DisneyBound Shoes?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the Disboards ^^

I'm planning a Disney trip for me and a girlfriend, and we're both planning to DisneyBound (dress in outfits inspired by Disney characters).

I've been DisneyBounding for a while now, but mostly for parties and such, so I can usually wear whatever shoes I think look best. However, I don't think platform heels will work for days in the parks, haha.

Any advice on what shoes to wear? They need to be cute, but also comfortable! Thanks!

I see people wear everything from tennis shoes to flip flops to Crocs to wedges. On the average, you can walk up to 10 miles a day depending on what park you're in, how far your room is from the bus stop, and if you go shopping or to another location for meals. I would recommend a good tennis shoe or sneaker that is neutral like white or black. As a woman, you can tell when another woman's feet are killing her because of the shoes she is wearing. It's not worth the foot pain to ruin a great Disney experience because you're trying to DisneyBound an outfit. Most of the time the shoes don't show up in the picture anyway. Have great time!

if you have a pair of vans or converse or keds, you could coordinate the shoe colour to the outfit. also toms. i suggest any easy shoes that don't come untied easily. tennis shoes can get a bit much, i've learned they rub the back of your feet from walking with the material they're made of but vans/keds/converse/toms don't do that. lots of people like sandals but some rides could make them fall off and i've never been a fan of sandals for disneybounding. also the park is very clean but not all of the people are so if you get a food or drink dropped on your foot/stepped in you'll really be wanted close toed. hope i helped :)

When I see someone Disney Bounding I focus on their clothes, headwear and accessories. I don't really notice their shoes, probably because I figure most want to wear comfortable shoes. You could wear plain sneakers and then co-ordinate the shoelaces to the character.

When we went on our first trip last year I googled what shoes to wear. I was very worried about ten days walking nonstop in the parks because we had just gone to Vegas and I switched between 4 different pairs there and had so many blisters my feet were too swollen to put any shoes on to go on plane home. Very painful. Anyways someone recommended Keen sandals, they are like a sport sandal. Turns out I had a pair in my closet lol. Anyways wore those the whole trip and never had a problem.

I was there in June. Wore tennis shoes on the plane and in the parks the first day. BLISTERS!!!! Wore Earth Spirit sandals after that. My sandals are leather. They have adjusting velcro straps over the toes, over the top of the foot (ankle area) and behind the ankle. Bought them at WalMart. Not a fan of WalMart, but I was desperate for comfy sandals.

I have a pair of croc mary janes that I wore that were super comfy for walking and looked cute

I've seen a few people wearing yellow crocks in place of Minnie's shoes... cute, and goes with the "theme" of the outfit - true to pics. :-)

I alternate shoes to help my feet. But I wear crocs and flip flops most of the time when in the parks. I was a nay sayer against crocs until I actually wore them for the first time while touring. I shall never look back.

Having the same problem. Planning disneybound outfits for our Sept trip. The suggested shoes are soooo NOT park friendly! I was thinking of ballerina slippers of various colors, a few sandals that I currently have that I know are comfy and maybe a pair of white Keds type sneakers. Planning on taking my tried and true sneakers as back ups and also Moleskin and bandaids just in case.
btw- having so much fun looking for and putting together outfits! DD13 and I each found Animal Kingdom themed outfits today... only $5 each on clearance! I had jewelery that will go perfectly with my dress and DD found an elephant necklace and matching earrings to go with her animal print dress, for only $9!

@crazymomof4 that's awesome!! I'm still working on my outfits (which is scary, because time's a'ticking). I'm going as Sleepy, Tarzan, Tiger Lily, and Rapunzel :D I figured a pair of tan TOMS will go well enough with each outfit, but I do need to find some moleskin! My mom has some, so I'll ask where she got it :)

Thanks! Post pix or descriptions of progress with your outfits! I love idea-sharing! My DD has a white beret but she doesn't want to disbound as "France Pavillion". So I'm going to borrow it. I have red shorts and a blue tee. Going to combine those with a kerchief to tie around my neck. Ordered some inexpensive Eifel Tower earrings off ebay. I can see me with some bright red lipstick and.... voila!-- France Pavillion!

I love the concept of using what you have + a few bargain finds to create a disneybound outfit!

I take flip flops and tennis shoes. I saw some DB on pinterest and some had flip flops with the outfit. Such a cute idea.

I've worn the same pair of Sanuk Yoga Mat Sandals for the past two years for several different trips & they're really comfy. :thumbsup2

Before I got them, I'd wear Converse which I do not recommend, even w/good socks (though if you are going w/sneakers, good socks will be better).

My saving grace has been the hot tub at the end of the night so if you have one at your hotel or in the room, do take advantage of it at least for your feet! :)

I wore TOMS for half of my trip and they were SO comfortable. They were more comfortable than my $100 nike running shoes; go figure. I've seems some really neat Disney TOMS people have made.
