Oh Brenda what gorgeous family photos - you must be so happy to be spending some time with your son
I remember when we were hopping onto the Snow White ride at DL and he was trying to call you and you were losing your cell signal - I was beside myself! - I remember being over the moon that you got to speak to each other
Your photos have totally made my day
Thanks Linda! You remembered that - you even remembered where we were - good memory!! He was on a satellite phone and I couldn't get the call since it kept dropping. Oh my gosh! I was so happy.
I'm glad your son is home safely! Enjoy your time with him!
Thanks Melissa! We certainly will!
I know just what you mean by not allowing Em to go off anywhere. We're the same way with Mackie, lucky for me she doesn't really like to go anywhere without one of us.
We both bit the bullet this last trip while Maroo and I went on ToT (Mackie HATES that ride), Mackenzie went to get a cinnamon roll she had been wanting to get. Leave it to my daughter to put carbs before her own feelings of security!!
I'm glad Em made it back to the room safely, another reason I'm grateful for Disney, you feel a bit safer there with your kiddos than any other vacation spot.
I loved seeing the pics of your son again, you have a beautiful family. Will you get to see him again before he deploys back out?
And Ms. Kat, I know exactly what you mean by telling your son to call. I do the same thing with my son and next time he tells me he's an adult I'm gonna use your line. I don't care how much of an adult he is, I still want to know he's gotten somewhere safely.
Thanks Camille!! Now that Em's had a taste of freedom, no telling what our next trip will be like!
She may want to escape more.
Mackenzie hates ToT?? What? I'll fill her spot since it is one of my favorites rides.
Thanks so much for your kind comments! Hopefully he'll spend his next year in Ft. Bliss in Tx and not be deployed again. We shall see.
YAY for your son being home!!!!!!!!!!! From one military family to another... thank you!!!
Thanks Khaleesi!! From one proud Army mom to you - thank you for your family's military service as well.
Yay!! I'm so glad that your son has returned home safely. He has all my gratitude. I hope you guys are having lots of fun!
Thank you Jennifer! Fun, laughter, eating, lots of stories, yeah, we are enjoying all of that.
So great that your son is home for a visit. That must be so wonderful. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to have him so far away. I just want to thank him for his service! Thanks for posting the pictures!
Thank you Mary Ellen. I appreciate your kind words.
I will join the chorus thanking your son for his service and that I am glad that he returned home safely.
A few replies ago, you had asked me to post once I started my first trip report - I finally started it tonight, and the link is in my signature.
Thanks so much!! Oh, thank you for sharing that. I will definitely check it out!
So happy to read your son is home safe and sound! A huge thank you to him for his service and a thank you to his family for the sacrifices they make as well. You look like your beaming with joy to have him back home!
Thanks Ashley! I'm a pretty happy mom, that's for sure!
I didn't know you had a son in the military, I'm glad he's home safe even if just a vacation. Huge thanks for not only his service but also your families sacrifice of his time.
Thanks! He's my baby boy! Thank you for your supportive and kind comments.
Here are more thanks to Chad for his service for our country. I know that you and you, Emmy & Michael are enjoying this precious leave time with him.
Thank you Kathy!! We definitely are... I just wish we had more time together. I do have to share him with his friends, his wife, his other relatives.. you know, it's not all about me!!
Thanks again!
How wonderful that you get to have your son for a few weeks. Thank both him and you for his service.
I also wanted to pick your
Disneyland brain! My company is sending me to a conference in LA in March and I just had to stay an extra day. I am thinking about heading to DL for the day! It would be either Monday, March 17th or Tuesday, March 18th. How would the crowds be then? Worth traveling from LA for? (I'm staying right by the convention center) And if so-- how difficult would it be to get from LA to Anaheim? I'd really, really, really rather not rent a car! (I suppose I could travel from LA to Anaheim on Monday, stay on property Monday night, and then go to the parks on Tuesday....hmmm....sorry to be off topic!)
Thank you Kylie!
Tuesday crowds any time are usually less, Mondays in March shouldn't be too bad. I would definitely go! You will be about an hour or more from Anaheim if you are staying in Downtown LA. (I suggest going to Anaheim the night before and stay at a hotel near DL to maximize your time.)
You would likely have to rent a car since a taxi or shuttle service may be expensive. They may have the trains that go from LA to Anaheim (I know there is a station at the Angel Stadium) but I'm not too familiar with those.
No worries, glad to help. Although, I don't think I was much help!
But bottom line, go the night before, stay over near DL and then enjoy the parks. I would suggest park hopping to CA Adventure as well.
