November 19th, 2013- Miami

We left the house early and headed to the airport. Got some breakfast and then headed to the gate area. We were happy to start vacation.

We flew from Newark to Fort Lauderdale on Jetblue. So I watched tv all the way there. We got to Fort Lauderdale and got our luggage and then took SAS Transportation to the intercontinental in Miami. We checked in and went to our room which was nice.

We decided to walk over to Bayside Market, so we left the room and walked over.

We went and looked at the different stores there and got a drink, vacation had started:cool1:. I took a picture of the Heat arena from Bayside Market.

Shopped a bit and walked around a little more and then we started raining so we headed back to the hotel for a while.

We relaxed for a while and then around 5:00pm we headed back over to Bayside Market.

We went and ate at Bubba Gump for dinner, which was good. After dinner we headed over to the Heat arena, being a NBA(Brooklyn Nets fan) fan we wanted to see a game and found cheap seats on stubhub. It was raining so we tried to stay dry along with everyone else. Doors opened and we went into the arena, went into the team store and bought a hat and shirt, then we headed to our seats. After seeing where our seats were we went and got some drinks which was expensive of course, but great. By this time it was near when teams were going to warm up so went back to our seats.

The game was good and Heat won, good experience seeing them at their home arena and with seats like that. After the game headed back to the hotel and we got ready for bed.

Next up: Restless Night Sleep and Boarding the Magic

Question for you regarding the Heat game. Did you feel comfortable walking back to the hotel after the game?

We are going to a game in March and it will be me and my 2 daughters, and not sure if walking back will be a good option. Currently have reservations at the Holiday Inn as it is closer , but would prefer to stAy at the Intercontinental

Yeah, I felt comfortable. i had heard some stuff about Miami before, but I think that is a better part of town, so it was just like walking in NYC for me. Less people few a block or so of course, but wasn't bad. I'd say walking to Bayside Market was give or take 5 min walk and then give or take 5 mins more for the arena

I wouldn't worry about a walk from the arena, the police are directing pedestrian traffic, a lot of people leave around the same time and the Holiday Inn is a very short walk, maybe three blocks.

So since we were going on a cruise I couldn't really sleep and on top of that my back was hurting, so didn't get much sleep, though I did get enough. We woke up and got ready for the day. Took pictures of the ship of course.

Dad went down to get us some wake up coffee from starbucks and I finished getting ready and went on facebook. We relaxed in the room for a while.

We headed back to the Starbucks and got breakfast, here's what I got.

After eating we made sure we had everything packed up, once doing that I wanted to upload pictures to my macbook pro, so I did that while dad went out to take a walk. Once I was finished doing what I wanted I called my dad and he came back up to the room and we both went out for a walk.

We headed back up to the room and chilled till about 9:30am and then went to checked out.

We got a taxi to port from the hotel. Got to port and dropped off the bags and headed to get in line since it wasn't open yet. Vicky saw me and yelled my name, so got to finally meet her and her family, who were some of the nicest people. So we all waited in line and talked till the doors opened. Once inside we checked in which was a breeze and then found some seats and ended up sitting with Vicky and her family and Gary and his wife arrived and we met them and I think some others as well. Around 11:30 or later boarding started, we were group one, so said bye to the rest of the group and off we went. We boarded on deck 4 of the ship and had our name announced. Frankie said hey to me when we were boarding, so this cruise started off great. We decided to go check out the top deck before lunch, so off we went.

We went to Cabanas for lunch. I like how they did Cabanas on the Magic and lunch was great. I usually don't eat mushrooms(yuck) so dad took a picture of me eating them.

After lunch we walked around and got drinks of the day, we headed down to the promenade lounge and booked the Martini Tasting. After that we headed back up to deck 9 and 10 and walked around.

Saw them kick kids out of the adult area.

So we walked around a little more.

Saw the lifeguards that were new on the ship since we last cruised.

We went to sit in the adult area.

The room was ready so we went to check it out. It was on deck 6 this time and nothing was wrong.

We walked around the ship a little more after that.

We went to people watch in the Atrium.

Dad went to the room to check and see if bags were there, so we split up and I went to get a soda from the drink station. Went to the dis meet at 3:00pm and met some cool people. After that headed to the stateroom to relax for a while. Met our stateroom host Jeryll, who was nice. After this was the Life Boat Drill. Sheree saw me and came and said hey, sweetest girl ever. After the drill was Adventures Away so headed up to that. I watched from deck 9 and dad watched from deck 10.

After the party went up to deck 10 and watched us sail out of port.

Went back to the stateroom and my bag was there, so unpacked and got ready for the show and dinner tonight. The show tonight was a comedy act called Buckets N Boards, they tap danced and played on buckets lol, good act. After the show went to see King Triton's Tree Lighting Decree. Sheree was the one talking.

After that we headed to dinner which we had in Carioca's tonight. We had a table to ourselves this cruise which was nice. Our servers were Mario and Joe and our head server was Deneval, all were good and Deneval said he recognized us. Tonight the Carioca's menu was great. After dinner we headed back to the stateroom and found this.

We went down to O'Gills Pub and got O'Gills, saw Nyoman and talked to him, nicest guy and have known him since 2009. After that we headed over to Fathoms and saw the end of Magic Quest and then watched Match Your Mate, which was funny once again. Dad left after Match Your Mate and I got a beer. DJ Cide was playing music tonight, he was a good DJ. So danced a little and got a few beers and also talked to Tisa and she said welcome back, after her being club host on 5 cruises she kind of knows me and then headed up to deck 9 for a soda. Headed back to the stateroom around 1:30am and called it a night.

Next Up: Castaway Cay

Omg just saw this and I am so excited to follow along!! LOVE your trip reports so much!! We board the Magic this Friday! :)

most likely won't be done by then, but read more tonight, since try to get a two days tonight. And have a great time on the magic

So I woke up around 7:30am today, dad was out of the room getting us drinks. I got dressed and watched a little tv. Dad came back and we chilled in the room a while. We got to Castaway Cay around now I think.

We went up to Cabanas for breakfast which was good. After breakfast went back to the stateroom and got ready for the day. Talked about our plans and then we decided to meet up on the beach. So I left dad and went and walked around a little.

I got off the ship around 9:00 and headed to the beach.

Found a spot on the beach and relaxed. After a while went to check out the water and took a few pictures.

So I just relaxed on the beach for now. While I was doing that dad was on the ship still or getting off the ship. Here are pictures he took.

So dad finally got off the ship and met up with me, he took a few pictures of me relaxing.

I headed to get a water at this point and dad stayed with the stuff. Watched the crab races going on and also got water and a ice cream. Headed back and saw dad reading, so I snapped a picture.

also took a picture of the view from out spot.

It started raining so we headed over to cookies to grab some lunch and get out of the rain. We chilled there for a while and ate. Once the rain slowed down we decided to head back to the ship.

So we got back on the ship and went to the stateroom, since I hadn't showered since Tuesday night I took a shower while dad went off and did something. After showering got into a clean outfit. Dad came back and we decided to got take a few pictures on the top deck.
