We're going November 14th through 20th this year and I was wondering what you all think the chances are I can get a walk up for breakfast at the Crystal Palace on a weekday? It is a very slow time, so I'm going to give it a try at least.

Why try to walk up when it is easy enough to see if there is availability on-line?:confused3

We were there about that time of year last November and we had a difficult time just making an ADR for breakfast that week. I suggest trying to figure which day you will be in the MK and make a reservation now. Can't imagine any reason why you would rather go there and wait for maybe hours to get in.

I just searched the Dining reservations for breakfast at Crystal Palace for 3. For the dates 14th - 20th, there are no available reservations. My guess would be getting a walk in would be slim to none. My suggestion would be to stalk the ADR site and see if you can score one between now and then.

1) Even in "slow times" CP is seldom a walk-up.
2) You could try, but don't depend upon it.
3) Plan for an alternative.

Have you tried looking for a reservation for 4 instead of 3? Some DIS-ers report better luck with even-numbered parties, as the reservation system tries to fill all available seats and doesn't automatically pick up a 4-top for a party of 3.

You could also check the November 2013 cancelled ADR thread if you haven't already. We will be there the same time as you. While It is a slow time of the year free dining is being offered so my guess is more reservations than normal are being made.

I would totally check online everyday for reservations, call too. I wouldn't depend on a walk up at CP. pixiedust: Good Luck!!!

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm not planning our park days this time around so I didn't want any ADRs that would require me to go to a specific park on a specific day (we don't do park hoppers either). Though it would be very nice to get to do CP breakfast, it's not an absolute must.

I thought Free Dining for this travel time was currently only being offered to Canadian residents? They must have offered it to everyone earlier in the year and I missed the boat - I'm guessing.

Oh well, it will be worth an inquiry. If it's no-go, then on we'll just eat somewhere else. :)

We were able to walk up there for breakfast that same week in 2011. We called, and we were told no, but when we walked up we were seated immediately. It is not impossible!

True, I do it often. People are sitting on the porch waiting and waiting and I have been seated immediately, many times. Same with T-Rex and Cali Grille. The only place that I could not get seated no matter how hard I tried was the Mexican place in Coronado Springs.

See, there's always hope for a little bit of magic :tink:

Except for holidays and typically busy seasons we usually do walk-ups and either get seated right away or have only a short wait. Trying to make an ADR can be frustrating, but the recent changes in policy may make that easier. As already suggested, it never hurts to have a back-up plan, though.

I kept checking the ADR site about once a week and sure enough a spot opened up! So, I got an ADR for breakfast at the exact time and day I wanted. I think I got pretty lucky!
