***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

Considering we've had snow for the last 3 Halloweens I don't think it's too early to be looking to get away from it, but I LOVE snow and I never try to get away from it. Snow with all those lights sounds amazing, even if the snow is just bubbles.

I'm not positive on the exact time the lights go on, but I do know that the sun isn't going to set on November 18th until 5:31pm - they are closer to the equator there so their day is a bit longer.

Yes we have had a couple bad storms the end of October beginning of November the past few years. But I'm not anticipating that again. We bought a generator so the weather will be good now.

And NJ snow totals make me laugh. I have a friend down in NJ and everytime we have no school she laughs. She said it just about melts and the kids hardly get to go sledding. :p

For me the word snow means pretty much stuck at home.
I know for people that live further north they are laughing. It's all about perspective.

I'm sure it will be pretty. Like I said, it won't accumulate. Hopefully it will be nice and warm. Kind of like rain isn't fun but if it is sunny and raining it's kind of exciting to walk around out there.

Good night all. My Carriage is turning into a pumpkin!

Can someone help answer a question? I made the mistake of ordering a carry on bag online and I did not read the exact measurements I just assumed since it said carry on it was the right size. I have never even been in an airport let alone on a plane so I don't know the proper flying procedure :confused3 but im flying AirTran and they say carry on size is 24 inches long X 16 inches wide X 10 tall. my bag is 22 in long X 11in wide and 12 in tall  will this still be considered a carry on since its smaller overall. its a soft rolling duffel :sad2:

Flip it around so that the tall is wide and the wide is tall. :lmao:

I'd be shocked if it was a problem. I'm sure a more expert flyer will answer you. Or you can call the airline. But again they don't take out a tape measure and I would have my arguement ready with a big smile. :wave2:

Good night all. My Carriage is turning into a pumpkin!

I'm in a part of NJ with a pretty high elevation so when it snows it usually sticks and stays for a bit. We are a good 5 degrees colder than the next town down the hill from us. Since my driveway has a 30 degree slope (yep really, totally against codes, someone must have been paying someone off when it was built), snow means I'm stuck at home too, but sleigh riding on my driveway ROCKS! Since we home school our schedule isn't really wrecked when something like that hits. Hubby parks his car at the bottom of the driveway and sleds down to it if he really has to go to work - he has a Subaru and it really is good in the snow.

We have had 3 major power outages in the last 2 years: 12 days, 8 days and 5 days. My kids are convinced that Halloween will be cancelled yet again. We have the generator ready and we are stocked up on gas and supplies already. My 13 year old has a list that he keeps checking to make sure we have everything we need.

My carriage turned into a pumpkin a couple of hours ago, but my hubby is on a boy scout trip with my oldest so the bed feels weird without him. I do have to coach in the am though so I should go get some sleep.

We'll be doing the same thing. I was told by people that work there that the lights will be on for almost an hour after the official close so we will have plenty of time to enjoy the lights after Fantasmic. Well sunset in Orlando mid-November isn't until 5:30, and I heard the lights go on closer to 6pm. Even with the FP+ you won't have time to see the lights before the show, but you will have plenty of time to see them after. I heard that you should give yourself a good hour or more if you like to see all the details. There will be photographers there to take your pictures and you'll want to experience the snow and see the the lights dancing to the music (I think that happens every 20 minutes or so). Santa Goofy might be there too. Good, I'm so excited to see them, my kids will freak out.

Thanks guys. I don't know why I never thought I this before last night. Lol. Glad we will be able to do both. :)

*snort*, we can tie all the heritage talk into the World Showcase at Epcot if is makes you feel better. Of course that will just get me complaining that Ireland isn't represented - darn English ;)

Are you kidding me?!? I freak out that bagpipes are in Canada! :rotfl: And, seriously, I love bagpipes, but if any of you like Celtic music, check out Lorenna McKennitt (sp). She is fabulous!!!

As for American or not: my family background is totally mutt. Yup, me and the kids are a little bit of everything: Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English, German, Polish, Hungary (that's the Jewish part), and even Cherokee Native American (my ancestors escaped the Trail of Tears - they could pass as white and hid in the mountains of Virginia). So, we're mutts and definitely Americans. Hubby, however: his grandparents were right off the boat from Italy. They never refused to speak American (not English....totally different language. :rotfl2:). He is 6 and a half feet tall.....yup, that's right a very, very tall Italian. His mom's family is from Sweden.....the original settlers in our small county in the 1600s. Kinda cool.

I love World Showcase and can't wait to get there for the food (oh, and shopping....)!!!

Actually one is Roger, but he's my Irish Jewish cousin. It was really strange going to his Bar Mitzvah in Atlantic City and hearing the Irish brogues, especially with Rodney Dangerfield there. I swear I am not kidding, one of the most confusing days of my young life.

LMAO You know, I just spit soda of my keyboard!!! lol The kids and I recognize ourselves as Jewish and Kyle (my middle child) has been spending a lot of time at the Community Center lately. He asked me if he was gonna have his Bar Mitzvah next year. I said "have you done the 6 years of Hewbrew school?" He said no and I laughed. I told him we'll celebrate at home, but, no, he's not getting the huge party all his new friends are getting. Kids.....

As for Disney planning: I am going to finish packing today and make my LGMH. And I have to work on the budget and September financials, too, but I can do that while we watch Disney movies (and Iron Man 3, but that still counts cause Disney owns Marvel, right?).

36 MORE DAYS!!!! I can't believe I started my countdown in the 200's!!! What an exciting time for the November crew. Our trips are almost here. (insert little girls giddy laugh here) :)

I agree. Especially for a soft- sided bag. It just has to fit into the overhead bin. Should not be a problem.

I know; 30 days here. My family thinks I'm crazy, I'm packing, buying "plane entertainment", adjusting ressies, and talking about what they want to ride first ...all the time. Why is nobody else as excited as me? ;) Well, y'all are!!! Hope everyone's trip is perfect in every way

Me too! I am a total Christmas freak! Can not wait to see all the lights! Oh and my girls too! Lol

The Lights stay on for quite a while after the park's official closing time- they really want to give people a chance to see them after Fantasmic ends. You should be able to see them either before or after Fantasmic with no problems.

We usually spend 30-45 minutes just hanging out watching the Lights and enjoying the music and atmosphere. You will love it- it is so much more than just a bunch of lights. Hard to describe the WOW factor to folks who haven't experienced it yet.

While this is technically accurate, plan on 60 minutes to see Fantasmic and to get out of the theater.( nightmare!)

Also be aware that the buses only run for a little while after park closing time (official time). Last year we lingered at the lights and had to squeeze on a bus because it was the last one of the night....

This year we rented a car so we do not have to stress at the bus stop , possibly in the rain, to squeeze on a bus...

After all the issues with my log in info after doing the BOG FP+ I was very hesitant to look to see if it stuck, and I didn't see it in MDE. Today I logged into the BOG lunch link and it was still there! I printed the page and will bring it with me just in case.

I don't have FP+ set up for the day we will be in MK, (we are using a CM pass to get in that day) is there a way to set up FP+ with that? Is that why the lunch isn't showing in my MDE?

Same here 31 days for us :woohoo:

So exciting got our MM yesterday and MB's will ship Monday can't wait to see them. We're working on our packing lists, suitcases are out so glad the cooler Fall weather is here :goodvibes

Looks like we will be at some of the same parks on the same day!!! Here's to sunny and happy days :)

Same to you we went 2 years ago and the weather was perfect. It looks like a few of us Diser's have some of the same park days.

You wouldn't believe some of the things people carry on. Yours sounds like it will be no problem. The worst that would happen is they make you gate check it and you pick it up when you arrive.

Figmentchick - can you put a link to the park days list in the first or second post so we can find it easily?

Thanks.
