A Few of My Favorite Things, A Race & Scrapbook Pages, Too! FINAL THOUGHTS

Thank you...I have been trying to catch up on yours! I am loving the great connection you had to make it 7!

We truly ARE blessed. :goodvibes

I am LOVING your scrapbooking, what amazing memories of your trip! Sounds like extracurricular activities are in full swing at your house, I understand. :faint: It is great they have so many wonderful activities they love. :thumbsup2 I LOVED your meal at Narcoossee's... it looked like a beautiful place to have a great time!

#22 No TR update (will be included when I write about MNSSHP)

Admitting that I stole this picture from someone else...when I finally got mine it was late and it took forever to find a place to sit and mine was a melted mess...but a yummy mess it was!

Me too, but I forget it sometimes!

I think that is the best thing about any trip...the memories. The meal at Narcoossee's will be in my top 5 of all dining experiences at WDW. The joys of adult trips...getting to eat at special places like this and act like and adult...:rotfl2:

Things are always crazy busy around here, I am sure you totally understand.

No Update about #25 Tower of Terror...I will include that in the Villain Party and Race Report!

I really like how this page turned out! So far it has to be a favorite of mine! And I think I gave you a BIG teaser about the end of the race! :rolleyes1

Love the page too!

You are the queen of tease. But Judy follows at a close 2nd.

#21 Peoplemover

Again, not TR update this the Peoplemover. I will include it when I do my update for MNSSHP.

My pages will come out slower now...I spent the weekend celebrating Digital Scrapbook weekend at Mousescrappers...they had a lot of challenges and prizes going on...incentive! I had scrapped these pictures several times and just did not like how the page came out. Then this template was given as a participation prize and I reworked the page using it...and now I am happy with the result!

#20 Be Our Guest (Part 1): Strolling Along in MK

We were supposed to have breakfast before MK opened on Saturday morning at CP, but instead we cancelled the reservation (I know that killed me no main street/castle with photo bombers in the background or breakfast lasagna) and decided to sleep in just a little more and arrived at MK a little after 9:30. Cammy and I spent some time on Main Street looking through the stores (she needed to find a gift for her dh and I needed to find something for my ds#2), plus I got to have another one of those strolls down main street taking in all the Fall decorations without rushing to get anywhere.

Feeling a little hungry after some unsuccessful shopping, we decided that we needed a dole whip for breakfast.

With our breakfast in hand we strolled to Fantasyland because there were still 2 things left on my to do list. First had to be, my favorite show, Philharmagic.

This time when I recycled my 3D glasses, I made sure they were the 3D glasses and not my sunglasses. On my last trip I dropped my sunglasses in the barrel and then had to come back. Thank goodness it was a great CM who dumped the barrel and sorted through until we found my glasses.

Afterwards, we strolled over to Enchanted Tales with Belle, where the wait was 20 minutes.

I loved all the little things in the theming and I enjoyed the show, the other guests&not so much. We got in with one of THOSE tour groups who were quite rude during the performance. One man actually forced himself between Cammy and I so sit down?!?! I kid you not a grown large man decided that he wanted to sit where we were sitting and forced himself in between us. We both gave him one of our teacher looks, but he was immune. Nothing like being sat upon&LOL. The CM was equally shocked because she tried to get him to move, and he ignored her too. I spent most of the performance not really paying attention to the show but taking in all the details in the library. Cammy paid attention, and came out shaking her head about the behavior of the adults and children in the performance&I laughed and explained to her about THOSE tour groups. We then strolled over to Gastons and looked around in the tavern and gift shop.

I really wanted to try the brew, but I knew we were eating soon&so I passed (saving it for next time, look for it to be on my next countdown list). After we finished it was just about time for lunch reservations at Be Our Guest. We decided to sit down in stroller parking and people watch until the person we were waiting for to join us for lunch arrived.

:rotfl2: You just talked about how there aren't a lot of cliffhangers and then you leave off on your next update on your way to Be Our Guest. Way to cliffhanger again Tammie! popcorn:: Waiting! popcorn::

Okay so maybe it was a little cliff hanger! LOL...but honestly this trip was not full of cliff hanger moments...and I liked it that way!

#20 Be Our Guest (Part 2): A Meal with a Friend

Sitting people watching was a lot of fun and we got a few laughs. It was not long before I saw her approaching and called out to the friend that we were meeting for lunch. Betsy and I both had huge smiles on as we met for the first time after being online friends for several years. Our friendship actually started when we both were taking Christmas trips to WDW a few years ago, we had planned to meet up then but my family boycotted my touring plan on the day we were supposed to meet, I have since reformed my OCD Disney Princess ways and become an experienced Disney Queen. Our friendship hit a bumpy patch last winter and it became more private. Thankfully, Betsy never allowed things come between us. Throughout this last training year, she continued to check in on me and help me with my training for the ToT, and even in my lowest training and personal moments in August she showed me what a friend does in the hard times, stands by you and works things out. I learned many valuable lessons from her that I had forgotten, that there are always 2 sides to every story, how to apologize and admit my not so nice ways. She was planning to come a few weeks later, but decided that I might need a cheerleader for the race&and she had been cheering me along on the sidelines via the computer, why not move her trip up and be there for me!

I was really disappointed at the trip that was derailed. I had searched and watched for many weeks trying to find a BOG dinner reservation&lots of hard work stalking the Disney Dining page. My stalking paid off, but in the end I canceled that reservation because it was not going to work with this trip. As we approached the entrance to BOG, the LINE WAS HUGE

and I was a little bit nervous. Betsy (a true expert when in comes to WDW) had found the link to the test phase WDW was conducting to make FP reservations for BOG during lunch and we managed to find the right number off my reservations to make it work! Just in case I had printed off the confirmation and nervously had it in my hands as we approached the check in area. BETSY finding this was make up for the missed out dinner reservation! Guess what, I did not even need the paper&our reservations where there and we got to walk right past that huge line and through the door where we were lead to the ordering area.

I did not enjoying the new ordering system at all, I felt rushed by the CM the entire and got so flustered that I did not order the French Onion soup that I wanted to try and Cammy ended up ordering the wrong thing. Betsy was a pro though.

After ordering, Betsy led us to a table in the Rose Gallery

where it would be easier to talk&and talk we did. I think we were all (Cammy included) so nervous that it was endless chatter. Lunch arrived not long afterwards&Betsy and I ordered the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich - served warm on a baguette with horseradish sour cream and Pomme Frites.

I really enjoyed the sandwich. There seems to be lots of complaints about the hard bread, but I love the hard crusty texture of good French bread&and the horseradish really made the meat! Cammy ordered the braised pork&

she said that it was really well seasoned and very flavorful. Of course Cammy and both started in on hydration for the race that night as Betsy made us drink, drink, drink. For dessert, we had to CAKE IT UP before the race since after all we are cupcake runners and not rum runners. What a fabulous chocolate treat and the grey stuff really is delicious! When we finished eating, we went from room to room in BOG so we could see everything. Another great theming job, Disney!

After we left BOG Cammy and I decided that it was time to head back to CBR for that afternoon rest before tonights big race. We stopped to take a few pictures in front of the castle together&

but sadly PP lost the pictures&grrr and neither of us thought to have pictures done with our own cameras. Then it was another stroll down Main Street pointing things out to each other&sometime during the stroll Cammy and Betsy lost me when I stopped to live in the moment a little too much&LOL

but we found each other again near Town Hall and I said my goodbye to MK for this trip.

This time knowing that there would be other trips&and parted ways for the time being with Betsy. As we walked to the bus my nerves about the upcoming race really started racing&

What a great lunch and meet! That was an exciting post!

I was suppose to be there two weeks before you got there Tammie, but Federal Jury Duty got in the way so why not celebrate being done with it by flying down to FL and cheer you on!:thumbsup2

Exciting....YES! It was a great lunch and even better meet up. I just wish we would have had more time together!

I wasn't sure if it was before and after...remember when you decided to be my on the spot cheerleader I was not in too great of an emotional state! I so appreciate you cheering me on...and the great reservations at BOG for lunch....:worship::worship::worship: You certainly made a derailed trip that I was not looking forward too magical for me and for Cammy! I am so looking forward to spending more days in WDW with you...and our group of queenly Cupcake Runners!

#20 Be Our Guest

I am not sure that I am happy with the layout yet. Something seems a little off...the great thing about digital scrapbooking is I can change and tweak all I want!

You are the queen of tease. But Judy follows at a close 2nd.

I saw this the other day and I just have to say MOI NEVER has cliffhangers...:rolleyes2

Tammie, LOVE your scrapbook pages, they are going to look fabu when you finish. Your pics of BOG were beautiful and what a score on the FP ressie. I am so thankful you and Betsy have each other to cheer and support each other. Sometimes no matter how old we are, we need reminders of what we know and what is right. I have said it before, so I will spare you both. :flower3:

Looking forward to reading about the race. :goodvibes

If one were to ask, I am a cupcake type runner...someone pointed out that there are 2 types of runners... a cupcake runner is are those that run for ALL the things the race has to offer...So before we left MK on Saturday to rest up for the ToT 10-miler we had to CAKE IT UP!

It was totally worth changing some things around to be able to be there for you and support you!

Oh goodness. Chris has been looking over my shoulder at TOT run stuff and decided to watch a bunch of YouTube videos about it. Now he wants to do it. And of course, what do you get when you poke the bear? My OCD kicked in.

So question for you Tammie, would you recommend the way you did it (vacation first, then run) or the other way around? We were thinking run first then vacation, just so we can indulge in the food/alcohol that is all things Disney in our park days after the race.

But it looks like it may have worked out fine for you, so I'd like your thoughts. (Along with any planning and/or training tips)

YAY for you! Just a perfect excuse to get dude back to the world! Jealous...I really want to run Wine and Dine next year...

I did my share of indulging and it really did not effect the race too much at all. Of course I was not running to beat any records that I placed upon myself...Remember I am a cupcake runner there for the entire experience not some time on a piece of paper or a place number. Also, this was not an OCD trip by any means...but I did everything I wanted to do in the parks and did not over do myself at all. I can see both ways of doing the trip...but honestly I was so tired and sore the next few days (took me probably a week to recover) that I think running and then going home the day after was the best thing for me.

But it looks like it may have worked out fine for you, so I'd like your thoughts. (Along with any planning and/or training tips)

As for training...well I subscribe to the Galloway method...run/walk and I love it...it makes me successful (there are some that look down on this method...but he is the trainer for rundisney). There is no way that I could ever run a 5K straight let alone 10 miles. But you have to go with what works for you and learn what you can and can't do. I started with the C25K and felt like a failure...when I switched to Galloway 5K I suddenly felt that a 5K was possible...then I started on the 10K and was getting close to completing the 10K program when the stress fracture happened. Once I could get running/walking again...I had about 4 weeks and each week I bumped up the weekly run distance a mile or so to get me to 8 miles right before the race. If you can do 8 miles they say you can do 10...the rush of the race will push you through. I recommend training for 5K, then 10K and then a 1/2 using the apps...they set you up on a great training program with the apps...telling you how much to run each training session working yourself up to each race distance....either the Galloway (lolo app) or the Couch series will set you up. Also if you look on the rundisney site they have training calendars.

I can't wait to hear about the Turkey Trot in a few weeks.
