Hi there - Does anyone know if you can check out books at the Community Hall? Years ago I know they offered it but not sure if they still do. Thanks!!

yes....although they haven't required us to "check out" like with DVDs.
it works well, as i don't always finish a book, and can bring it back next time.

btw, they also take donated books. i often bring a few extra with us, and leave them for others to enjoy :)

That is great to know - thank you! And I never thought about donating books - what a good idea.

In all the years I've been at the BW, I never knew you could get books!! :rotfl2: I guess I should take my "blinders" off the next time I go to Community Hall!

Hey it's almost time.....F&W!!!!

yes, it's great.....grab a book, lay by the pool, fall asleep after a few pages, repeat daily ;)

okw has always had books - but unless they changed the rules - you could not even take them out of the library/lobby area.

so it was not too popular. BWV seems a much better plan.

The "book exchange" at the BWV Community hall seems to have gotten smaller. It is more of a "take one; leave one", i.e. exchange your no longer needed book/paperback for one on the shelf. I'll usually buy a few used paperbacks at my local library (5 for $1) and do the "leave/take" thing. I think the selection has gotten smaller because of more people using Kindles, etc. I do love my kindle fire, but still prefer the feel of a book when poolside. Oh, there are no "check out" rules either. You can go in and take a book....but should return it upon leaving. We used to do htis type of book exchange in my office. Worked out really well.

just read that the community hall at BWV now has flower arranging - that is great news - love it at SSR - so BWV will be wonderfully.

ooooooh, i would love to try that!

i've a nook also, but there's nothing like the feel of a "real" book (or the smell of a real library:))
