When can we just go home? The worst trip ever!

Let me say that this had to be the worst trip ever. I believed I had planned for everything but the one thing I didn't.

It started out great. We left Sept. 21 at 6 a.m. to Birmingham, Alabama. The drive was quick and easy. We arrived in Birmingham on time and found our hotel quickly. It was an extended stay and a mighty nice one too. :thumbsup2

It was in a nice area in Cahaba area in Birmingham. We ate dinner at the Fox and the Hound and spent the evening at the hotel relaxing.

On the 22, we left early and grabbed breakfast at Mcdonalds and headed out on the road. That's when we realized how long it was going to be. It was quite a way to Kissimmee.

Finally, I see the welcome to Florida sign! I am so excited! The closer we got to Orlando, the closer the sky clouded up. Then, it opened up in a flood. My mom was texting me constantly "Are you there yet?"

We get to Kissimmee and find our hotel, Champions World Resort. It didn't look like much from the outside, but it was really nice from the inside. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, tv, nice bed, and everything we needed. There were several pools and it was located on a drive near many restaurants. :)

We ate at CiCi's the first night because we didn't feel like driving anymore and chilled out for the night.

The next day, SeaWorld and the best day of the whole trip.

Gosh, that really stinks that you had a bad trip! I hope you were able to keep at least some of your plans, because it sure sounded like a fun time.

How did you like the afternoon tea at Grand Floridian? I was following along on your other thread and I am really curious to know what you thought about it. I mentioned it on the other thread, but you may not have seen it. Sorry if I seem repetitive! Aaanyway...I'm taking my mom for her birthday and I thought it might be something nice for us to do.:)

Glad you enjoyed Sea World, I've never visited. It's on my list, though! Isn't that the place that has Turtle Trek?

That stinks you had a bad trip.

I remember reading your PTR report and I wanted to see how you liked the Garden View Tea Room and Splitsville? I am thinking of doing both on my next trip and would love a recent review. Also was BOG as good as everyone is saying??

Ooh, I'd love to know more about the tea room!

Also, I follow your twitter and vlog, and it said that you checked in at like, all four parks in one day, but in your vlog, you said you got to sick to do anything but MK and HS! Did you make it to epcot/ak beyond the check in? I hope you did!pixiedust:

You have a vlog of your trip??? I hope you post the links to the videos here. They always make reading trip reports more exciting :goodvibes

Let us know if you made it to all 4 parks in one day. I have planned to do that a few times, but always manage to get myself off track.

Our last trip in 2011 we did all 4 parks in one day. We didn't plan on it, it was our last day and it just happened. It was a long day but we had a blast doing it. How did it work out for you?

Thank you for following me! :cheer2: I love to hear from my followers!

Actually no, we didn't make it to Epcot and AK. We started to and I just couldn't. My body felt too tired from being sick. I haven't brought it up even on my vlog because it's too personal, but my cousin had called me to tell me some upsetting news about things going on at home. But mostly, I was just tired from being sick and my body knew what I could and could not do.

We didn't keep many of the ressies for a variety of reasons. Ken didn't want to do Splitsville since he didn't see the point in bowling since we do that at home. *Sigh*

We both decided against the tea because for the price, it just wasn't worth it to us. We can get a nice tea service in Tulsa for half that.

BOG was the one I missed the most. I had 3 anxiety attacks in a row the night we went and by the time our ressie came, I wanted to get out of the park. Yes, I have anxiety and due to being sick (with something I'd rather not go into) it acted up severely. :crazy2:

The ressies we did keep were California Grill, Ohana, and Crystal Palace. We decided against Yachtsman because Ken only wanted one signature because he couldn't handle two dress up nights that trip and CG is his favorite. So I let him have his pick. I loved Ohana! It is so much fun and my favorite character was Stitch! The breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere was very beautiful. I recommend the raspberries in the fruit tray. They are divine.

We did enjoy:

Ride Barnstormer (3 times)
See Fantasyland....it is beautiful!
Ohana
Sea World
Crystal Palace
MNSSHP.....even though we got rained on
Have a romantic dinner with hubby at California Grill
Birmingham, Alabama

We do plan to go back at another time, possibly next year, unless we do Disneyland. Ken wants to shoot for a moderate this time. His favorite is POFQ.

I highly recommend Sea World, it is an awesome place! It was definitely on my bucket list. I loved seeing the dolphin shows, the pet shows, and the dolphin nursery is too cute. I cried during the Shamu show. It was that good.

Goodness, that's a shame. So if I understand this correctly, your 4Square check ins from Epcot, AK, and other places that day were all fabrication? :sad2: Strange, why do that?

I feel bad for you. It must suck, that every trip you plan ends up like this, rarely doing anything you planned and posted about months before.

Oh well, best of luck with your next trip. :)

California Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. Hopefully we will get there soon to check out the new menu. The food there is some of the best on property. It's nice to go and have a great meal after dealing with chicken fingers and crappy pizza found in the parks, although we try to stay away from that stuff. :rotfl: What did you have?

We went through MK, Hollywood Studios, and Downtown Disney. I even have those documented on my fb. I will link my Disneywife fb so you can chrck them out. Ak and Epcot just didnt work out. But we will try again later.

At Cali Grill, we had sashimi, pizza, and a cheese platter.

Pizza? You mean flatbread? To me there is a difference. ;) Which one did you have? They both sound good. What did you have for the main course? I'm looking forward to trying the pork and new short rib dish, although my husband would probably go for the scallops or beef filet. How was the new look?

I know you went to those places but on your Twitter on September 27, you posted 4 Square Check ins from Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon. But on your Vlog, you say you stayed in the room that day because of "female" issues. :scratchin I just find that odd how you could be in more than one place at once. You got a clone or something? lol

Oh, well it's not my business anyway. :goodvibes

Ken only had the sashimi because he wanted to snack at the park later. Typically, we eat apps at the signatures, although sometimes we do have more. I had pizza. I had the kids pizza. It's the perfect size for me and with my food issues (textures bother me and I did give Ken the tomato slices) it's what I can eat. I usually eat kids meals since they are smaller and I don't eat salads or pasta unless I make it so I know what's in it.

Wow. That's a bummer. I don't think I'd waste my time (or the servers) to tell you the truth. I'd just find any old place to have that stuff. They have a sushi bar at the Polynesian. Sure hope you tipped the server good since they rely on tips from a $100+ bill. I would be so embarrassed myself. But each to their own I guess. Not sure what your texture issues are but there sure seems like things on the menu would be ok. :confused3

My parents are coming for a visit and we were thinking of taking them so I was hoping to get some recent reviews since the change. But I sure won't be taking them for kids pizza. My dad would think I went over the deep end on that one. :rotfl:

How was the Halloween party? That's something we still haven't done yet. Looks like fun. I especially want to see the parade.

Here's the story of the check ins that day:

Our last tickets didn't work. They couldn't be changed to plastic like the others and I didn't have the money to buy new tickets. Hubby was content to take a nap in the room. I rode the bus around and just checked in wherever it was so it would look like I was having fun that one day so my family who follow me online wouldn't worry about us. My mom worried the whole time about me getting sick and I didn't want to make it worse. Yes, she knows about my pain with my "time." We live in the same house. However, I didn't want her to know I felt that bad or things didn't turn out so well. She would have worried too much.

After that, I went back to the room and stayed in bed all afternoon. I didn't want to admit the trip was terrible, I had really bad cramps, and just wanted to go home.

As for the rest of the trip:

We went to Sea World on 9/23. It was a great day and we rode Journey to Atlantis and saw the Shamu show. I even have pictures on my Disneywife page which I will link to my vlogs if you're interested.

We went to MNSSHP after Cali Grill on 9/24 and made out like bandits with candy.

On 9/25 we went to Ohana and had a great breakfast with the characters.

On 9/26 was Crystal Palace with Magic Kingdom and Disney Studios. We went back to MK that night to see the MSEP parade. That was where I had the anxiety attacks.

When we left, we went on to Memphis and stayed at an Extended Stay hotel which was not nearly as nice as the one in Birmingham.

That is all. I have no more explanation.
