The Trip Where Nothing Went Wrong...Well, Almost! A September TR--Final update, 11/20

Yay! I told you rubbing Humphrey's nose would pay off. I did it when we toured the WL lol.

I can't wait until we play the Canucks. I know a lot of people hate Torts but I am not one of them. I respect what he did for our team (the guy took us to the conf finals, how can I hate him?) and he cracked me up with the media. I'm looking forward to a fresh start this season though.

Sounds like a great day in Epcot!

subscribing!!!!!!!! All of these trip reports are making me more excited for our vacation coming up in Feb! Can't wait to read more!

I'm here! Do you feel honored that this is the first time I've logged in since May? Hahaha

Can't wait to read all about your trip!

I'm here! Can't wait to hear about your trip! Congrats on the upgrade at WL, my favorite resort in the world!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Ahhh, Epcot! I miss it so much!! Your pictures are making me want to cry lol!!! :rotfl:

I love the DTD is so great that you just NEED time there too. In case there isn't enough merch and food at the parks and resorts. I LOVE IT THOUGH. And it sounds like it's just going to get better and better! :thumbsup2

I hate the queue for Nemo & Friends! It never seems to end and I've never even stopped in it! Some walk-on's are walk through the line and then stop and wait for a ride veh or two, but this one is like hike for miles and never stop to rest until you are inside a clam. And if it wasn't that, I wouldn't ride it. :rotfl: Love me some Turtle Talk and Bruce though! ;)

So glad you liked Biergarten! The atmosphere is amazing! I adore it. I'm a little too picky for everything there, but the stuff I liked I loved!

Also, hooray for bus luck! :goodvibes

Okay, I got caught up.

We had a super early flight for our July trip also. I love getting there early, but man. Waking up at 3am is rough! I feel your pain.

Nice that your room was ready! I love it when they're ready early.

Nothing like the first park of the trip. The benefit of waking up at the crack of dawn.

Biergarten is one of my absolute favorites. We have never been disappointed there.

Looks like you are off to a good start! How nice that you didn't have to wait for the Magical Express to take off. Last time I used ME we were one of the first ones on our bus and probably waited almost 45 minutes just sitting no the bus before we even left the airport. It was awful!

Love to upgrade to the woods view. That a beautiful view out your window!

Yeah, every time I walk through the queue for Nemo I just can't imagine there ever being that many people. I mean, if it was full could you even imagine what sort of a wait time it would be?? We joke that it takes 10 minutes just to walk through the queue even if it was completely empty!
Augh, I've had to wait for ME to depart, but never THAT long! I can't tell you how much I loved that room/view. It was perfect.
I KNOW about the line for Nemo. I think the same thing when I look at the line for Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey at Universal. The longest I ever waited for that ride was about 45 minutes, but that line goes on and on! I guess that's how they accommodated the 2 hr+ lines that were common when it first opened!

Joining! Can't wait to hear all about it.
Welcome!!

I'm here!!!!! :)

Bummer the plane was late, but at least it made up time in the air!!

Your room looks awesome and cosy!!! Great view!!!!

I rarely take pics at DTD, so I understand!

sounds like your trip is off to an awesome start!!!
And Wahoo for short bus waits!!!! :)

NOW to go over to your dining report :)
Hey hey! Yes-- even though I didn't realize it in the moment, my delay could have been much longer than an hour, which would have been truly awful!

Joining in! I never finished my pre-trip :guilty: but hope to get started on my TR soon. Between me and Hannah I have about 700 pictures to go through, plus over 100 on photo pass. Sounds like your trip started great... I'm sure you'll be commenting about the rain soon!

Cheryl
Whenever you start your TR, I'll be there! Actually, the rain didn't really affect us! We seemed to be conveniently inside whenever it started, except for one time that I'll discuss!

Yay! I told you rubbing Humphrey's nose would pay off. I did it when we toured the WL lol.

Sounds like a great day in Epcot!
Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2 I absolutely loved Torts. For the people who bashed him, did the Rangers do better or worse than previous years under Torts? Yeah, that's what I thought! ;) Also, agreed. I looked forward to his interviews almost as much as the games themselves haha.

I'm following along!!!!
Welcome, thanks for joining in!!

Thanks for subscribing!! Yay, reading TRs before a trip has that same effect for me!

I'm here! Do you feel honored that this is the first time I've logged in since May? Hahaha

Can't wait to read all about your trip!
Wow, I do feel honored! I thought you dropped off the face of the Dis earth hahaha.

Hiii! It's definitely my favorite resort now, too! I feel like I cannot properly articulate how much I loved it. Thankfully, Zach thought it was amazing too and doesn't ever want to stay anywhere else!!

Enjoying your report. Joining in.
Thank you! Welcome!

I am SO excited for the additions to DTD! I really feel like a lot of the restaurants & shops are a total waste of space (Bongos, I'm looking at you.) I LOVE food trucks, too, so that'll be awesome.
Haha, I feel the same about Nemo! I practically need to catch my breath when I finally sit in the clam!
I feel the same about Biergarten-- there are things there I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole (the sausages/sauerkraut/cold meats), but I LOVED what I did try.

Okay, I got caught up.

Yeah, those early starts are rough but totally worth it! I was shocked (and so happy) our room was ready. A benefit of going in the slow season!
Biergarten is definitely a must do from now on for us. I just hope we get blessed with equally awesome tablemates in the future!

Hi everyone! Sorry, I didn’t intend for quite so much time to pass between posts! This has just been one crazy week! Monday, we had trivia night (we won! Woo hoo!), Tuesday I had some errands to run after work, and Wednesday we went out to eat because our favorite local restaurant had a special Oktoberfest menu. I had the sauerbraten, which was good, but not nearly as good as Biergarten’s! And last night I had happy hour with the girls from work. So there hasn’t been that much time for TR writing, unfortunately! However, I do have an update for everyone now!
I woke up easily at 7:00 a.m. I am naturally an early riser/morning person, but even moreso in Disney. Who can sleep late when there’s fun to be had?! After doing my hair/make-up, I ran down to Roaring Forks to fill our mugs. This was a little tradition I did every day and I loved it. It was such a quick walk and I loved seeing the Lodge all sleepy and peaceful so early in the morning.
I woke Zach around 7:40 and he quickly got ready (boys!) I had been advised to be at the bus stop for our traditional first, full-day park, the Magic Kingdom, no later than 8:00 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. opening. This seemed a touch early for me, given the proximity of the MK, but I decided to heed that advice.
We arrived at the bus stop at 8:01. By 8:04 we were on the bus, and by 8:14, we were cleared through the bag check and standing in the plaza in front of the train station. Oh well!
We actually hung back a bit, as I wanted to see the opening show and there were so few people there, that if we filled in all the way, we would have been unable to. It wasn’t a problem to fill the time chatting about everything we wanted to accomplish that day & taking some pictures.

Soon enough, it was time for “Good morning! Good morning! It’s great to stay up late…” Instant. Tears. I was so incredibly happy to be back in my happy place with my favorite person. Not to get too sentimental, but those other three trips I took to Disney in between my last one with Zach can’t even compare. I don’t feel like I’m really having a Disney trip unless he’s by my side!

I love this sign so much…

As soon we were able, we strolled under the bridge and through to Main Street, saying good morning to the happy cast members waving with their Mickey hands. Had to get that obligatory (crappy) castle shot:

Tomorrowland was our first stop of the day. I had known Space Mountain was down for refurb, but apparently a lot of people didn’t! That didn’t matter, as Buzz was our intended first stop!
I’m not quite sure how this happened, but somehow I got 310,000! I am terrible at these games, so that was shocking! Zach only got 77,000, and as he always beats me, I definitely gloated quite a bit ;)
Obligatory Zurg shot:

We stopped for a quick PhotoPass picture by the rose garden (one of my favorite spots) before heading into Fantasyland. As Winnie the Pooh was listed at a five minute wait, we decided to hop on. It was Zach’s first time riding and he thought it was pretty cute.
Ariel’s Undersea Adventure was next; I loved this during my June trip and thought Zach would too. The line in particular was so neat.

However, we didn’t exactly get to enjoy walking through it. A man and his wife were in front of us, and the woman was having quite a bit of trouble maneuvering her scooter around the tight turns in the line. Her husband addressed this by making jokes about her to Zach. It was just an all around uncomfortable situation! Once we got on the ride (another walk on), however, we had a great time. Zach did love it, as predicted!
Zach was interested in seeing more of new Fantasyland, so we wandered into the Belle-themed gift shop. Ahh, there were so many things I wanted! From the gorgeous dining sets to the artwork, I could have snapped it all up! I eventually settled on a t-shirt, which we had sent back to our room. (This is one of my favorite things about staying on property!) I wore the shirt on our last full day, so you can see pictures of it then!
We decided to try LeFou’s Brew after picking out the t-shirt...and prompted threw it away. I hate wasting food/drinks, but ick! This was cloyingly sweet. Too much for either of us! Thank goodness we used a snack credit and didn’t waste any “real” money.

Zach enjoying his chair:

The progress on the Seven Dwarves Mine Coaster is really coming along! I can’t wait for it to be finished! There’s going to be so many E-ticket rides in the MK then, it’ll be hard to decide what to hit first!

By now, it was nearly 10 a.m. and the line for Peter Pan’s Flight was only 15 minutes!

Everyone knows how long this line gets, so we hopped on. I do love it, but I don’t understand why it backs up so much?! I certainly wouldn’t wait more than 15 minutes (which is definitely how long we waited).
The Haunted Mansion, however, was a walk-on. It’s one of Zach’s MK favorites!

We walked over to Frontierland next-- the line for Splash was already 45 minutes, but BTMRR was only 15, so we got in line for that. Here we are waiting:

I have to say, this is when I realized just how disgustingly hot it was going to be that day. It maybe 10:45 and already scorching! Pretty much the entire trip was like that, except during the daily half hour intense rain storm.
We grabbed a FP for BTMRR after we rode, and headed to Pirates, another of Zach’s favorites.
By now it was 11:30 and I was more than ready for an early lunch at Pecos Bill. It was our first time eating there and it was great! I wish they had that toppings bar in all CS restaurants!
Our FP for BTMRR was open right after lunch, so we hit that and then backtracked into Fantasyland to see Mickey’s Philharmagic, which is far and away my favorite 3D experience at any park. It features the best music.
Tomorrowland was our next stop, for a leisurely spin on TTA.

When we disembarked, I said I wanted to photograph the castle from the spot where we watched Wishes at the dessert party in 2011. (We had a front-row table-- the view was absolutely amazing!) And here’s the event that interrupted the trip “where nothing went wrong.”
When I went to pull my camera out of its case, however, my stomach dropped. My old memory card, which I had stuck in there after buying the new one at Epcot the previous night was gone! I had SO many photos on that card (it was huge)-- vacations, holidays, videos/pictures of my beloved dog who passed away in 2010. I was just sick over this. Slowly, I realized that I was about 90% sure that I had backed up all of the photos prior to to the trip on my computer, and most were on Photobucket as well. I took a deep breath and made the decision that this would NOT ruin our trip. Did I succeed? You’ll have to see!

The view from your room is lovely!

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry about your memory card! I really hope you were able to get your pictures back.

Can't wait to read more!

Joining in!

Hope there is a happy ending to the memory card situation!

Isn't it awesome the rare days where the MK isn't packed, within 4 hours you can easily ride all of the major rides. It's especially sweet at night....Jungle Cruise, BTMRR. Oh...and New Fantasyland is just jaw-dropping at night, as well!

You got a lot done at MK this morning, wow. You make me feel a bit better about missng out on LeFou's Brew this trip, so thanks! Too bad it was a waste though :(

I love Philharmagic too! :goodvibes

Can't believe how much you got done this morning! How awesome!

That's disappointing about LeFrou's Brew. How does it compare to Butterbeer? I'm assuming that's not too sweet then, since you like that! I finally convinced myself to try LeFrou's Brew (I have been skeptical) and now I'm scared again! But at least I have a 4 year old who will probably love it, despite how sweet it is! :rotfl:

Yay I'm here for the TR! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Super good call on upgrading to more space/speed on Jetblue. I totally agree with you about the food option in the Jetblue area! We were there around 5:30 AM also and it was just super chaotic!

Boo for the plane taking off late but yay for the ME! The Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous! Yay for an upgrade and the room looks great too! :goodvibes

I completely agree with you about the line for The Seas with Nemo. If I ever saw that whole line full, I'd be terrified!

Glad you enjoyed Biergarten!

I find it so hard to time things with the Disney buses! Every time we had to go somewhere, I left extra time, in case we just missed a bus or something crazy happened but we always ended up getting there ridiculously early! Better early than late I suppose!

Oh my goodness the artwork in the gift shop in New Fantasyland is too much. I wanted all of it!

Yay for so many rides with no wait times! I agree with you about Peter Pan. It's adorable but I definitely wouldn't wait very long for it.

Yeah I had heard September was hot but goodness, nothing can prepare you for that heat! :scared1:

An empty MK IS the best-- there are just so many rides that get such long lines so early!
Ah, I completely agree about new FL at night! When the mine train is open, it'll be even more gorgeous!

Definitely don't feel bad about missing out on LeFou's Brew! Yuck!

Butterbeer tastes more like cream soda, I think. It's definitely nowhere as sweet as LeFou's Brew. It seems people love or hate it, so why not give it a try?? Especially if Landon is willing to finish it for you, lol!

Hey! Welcome home!
I just don't get how terrible the food organization is, especially at a new terminal!
I was the same way-- we usually had an awkward amount of time before dinner because I left so much time to get from place to place!

Subscribing!

And all caught up on your report so far - it looks like a really fun trip, the few times I've visited WL I've always thought it has some of the best resort theming at WDW - it's hard to believe how close it is to the Magic Kingdom when you're there!

Looked like a fun evening at Epcot, and a great morning at Magic Kingdom so far!

 for the memory card... keeping my fingers crossed that it reappears later on in the trip....

Emma princess: x

I liked the LeFou's Brew. Sorry you didn't enjoy it!

I love Pecos Bill's! I always get the taco salad and load it up with toppings. Delicious!

Sorry about your memory card. :\ I try to keep mine but I don't keep very good track of them so they're all buried in the bottom of my nightstand drawer. Everything is on the computer but if that ever crashes....luckily most of my pictures from the last few years are on facebook.

Sounds like a great day at MK!

Sounds like a wonderful time in MK!! :)
I can't wait for the new mine ride to open!!!
Seems like you had nice and fairly quick wait times too!! :)
