Complicated Fast Pass Question

Our children are interested in getting fast passes for the Epcot Character Spot. My husband and I would like to save our fast passes for another attraction, if possible. Would we be able to enter with our children without using fast passes or must we use our fast passes for this as well? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Not a complicated question at all. All guests wishing to enter any FP/FP+ queue must have one. The only exceptions are the under-3yo set.

everyone in line must have a valid FP so you'd have to use your FP for that. At least that's how it has always worked .....

Assuming you're referring to FastPass+ as Epcot Character Spot doesn't offer standard FP, you would all have to reserve FP+s for the attraction. Only those who book a FP+ will be allowed to enter that line regardless of if you intend to experience the attraction or not. I will say that, after the refurbishment, wait times haven't been long for it, so I'd advise you to use those FP+s for another attraction anyways.

To add: in my opinion, FPs for ECS are not the best choice. Lines are not typically very long for this attraction anymore. See the link in my signature for my suggested priorities.

I was able to make my selections for fast pass tonight! We're going Oct 12-19 and staying at Kidani Village. Does this mean we will have the magic band also? I do not have the option to customize bands in my disney experience.

When we were there a few weeks ago, the wait time for character spot was less than 5 minutes. I wouldn't bother with a FP for it.

The character FP+ will likely be more popular when FP+ actually goes into effect.

If you already made your online check in, go in and make a minor change (like departure time). The customize magic band option should pop up.

Thanks everyone! We have decided to use the FP+ on another attraction. It's good to know that the lines are shorter now. Last time we were there we had a pretty good wait.

We'll make better use of it elsewhere!
