Have you had a celebrity encounter on DCL?

I have no idea why this came to mind....have you bumped into a celebrity while cruising. I used to see "famous" people all the time when I lived in Cali.

When I was on the maiden voyage for the Fantasy they where all sorts of Disney executive celebrities that where on the ship and I spoke with several of them. My two favorite encounters on this cruise was running into Larry the Cable Guy who joked with me briefly when I passed him in the hallway and second when I went scuba diving in Cozumel and John Lasseter and one of his sons was on the small boat with us. He was very nice, spoke with everyone who approached him and took pictures with anyone who asked. I later ran into John on the first Disney Pixar Cruise on the Disney Wonder and he remembered me.

Mickey, Minnie ;) :thumbsup2

We were on one of the first Fantasy cruises and Samantha Brown was filming up on deck on embarkation day. I don't think that she sailed with us - because we never saw her again.

I know that there is an old thread here that has a lot of celebrities in the list.

I never had one personally but I heard some famous baseball player was on my last cruise. I can't remember his name.

Sailed with Neil Patrick Harris on The Fantasy in February. He was with his partner, kids and parents. We ran into him lots of times--he was in our muster station and had the suite on deck 11 right above us so we saw him coming and going all the time on the stairs, etc. Nice guy and cute kids...

In June 2012, we played bingo with John Stamos. However, I totally missed seeing my 13-year old self's boyfriend. I was so disappointed. I kept hearing people whispering that someone was there, but I not pay attention until someone near me saw him leave.

Hmmm, could I play Bingo with Ian Somerholder? :D

I ran into Bob Iger at the Fantasy's christening... and it was rather embarrassing!

We were in the atrium having drinks and mixing/mingling... my dh was everywhere w/the camera like a crazy man and I was standing off to the side. Everyone was issued lanyards telling who they are and they were color coded for "status" and assigned dining room... except this one guy standing by himself w/no lanyard... so I struck up a casual conversation, starting with, "So, how did you get away with having no lanyard?" and he replied something about "being lucky I guess" and we chatted about the ship, the event, etc and it was not 'til later that he was introduced in the theatre that I realized who I chatted up and teased for not having a lanyard!!!

We were on the same cruise and saw him several times.

On the Dream in 2011, we sailed with Buddy and his family from Cake Boss. Buddy and his wife were doing a vow renewal on board. He also made a cake that looked liked the Dream with a functioning AquaDuck! The cake was presented to (and eaten by) the Captain and crew.

In 2012 we sailed with Murr from the Tru TV show "Impractical Jokers". He was kind enough to take a couple of pics with us in AP. :)

In August of 2012 we ran into Mike Lowell, former MLB player. He was a great guy and even took a few pictures with us.

On the MV of the Fantasy, I met John Lasseter, Bob Iger, Tom Staggs, Ducky Williams, Joe Lanzisero and Larry the Cable Guy. I only saw Iger and Staggs once. I shared and elevator with Ducky Williams and a hot tub with Larry the Cable Guy (and about a dozen other people). I saw John Lasseter all over the ship all week. The coolest encounter was in O'Gills. I was sitting at a table next to Lasseter and Lanzisero while they were having a conversation about the creative process Lanzisero used in planning some of the spaces on the Fantasy. That was an absolutely amazing cruise.

On the DVC Member Cruise this past January, I met Roy P. Disney. We had attended a presentation earlier in the day on his father and grandfather. Very humble guy.
