Why cant the Magic do Alaska, no ice rating? And is it getting magic port holes for the insides during this renovation?

There's been no announcement about magic portholes in the drydock. However, Disney usually does try to hold back a surprise or two for an unveiling.

They did a interview on the ship about the magic portholes, they are not doing them because space issues in the cabins. The screens will cut into the sq ft.

I may be remembering incorrectly, but wasn't it DCL's habit to release future itineraries in October? And last year was kind of an outlier in that not only were they late but they also did not release the full year as in the past. Of course that may be explained by the fact that they now have a much more complicated sailing schedule with essentially two wandering ships in addition to their accustomed routes.

I never thought of them as "wandering ships" but so true. Now i have an image of a ship with a giant stick sticking off the aft with a giant hobo sac attached to the stick, travelling around the big open seas.

The May 2013 Transatlantic cruise wasn't released until January 2012 - in the second half of releases. I also think the 2014 Europe cruises weren't released until Feb. 2013. I personally don't think DCL will return to Europe in 2015, but time will tell.

DCL started splitting up the release dates with the 2012 cruises in 2010. They haven't released the Magic's summer cruise dates until after the first of the year since then. In The 2012 summer schedule was released 4/7/11.

The offer was either a free cruise on the Magic by May OR 35% of a 7-Night Bahama/Caribbean cruise by October 2015.

We were told the 2015 dates should be out in December 2013 or January 2014 - obviously, we want those dates!

We were told the 2015 dates should be out in December 2013 or January 2014 - obviously, we want those dates!

I suspect that means DCL won't release the dates before December. After that, DCL will release the dates when they want to. I'm wondering if other cruise lines have released their 2015 dates yet. DCL does keep an eye on the competition so that may give them "incentive" to release the dates already. Assuming the Dream and Fantasy cruises are the same ol, same ol, they might as well just go ahead and release them.

I'm glad I booked the dummy cruise... At least I can keep putting money into it until they are released... I have managed to persuade a few of my Aussie friends to come along to so they are all waiting for me to tell them to book...hehe
Going to be exciting getting more Aussies aboard ..yay..!!!

DW and I too are anxiously awaiting Disney's announcement for 2015. Anyone think Disney may alter the Fantasy's itinerary any? Say, throw in some new islands to visit, or a 10 / 11 / 12 day cruises every now and then?

The Rumor is that the Fantasy may be doing the Eastern itineraries and the Magic may be doing the Western itineraries. Personally, I hope that it is not the case but there's some evidence that suggests that it will be.
