Another just off the Wonder thread!

did anyone do the character tea and if so, was it with the princesses or alice in wonderland/mad hatter? i want to make a dress for my niece so trying to determine the theme!

It's typically Tea with Alice (but can be with the Princesses, Disney Friends, or even Wendy). It depends on the character/actors available on any given cruise.

We got off the Wonder yesterday & for us the tea was with Tiana & Ariel. That's not to say that it will stay that way for all of the Galveston sailings though.....

We were probably in the first 20 families on board and were offered 2 times for the tea: Sunday at 4 pm or Friday at 4 pm. Sunday was formal night and we had early dining, so I felt that conflicted a bit and chose Friday. As PP said, it was Tiana and Ariel.

-Rebooking on board: it was these boards that led me to believe this is something we HAD to do since we are planning on more DCLs (aiming for gold) within the next year. I priced out the cruises we are planning on before leaving, the price quoted on board with that 10% off was WAY more then what I saw online for the same category of room and same group of people, no changes at all! Priced them again this morning and still they were cheaper on the DCL website then the quoted prices I got on board, so for this reason we did not rebook onboard and just plan to book direct through DCL.

Overall: great vacation that went by WAY too fast! I cannot wait to get back on a DCL ship soon!!!

You know you can move the date and keep the 10% right? I rebook onboard for just a cheap 3 night cruise and then move it to what I actually want when I get home or when new dates come out.

Yes we knew that, but since we already know exactly what dates we want going that route was not worth it for us.

how do you sign up for the tea?

go to Guest Services AS SOON AS YOU BOARD, I went about an hour later and both teas were full, compared to last year on the Magic I went on day 2 and was able to get tickets for 4 people still.

How cool that the Dream stopped by CC. Did anyone get a picture of the two ships together? I would love to see one.

:goodvibes

I do! I took TONS since I had never seen a Dream Class ship in person, let's see if I can get this to upload. The Wonder is on the left and the Dream on the right. Checked it and it worked just click on the link for the picture!

re the price that you were quoted, I just checked mine (booked on the Panama Canal cruise right before yours) and it's spot on, 10% discount and all, gratuities were not included. However, I wonder if they included DCL bus transportation and Travel Insurance in your quote.

Did the tropical storm come through CC before your ship arrived? Sea lice are jellyfish larvae and can be found anytime of year, but mostly April through Aug. Strong storm currents can sometimes stir them up more than usual. Sorry you had this issue. I would assume the late storm season has maybe delayed their popular months as well? Thank you so much for the report. And glad you guys were able to avoid the main part of the storm. Such a shame DCL is pulling out of Galveston. It was a much closer trip than PC or other ports, but I guess not for enough travelers or they'd still be sailing out of there in 2014.

Aaah. That makes sense. I think I'd have still booked something "cheap" though and came home and figured it out and moved it to my original date.

I was thinking the same thing, every time we have booked onboard the prices are exactly as they were on the DCL website (on that day, since prices can change every day) but the CM's have been known to add gratuities, transportation, and DCL travel insurance to the quotes which do make them much higher. We always tell them that we opt out of all the above and they revise the quote. I wonder if that is what happened to your quote...keep us updated :)
