would probably agree with Dawn.
They were so good!
Very nice, and...
oh, shoot.
I just chewed a hole in my shirt.
You make the molds too!!!!
I've done some chocolate figurines, etc (hollow ones I mean) but always with bought molds.
You would have loved the Lindt Chocolate Museum (not sure if you read that chapter on my TR or not. Chapter 10.)
That was a very cool chapter!
Not. much. time... in Epcot...
We always spend a ton of time there on family trips so we just didn't get over there much.
That's nice of you.
Hey! You try riding Figment 27 times in a row!
I'm not sure if I should say they're dedicated...
or nuts.
I think I'll go with the latter.
They were Hanson fans are freaks!
Wow. That looks (and sounds) good.
Don't know that one. Where is it?
Can you give more details on that?
It was mashed potatoes some sort of red sauce and had hunks of lobster and crab.
I'm not a fan of Crème de Cacao, but it sure looks good.
It wasn't great but I drank it!
Thanks for the chapter, Caitlin!
So jealous! I didn't see those chocolate displays. I ran into the festival center to grab passports for my hubby and I but never looked around. Ad I missed the free Godiva sample too? I love everything pumpkin.
The displays were very cool!
I also love everything pumpkin so I loved the chocolate!
So happy you tried the apple pie drink - that was one of my favorites at F&W.
It actually was why we went at that time I was between that time or going for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler and I was like I'm sold as soon as I heard about it!
I don't understand people who would waste time lining up for a concert There is no band I want to see that much! We saw Survivor while we were there. We showed up 20 minutes before it started and I saw a line so we went to get in it. The people told me they were waiting for the next show. I don't know why you would stand in line for s show when there are seas available . DH and I walked over to the seating area and there were loads of seats. I sat and held our seats which we very good while he went to get us drinks. It never filled completely and if I had wanted to, I could have got a lot closer to the front than I did.
I didn't understand it either. Although the show we went to was pretty packed!
Oh and the Chase lounge - we stopped in for the tickets for Illuminations and they did not have them (it was early). I asked them when they ran out and they said that they did not offer them every day and that the day we were there was one of the days that they did not offer any!
Sorry I missed this update. It must have been during my long work stretch.
Anyhow - for some reason we never made it into the Chase lounge, but it looks really nice. I wish I could remember why we never went up.
That apple pie drink looks really yummy. I feel like I worked so hard to get something in every country, but I still overlooked so many yummy things.
Lining up for Hanson at 11am. Hmmmm - don't think so.
