Which DVC resort

Which resort is generally preferred among the disney club suits. TIA

I could tell you, but it will start WW3 online.

Seriously, they all are nice and everyone has their own opinion of what is the preferred resort, so there will never be an agreement which one is preferred.

BLT is for people that like to be closest to MK and on the monorail loop
VGF is for people with lots of money and want the best and newest
Poly (not built yet) are for the fanatics that think Poly is the best
SSR is for people that like to be near DDD and horse themes and has the lowest costs in terms of purchase costs
OKW is the original DVC with the most mature members and has the lowest cost per room in terms of points
BCV has one of the best pools and closest to EPCOT
BWV has a scary clown slide and close to lots of entertainment on the boardwalk
HHI is for people that want HH
VB is for people that want Florida beaches
VGC is for people that want California
Aulani is for people that want hawaii
AKV is for people that want a animal theme
VWL is for people that like wilderness themes

As noted, they are all great resorts with their positive and negatives. It really depends on your personal preferences looking at factors like up front cost, yearly costs, how many points for a given villa size, location, decor, etc. The best value to buy for WDW usage is generally SSR resale but only if you're happy staying there most of the time (not that you'll likely have to but one needs to be prepared and realistic).

OP, By "suits" are you talking about the person/people at Disney that are the current VP in charge of DVC? If you are talking about the membership, then DVC Dude's post covered the basics, of your question. I see this is your first post, as DVC Dude said, "I could tell you, but it will start WW3 online"; I am wondering if you are trying to start a word war?

I read the OP's question as relating to the preferences of top DVC Management.

In which case it is whatever is actively selling at the time. DVC management doesn't seem to have a lot of sentimentalists in it. They do their stint in the division for a few years, and then move on.

My personal preference is to buy and use the cheapest points possible to stay in the nicest locations possible.

So if I can get a cheap SSR loaded contract and use the included points to stay at a GV in VGF than that is a great use of points.

I'm thinking that OP meant 'suites' instead of 'suits', referring to the villas.

OP, there's no one resort that's a clear favorite among all members. Each has their pros and cons, and it's largely a matter of personal taste. It comes down to which park you want to be close to, what theming you prefer, what dining options you'd like to have at the resort, etc.

It is personal preference. You will need to be much more specific if you want answers.

We started out with AK for the concierge and then didn't like the isolation.
We added BLT for walking distance to MK and then didn't care for the crowds.
We added BCV because we've found that being kid-less we're attracted to the WS.

It's hard to say which resort is the best because it depends on where you are in your life - do you have kids, is the MK still 'the bomb' or do you like to experience the different flavors of Europe and Asia without have to deal with the dirt or plane ride? Are you on VACATION and want the pool/sauna/spa/hot tub, free DVDs and movie night?

Only you know where you are in life - maybe - and where you are now won't be the same place a couple years from now. Life changes and so will your 'go to' resort venue.

We bought AKV and we love the resort but I always want to experience other resorts so we end up doing split stays. Now our favourites are BLT ( which I think will be replaced by VGF once we stay there), AKV and SSR treehouses.

We just bought VGF points a few weeks ago, and although I'll take your comment as a compliment, we consequently do NOT have 'lots of money'-- especially now AFTER buying into VGF, lol.

As for a preferred resort, I think you'll find that most people around here own a variety of resorts, giving flexibility for future trips. I think at one time BLT was the hottest resort, but I'm thinking Poly might eclispe that one.
