...feel like a bad mom :confused3

I KNOW they would have enjoyed LM AOA so much more but with a 5 night trip and focus on MK i just know that WL will be so much more convinient. I just feel bad cause I usually put my girls first :worried:

You are taking your children to WDW. I'm not sure how that puts you in the "bad mom" column! WL is an awesome resort and it will make it more convenient for everyone - including your girls!

I consulted my DS for you and he says that makes you a great Mom. Of course, he chose the Swan this year b/c it's close to DHS and Epcot, so that tells you something.

You are going to have a great time and your DDs are going to love the WL :goodvibes.

They would have enjoyed LM at first, like in the first hour, and then they would have moved on to other things. They will enjoy taking a boat to MK more than a bus. The WL is great and everyone will be glad to be there. Most children don't get to go to WDW at all.

And you can always buy them some LM toys so that you feel better. :)

You upgrade from a value to a deluxe resort and you think your a bad mom. No not in my book.:) Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort, all of my kids loved it there and want to go back.:thumbsup2

Jut sell it to them... Show them how amazing the big pool is... And how close from MK it is... And there is a boat...

They will see Ariel in the park. :)

Did the same thing two days ago to my daughter. We have already stayed at aoa LM and loved it. But if can stay at a deluxe for around same as a cars suite it's a no brainer. She will forget all about hotel after tWe get there

Oh man...
WL > AOA
Deluxe > Value
Boat > Bus

If your girls pitch a fit, that will be something that they look back on and laugh at. Everybody in their right mind picks the Hampton Inn over the Econo Lodge, right???

This drives me a bit crazy.. You're taking your kids on a great vacation and, I assume, footing the bill. Details are grown up decisions. When we cow tow to our kids every wish we end up with a nation of entitled kids.

I agree.

I grew up poor with a single mom. I grew up in Orange County, CA. I was thrilled if I got to ride a public bus to Disneyland once a year for a day trip. A kid should be excited about Disney wherever you stay!

Sometimes it is all about how you spin things to your kids. Have they ever seen the electric light Pageant? Can't see that at AOA. :) We LOVE the WL!

The WL has been my kids favorite resort (and mine) for years now. They fell in love with the WL when they were very young and the boat to MK is tons of fun! The ease of getting to/from the MK is amazing! Have a great trip!

My girls are 2 and 5 and trust me- are NOT raised with any sense of self entitlement!!!

Ariel is my daughters favorite and while it will be a great stay regardless of where- I KNOW the girls would have enjoyed AOA much more. They are not complaining about it as they surely wont care as long as they get to go to Disney again (they dont know we are going - it will be their christmas gift we will go on dec 31st)- that being said, i feel bad for not making it all about THEM when all I had to do was take a crowded bus and stay at a value compared to my own means. I know my 5 year olf would have screamed in excitement arriving at aoa and then seeing the LM room. Heck she still talks about the nemo on CBR bedspread... there is not much she talks about from the CR stays (the hotel, she of course talks about the park.

Just feeling annoyed with my selfishness. :confused3

You're not being selfish. You're doing what's best for your whole family, which includes YOU. And your children are not spoiled either. They were excited for it, which is totally normal.

The story about the Nemo bedspread is cute...it's funny the stuff they get so excited about!

Just put this behind you, move on, and have a great trip!!!! :goodvibes

See this is the advice I went on. I just didnt expect to feel so bummed out after committing to WL. I know it will be great and the perks will be so amazing and we will go to AOA eventually i am sure.

Hey, don't forget yourself because you are a mom. You deserve great stuff too. I have no kids but my friends do and I see that they work HARD. You deserve WL, ok?

+ you cannot miss what you've never lived. You daugters won't "miss" AofA. ;)

Not to confuse you more, but what about a split stay? Can you do a night or two at AOA at the end somehow?

I wish they had at least one deluxe that was themed over-the-top for kids.
