Just a request... If those flying out in the next few days could report back with any added issues/complications due to the current congressional temper-tantrum I would be most appreciated. I've been hearing variations on what airport staff is classified as "essential". From what I've read it sounds like even if they are there they won't be getting paid. My gut reaction that this is going to cause major slowing at the tsa. Someone please confirm that I'm wrong!

I read an article today that TSA is operating but aircraft safety inspectors are furloughed. I am SO freaked out by that...

We arrive on 10/31 and we are staying until 11/4. The countdown has officially begun for us! This is our 4th trip and my friend and her daughter are joining us and it's their first trip so we are hoping that it is extra magical!

I read an article and it said the opposite, to expect longer delays at TSA security checkpoints bc there would be less security officers but that air traffic controllers were considered exempt from the furloughs.

I read the same about the air traffic controllers...it's the aircraft safety inspector furlough that has me scared Though I don't know much about the ins and outs of plane inspections...maybe airlines have their own, too?

This article put my mind at ease....It seems security, air traffic controllers AND TSA at airports are exempted from the furlough. (We travel on the 10th.)

We have loved Port Orleans Riverside from way back when it was Dixie Landings! It's one of our favorites and we have stayed at many of the resorts. Hope you love it as much as we do!
