For anyone wondering, the in-room coffee maker is a Cuisinart and they have Joffrey's Coffee.

Does the Poly have the new mug program with the RFID?
Thanks!

Yes, they have the new mugs. They look exactly the same as in the past, they just say Rapid Refill towards the top. The machines were set up for it but had not been turned on yet.

Anyone know if the fridges have been replaced? We will be staying at the Poly in 3 weeks.

Just got back today. We were staying in Fiji and had a working fridge.

Just wanted to let any of you know that are AP holders that there is a new code out for 35 percent off. I was able to save over 200.00 dollars on my December trip. Trying o add the 24th but it is booked. Woooo hoooooo!!!! Just called and was able to add the 24th with no problems!!!! I am psyched!!!

Returned from our annual Poly vacation 2 weeks ago. Had a great time as always but really bummed out with the amount of green lake grass ( or whatever the heck it is) that seems to be taking over the beaches at the poly. The beach in front of Tahiti is completely overrun with this crap. It runs all the way around Sunset Point and is starting to encroach onto the main beach in front of Hawaii. It's also over on the beach in front of Aotearoa. Is no one else bothered by this stuff? I'm surprised no one here on the boards mentions it (unless I'm not paying close enough attention). It's bad enough the lagoon water now looks like green murky swamp water, now our beloved Poly beaches are turning into typical Florida swamps! :confused3

Guess everyone likes the new swamp motif at the Poly. Cool. :confused3

"Club Level guests many also are able to experience the Wildlife Discovery Excursion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom which is available at 10am & 1pm daily for $50 a person. "

I didn't read through 200+ pages in this thread but we tried to make this reservation for Dec and we were told this is now only an option for CL guests of the AKL. If that's old news apologies in advance.

I'm thinking they haven't bothered doing anything about it because of the planned construction. :confused3

I was thinking that as well but that would not account for the growth over by the beach in front of Aotearoa. I noticed it several years ago and its now all over the place. Really detracts from the look of the Poly beach IMHO. Hoping they clean it up during the construction as well.

We live on the shore of Lake Huron. The last couple of years a very invasive (and tall!) species of grass has been invading the beach. In some areas it's completely taken over. Our local municipal council had to hire consultants and research the best methods to eradicate this grass. When they found a solution they had to apply to the ministry of natural resources for permission. I would assume Disney would have to undertake a similar process since it is part of a wetland. Since they have been considering and are now beginning construction maybe they decided to wait and take care of it all at the same time (even the stuff that is not on the beach affected by construction). At least here I know it's not as simple as just going out and hacking the grass down.

Bumping us back up from half way down the second page because I am super excited. We just finalized plans for a surprise Christmas trip to WDW for our girls! :santa: For several years we have saved and had our family vacation in the fall at WDW. This year my DH wanted to do something different, so we cancelled our fall trip and booked a cruise for March. We were going to add a few days at WDW on at the beginning of that trip. However, now that it's fall we're all missing WDW and the Poly (especially with all of the changes coming) so we've booked a short trip with the room only discount for the first week of December (and will cancel the WDW portion of our cruise trip). While it won't exactly be at Christmas, who cares? It's Disney and what a great way to get into the spirit of the season! Did I mention I'm excited?! :cool1:

Enjoy your trip! I would take the first week of December over Christmas week a million times over. You can have all the holiday spirit without the massive crush of humanity in the parks!
