No Carsland at DHS?

I think a lot of us have been expecting that.

I'd love to see Carsland in Florida, but Star Wars is perfectly fine with me. With that being said, my family will not make a special visit to DLR just for Carsland.

I will tell you Cars Land is totally worth the trip! It is amazing. Seriously, DH and I were in tears it was so awesome. The rides are so-so, but the experience of it alone was worth it.

Luckily we are in the middle of the country so it's easier for us to do either WDW or DL, or in the case of this year both haha.

I am one who prefers there to be unique attractions on either coast, and I'm happy if they aren't moving forward with CarsLand. Mind you, DHS could handle 2 major expansions. They might get an attendance bounce from each if they stagger them out. You have at least a couple of years to promote the newness of things like New Fantasyland.

I would love to see StarWars Land sooner and PixarLand later. Bring in RSR if you want, or retheme it to the World Grand Prix from C2, but create a land and rides for the whole wealth of Pixar characters.

Also glad - while they did a great job with the themeing its not so wonderful or classic that it deserves repeating so close to home. Maybe in Tokyo, or Shanghai, but I think a lot more interesting things can be done with Star Wars and see it as them choosing what to do WELL rather than them trying to half *** all.

It makes some sense that Disney needs an iconic series, StarWars, to counter the Harry Potter series.

I agree that they should do a Pixar themed area with all the Pixar characters. There is a lot of material and lots of cool rides that could be done with it.

Like maybe a Monster Inc ride where you somehow go through the doors with new technology.

If this is interesting...it has already had some play in the "beauty and the beast show going away?" thread as well this week.

to summarize my own comments: carsland in florida made no sense...at any point in time...so where's the surprise?

Carsland is amazing and so is the Disneyland resort, highly recommend a visit for anyone who has not been.

That being said, I like that they are going the other direction, something on that grand a scale and with the same type of uniqueness, but for Florida would be best and Star Wars would be a perfect fit.

The only reason I could see CarsLand still being in consideration is that it could be built quickly and a little more cheaply because all the design work has already been done.

Yes, we just got back from DL over a week ago and was very impressed with Cars Land. We were just hanging out at Flo's for a couple hours for good times. Rode RSR 3 times!

We are in the middle to, here in Texas! We are doing both DL and WDW this year also!!! :cool1:

AND ... I hope they keep it at DL only, which they probably will. Too unique to duplicate at WDW. I think it would lose some appeal.

Even back when our kids were younger, I can't fathom that being enough for us to have opted for DLR over WDW. Having been to DLR twice myself many years ago, DCA + CarsLand just isn't going to trump them. Would like to have seen CarsLand at DHS - but, for that matter, would like to see a blinking neon raisin at DHS if it represented some sort of upgrade to the place...

My thinking as well, we won't be loading the family up and flying all the way across the country just for Carsland.

I don't get why everyone believes DLR and WDW should compete with each for guests.

Well we do need something to happen at DHS, and it needs to be Star Wars and Pixar Place expansion IMO.

Cars Land did it for us to go back out to DLR. If it wasn't for that though, we probably would have just took the family and nephew down to WDW. But like I said, Cars Land is impressive. If I were on the east coast, then I could understand maybe not going cross country but I am not in the position so I don't know if would or wouldn't have went out there or not.

I don't understand why people think DLR and WDW should be carbon copies of one another. Disneyland is easily reachable. The fact that you CHOOSE not to fly across the country for Cars Land (and Matterhorn, and Toontown, and Nemo subs, and Mr. Toad, and Space Mountain, etc.) is your...well...choice.

Cars Land was never a good logistical fit for WDW. The RSR / Test Track ride system does not play well with the rainy FL weather. Luigi's Flying Tires is OK as a one-off attraction, but it was never going to get replicated even if they did build a second Cars Land. The best WDW could have hoped for was some watered-down version of the land. I'm sure the "suits" had dollar signs in their eyes from all of the merchandising potential, but better to move on to an entirely new concept, IMO.

Amen.
