Can you still get old FP's if you're doing the MB test?

Given that MBs and FP+ is still in testing, I.e. there may be issues with it and, at the moment you seem to be limited to 3 a day, can we still use normal Fast Passes on our December trip?

I am sure I have read of people doing this but how would we do this if we have Magic Bands and the old Fast Pass machines accept the cards?

Thanks. :)

Currently yes, but no one knows what will be going on by December. Right now they issue you the magic bands, but they also give you "back up" KTTW cards when you check in. Right now the KTTW cards work at the FP machines just like the always did even if you do not use them to enter the parks. That could change at any time (either by them cutting of FP access, or by them no longer issuing KTTW cards). Whether you "agree" to test is pretty much a non-issue now. When we were at WDW the week before last, those that did not agree to test were still being issued magic bands at check in. The only difference was that they had no opportunity to customize them and were stuck with grey bands. Just FYI- we also ran into several families who were told at check in when they were given their lovely grey bands that they were not allowed to pull old FPs and needed to set up FP+ on their magic bands and stick to that- they were thrilled when we told them that was not the case and their back up KTTW cards would work.

Thanks. Surely they would have to enable the system where you can schedule extra FP+'s on the day (on top of the 3 pre-scheduled) before they stopped people using the normal Fast Passes? i.e. full FP+ functionality.

Most believe 3 will be the limit once fp+ is fully implemented. We were given bands upon check in as well as KTTW cards, and our tickets. We had gotten our tickets through travelocity, and linked everything without a problem. I liked the bands, but I can see it will take along time before the system is completely operational and flowing well. We were "bad" and double dipped, last weeks crowds were horrendous and so much more than we expected or have encountered on previous trips including the glitch the other day it was pretty much a mess!

I should roll my eyes when I say this, but...

I talked to a CM this weekend, and she said that double dipping will still be active when I go in Dec. She reminded me this is all still in the testing phases, and with so many unknowns, they are making the KTTW cards available and the MB and FP+ are just enhancements to the current system.

Whether that is true or not, who on earth knows? :confused3

Fingers crossed that double-dipping is still allowed in Dec. With a toddler in tow you never know when they will want to do something outside of "the plan" and if it can easily be accomodated that would be better. We'll see......

I would like to add that paper FP for popular attractions like TSMM, RnRC, Test Track and Soarin are running out MUCH earlier than previously.

In the last two weeks the span that paper FP were GONE was:
TSMM - 9:25 to 10:50 am. Usually gone between 10:00 and 10:15 at the latest
RnRC - 11:10am to 2:15pm Usually gone between 11:30 and 12:30
Test Track - 10:25 am to 12:15 pm. Usually gone between 10:40 and 11:30
Soarin' - 10:15 to 11:55 am. Usually gone between 10:30 and 11:30am

Disney cut back on paper Fastpasses in Epcot beginning October 7 and the times that FP were gone immediately dropped by 3 full hours.
