Hi thinking about purchasing a DVC but want to come down for a presentation to gather lots of info first. Our question is, do all the resort properties have the DVC presentations and are they usually always there?

Thanks!

The "presentation" is at the SSR sales offices.

You will be given just enough info to convenience to buy. IMO you will be better off to spend a few days reading the posts here prior to meeting with the Disney sales person.

no, just at the SSR sales office, and then only for resorts in "active sales."

DVC will sell you a contract at "sold out" resorts like BCV or VWL (assuming they have inventory available - if not, you'd go on a waiting list), but the guides/salespeople are probably compensated more highly for selling AKV, aulani and VGF so you'd have to push to get a so-called "sold out" resort.

there is also a BWV model available for viewing on the boardwalk, but you can't get a presentation there.

i'd also agree that info from a presentation (from salespeople who get paid if you buy and get nothing if you don't) is more likely to be skewed (and sometimes flatly not accurate) than the info you'd get on the DIS.

DVD/DVC now has sales offices at BWV, BLT, SSR, AKV Kidani, Aulani, and at DL.

Fellow Jerseyite....

The sales office is at SSR. If you have a list of a few, you can resort hop...see the grounds, get a feel for the resort, etc. If you go during house keeping hours, a CM may let you peak in actual rooms at the resort.

Also remember, guides are rewarded financially if you buy. We here are not. (Unless of course you put someone down as a referring member, then they may care if you buy or not)

We did the sales thing at the BW office in Aug. and they were basically pushing AKL and GF. We were interested in the BC or BW so we would have been wait listed. We didn't need a tour since we have been staying at the villas at the BW or BC since they opened. We actually came home and I did some research through these forums and we actually found 2 contracts through resale that we are currently going through the process of purchasing. As others have said, these boards are more helpful than anything. We know that by doing resale we won't have the cruise option or the Disney collection option but those are not things that we would use our points for anyway. For us the difference in the price per point outweighed those few perks in our making our final decision. We also figures out what we would need for points and found the contracts that would work for us. We will have 410 points plus some carryover points when we are done closing - which amounts to a large savings since we are paying $45 less per point than what Disney wanted at this point and we would have had to be waitlisted.

I find the presentations a big buy it, it's a great deal. They tell you about points. I got more information from here. We are currently buying a resale, much better deal.

I am definitely getting a lot of info from here and its been so very helpful. I am just curious about being wait-listed if a certain"home resort"is not available. How long is the wait? I cant seem to find that info, does anyone know?

Do some research on resales. I know that BC has a long waitlist from Disney direct but you can get one on resale. They are slightly higher due to demand. Do some research and look around. I don't see a benefit from buying direct.
