Buying at BWV vsBLT

I would say BLT is a much better value. lower dues, longer contract,

When BWV was selling in high $50's low, $60's per point, i would have said BWV. No that it;s selling in the mid $80's... it seems almost absurd to pay that much per point for a contract that is less than 30 years long now. You barely have time to make up your principle cost

IMO the lower dues at BLT existed during the "heavy selling period" under prior management but now that it is over, the dues at BLT has increased by over 6% for the last 2 years.

Frankly re-sale at BLT is more available
I agree.

As of October 6, there were 51 BLT and 41 BWV DVCs listed on 6 popular DVC resale sites for sale.

However, this has changed dramatically. In late April during the BWV feeding frenzy, there were 68 BLT and only 13 BWV DVC listings!

What are the six resale sites? I only know of the Timeshare Store and Fidelity.

My personal favorite is the one recommended by Bill which is Dvcresale.com. I liked their web page format better. They are more accurate....the timeshare store has my MF listed wrong, and they have side information that is useful, (How long the resort contract is, maintenance fees). I also love how quickly they respond to email. Great attention to detail. The timeshare store was my second favorite.

I had this same debate this past week but in the end chose BLT and JUST emailed my signed contract to TSS today and it just was sent for ROFR. I felt the 18 years outweighed all of the other perks of BCV or BWV. Plus I can always book there if I wanted to.

The good news is that regardless of your choice they both have one of the biggest advantages which is walking to a park verses the bus. We are brand new to DVC but not Disney. We have gone to DW as a family for more that 15 years now (once a year) for about 2 weeks each trip. The single biggest aggravation about Disney for us is waiting for/dealing with the buses. So, at BWV you only need to get two buses and that is for MK and AK. We ended up liking the BC the most mainly for that reason even while our kids were young because it cut out bus trips. MK trips are a little rough with the crowds but the Studios and Epcot are enjoyable walks. We recently bought at BWV our second favorite resort (close second). One more thing to think about with family trips and where you want to buy. When I look back and remember our trips I don't remember the 123rd time I rode Space Mountain or the 86th time I rode Test Track but I sure remember the family card games sitting on the BW and the mini-golf battles and the breakfasts at the BW Bakery together.

Agree. I remember my son going on his first water slide @ BC. The small one followed by the big pirate slide our next trip! My mom's first Disney trip with us was to BC & that was her first water slide, too!
