Trick-Or-Treat & Birthday Sweets! Oct 2013 PTR *NEW* 11/4 TR Link Posted!

Sounds like a good day to me! Hopefully DH will agree to adding the extra day at DHS ;)

I think I can convince him, especially since it's for DHS and that is his favorite park! :cutie: I fall into this pre-Disney depression almost every trip thinking we just don't have enough time!!! This year, the biggest problems we are face are 1) no AP's to give us an excuse to go to a park even if only for an hour or two 2) a day in US/IoA taking away from Disney time and 3) taking the morning off on our MNSSHP day. Hopefully we will feel like we experienced a lot and had fun though, whether we add the extra day or not.

Wow - I just read about the Italy trip. Sounds lovely! Congrats!

Your day 4 plans look great. I really need to figure out what my actual plans are every day. I have my ADRs but I haven't really firmed up my daily plans.

That church in Celebration looks lovely. I toured the Basilica when I was there in June. We were shopping at the nearby outlets and decided to stop by. I really enjoyed the museum there. I was impressed at the art work.

Thanks! Italy has been a lifelong dream of mine that really got bigger when I took a fine arts class in high school and dreamed of seeing all those buildings and sculptures and paintings we were learning about. I can't wait!

I'm hoping things don't change up for me too much, but I'm starting to regret not having more DHS or AK time...

I love the Basilica, and that's where we almost always have gone to church there. But the time on Saturday is late enough and the traffic so horrible coming out of there that it's useless to try to get to a park after, and I really don't want to lose out on a whole afternoon. If you are ever there during the holiday season, they have an amazing Nativity scene in the front of the church. It takes up a whole room! So beautiful.

Sounds like it'll be a great day! :) hope you can convince DH to add an extra park day. I didn't know DJrL was changed. What's different? Hope y'all like the new church!

Oh and I'm hoping to see Ralph too on this trip since we skipped him last December. We hadn't seen the movie yet

I don't know why he is resisting, it will only be like $20 total for almost a whole extra park day! :rolleyes1

For the Disney Jr show they replaced the Little Einsteins and Handy Manny segments with Doc McStuffins & Sofia the First! I'm happy it will be almost like a whole new show for us and that it added 2 shows Paxton enjoys. However, now he is on a Little Einsteins kick, so maybe he would have liked the old version better now? :confused3 Last week he watched the same episode on the Disney Jr app on the iPad 4 times in a row!!

I really hope Ralph is still there! We would have gone to meet him even without seeing the movie but his meet & greet didn't open until our last day in the parks and we spent that in MK. All 3 of us love the movie, so I am keeping my fingers crossed we get to meet them!

Although we are doing a 3-parks-in-one-day-and-stay-through-10pm-IllumiNations the night before, we are sure to be up and moving really early the next day! Why? TOY STORY MANIA! Yep, we are headed back to DHS this morning, planning to be there well before opening to take advantage of the early opening procedure.
There's no time for sleeping in at Disney World! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: I think DHS and Toy Story Mania are just the right incentive to get up and go in the morning.

I also REALLY hope Wreck It Ralph & Vanellope have not been replaced yet by the time we go because we missed them by just a day last year.
Coincidentally, I just finally recently watched that movie. I thought it was great! Although, I'm sure they'll be gone by the time I get back down there.

Which is why I'm slowly twisting DH's arm to add a day to our tickets once we get there and spend our departure day at DHS because I think we will need more time. But that's a different discussion for a different day. ;)
I fully endorse this plan. :thumbsup2

We won't be watching the parade or Wishes this night either, so hopefully we can ride a few other attractions while everyone else is lined up on the parade route.
Great idea! I'm sure it will be a bit crowded, but that's a great way to get some attractions done and take advantage of a few hours in the park.

Just be warned that if you're walking into the Carousel of Progress about 5 minutes before Wishes starts, the CM might question your sanity. :rotfl2::lmao:

Lol really. Not like its going to cost an arm and leg

Oooo ok. I actually just saw a commercial for it. Alex didn't like the show last trip. He got bored and didn't want to sit on the floor. He doesn't care for Sofia but he likes doc. We'll try again on this trip and see if he likes it any better. Longer attention span at this point

Yeah we all love the movie too. It's a great one for sure! I wish we had met them in December but dh didn't want to. This trip I don't care if he wants to meet characters or not. I'm gonna get in line with Alex regardless. Dh made us miss Russell and Dug last year too. I'm still sore about that one :-/

I hope they don't get rid of Wreck It-Ralph before the end of the year, too. I'm hoping with as many people that want to do a character meet and greet, Disney'll keep 'em around a bit longer.
DHS does have some good meet and greets, in general, though. It wasn't until I read your update that I realized how much time needs to be devoted to both that and coasters. Hmmm....
I hope you get another opportunity to spend time at DHS later on in the trip!

So true, that's why I will kind of miss it when DS is past napping age because I like to catch a little cat nap too some days! But we gotta still get our butts in gear so we can catch TSM!

Coincidentally, I just finally recently watched that movie. I thought it was great! Although, I'm sure they'll be gone by the time I get back down there.

It really was a great movie, DH and I saw it in theaters & loved it! I just hope they don't transition over to Frozen characters before we get there since that is their next big movie release. Then again, maybe they will push The Incredibles out of their spot (seriously, that movie was eons ago!) instead so you can still meet them when you go back!

I fully endorse this plan. :thumbsup2

::yes::::yes::

:rotfl: It will be sooooooooo hard to know Wishes is going on and I'm riding Small World for the 10th time, but it will be great if my plan actually works and gets us in some more attraction time in MK.

Paxton really seemed to love the show last year even without knowing Little Einsteins & Handy Manny. He didn't mind sitting on the floor, but then I think he spent the entire time in someone's lap anyway. :rotfl: The adults were not crazy about sitting on the floor, but we endure for our little guy. Hopefully Alex enjoys it more this time around!

Yes, absolutely drag him into lines! I'm lucky DH is on board with character meets, although he thinks I am being waaaaay too ambitious with all of the meets I want to do this year. :lmao:

I hope they don't get rid of Wreck It-Ralph before the end of the year, too. I'm hoping with as many people that want to do a character meet and greet, Disney'll keep 'em around a bit longer.

It seems like it has been a successful meet & greet for them, so hopefully Ralph and Vanallope will be around quite awhile longer. I know!!! DHS is making me crazy because there are sooooo many character meets I want to do, and I'm starting to feel like we won't have time to ride anything between running to character spots!! So hopefully I can lean on DH enough to get him on board with my plan. He keep saying he wants to wait until we get there and see (well, of course, we can't upgrade the tickets from home anyway ) but DHS is his favorite park so I think if we don't feel like we accomplished enough there he will be much less resistant to adding the day.

Okay, I'm officially on board! I have that same Tinkerbell costume from a few years ago! We were thinking about a MNSSHP trip this year, but I couldn't take the time off from school. It sounds like it's going to be amazing, and I think you're right on to focus on the party-exclusive stuff rather than rides!

Excellent ADR choices. I love Via Napoli!

I actually just bought the Dooney bag you were thinking about! I love it, but Vera was definitely a good choice if you want more space.

Sounds like a good day. We still havent seen Wreck it Ralph...need to do that someday. We are trying to get in Little Mermaid, Cars, Lion King and Nemo before our trip in 8 days because we have one night at AOA before switching offsite. Zavier has seen Nemo and Cars so only two more to go!

I love Sci Fi..yum!!! Excited to hear about the rest of your trip :)

I'm really excited for our first party, and the map was released today, so that got me looking forward to it even more! Now I'm just ready to find out what characters they are going to have where...

Via Napoli is probably my favorite TS meal in all of WDW! Not that we eat at very many, but still, my favorite. :goodvibes

I would still love to get the Disney Dooney someday, because it's so adorable. But I agree, I think the Vera is going to give more space for in the parks. Right now I'm not thinking I will need to take much with me, but when it comes time to leave I know I will think of a lot more things! :rotfl:

That's a good idea to get him watching the movies! I'm sure he will love Cars and Nemo. Those are two top choices around our house! Right now he is on a Peter Pan kick, which I guess is a good thing considering I decided back in May that he would be Peter Pan for Halloween. :rotfl:

Sunday October 27th

How fitting that I am ready to post our Day 6 plans just as this year's MNSSHP map has been released! The first party is tomorrow night, so hopefully I can gather up even more info on the party once people start posting their experiences.

So this morning of our trip will be pretty laid back. We will get up when we get up and have some breakfast in the room. Then the rest of the morning will hopefully be spent down by the pool at Bonnet Creek letting DS play and burn off some energy at the splash pad as well so he can take a nice good nap later. :goodvibes

bcsplashpad.jpg

We will probably just have lunch from the pool bar or somewhere at Bonnet Creek for convenience sake, then head up to the room to let DS nap around 1 pm. I'm hoping to let him sleep until he wakes up, which at home can be as late as 3:45 some days when he's really tired. I just want him to be as well rested as possible, even if that means not getting to the park at 4 pm when it opens to party guests. While he is napping, I will likely do a little of the same myself, then get up and get everything ready so we can walk out the door shortly after he gets up. DH and I will have to get our costumes on and I will need a little makeup for mine. I'm hoping to at least be in the park by 5 pm for our first MICKEY'S NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY!!

First order of business will be to grab a quick bite to eat. I'm not sure what we will feel like eating, but I kind of feel like we should grab something from the place nearest the new Princess Fairytale Hall, so probably either Pinocchio's Village Haus or Cosmic Ray's.

I'm hoping one of us can be in line for Rapunzel with Flynn and her "princess friend" that will be greeting with her by 6 pm or a little after. The other can maybe take DS on a couple of rides in Fantasyland to keep him occupied. Not gonna lie, this is priority #1 for myself in particular!

rapunzelflynn.jpg

Hopefully being in line so early, we can get through the meet quickly and not take up too much party time with that one character meet. We will not be going for the princesses with their princes in the second line during the party, because I'm not too worried about meeting those princes. We can see the princesses during normal park hours with a FP instead.

I know everyone says to see the second parade, but since we have a toddler with us, we will be seeing the first parade at 8:15. Everywhere recommends finding a spot 30 minutes ahead of time, and we will probably watch from Frontierland, so I guess whoever didn't wait in line for Rapunzel can be the one to stake out a spot on the parade route while the other takes DS to Woody's Happy Harvest Roundup to dance with the characters.

characterdanceparty.jpg

Then we will check out the Boo to You parade! I have heard nothing but really amazing reviews of this parade, so I'm pretty excited to finally see it in person!

bootoyou.jpg

I'm really debating if we should see the Villains Mix & Mingle after the parade at the 8:50 show. In TR's I've read it doesn't necessarily sound like something we need to do, but DH did think it would be fun to meet Captain Hook after since we will be Peter Pan themed. Still not sure what I want to do, but I don't want to kill myself trying to do it all, and this seems the most expendable.

villainsmixandmingle.jpg

If not, I think the next thing we would do would be to check out the wait for Mickey and Minnie in their costumes. That is the second top priority character meet that I want to do while DS is awake. It seems like the line here is usually not too bad, so hopefully that holds up for us.

mnsshp-mickey-minnie-2012-2.jpg

Then we will be right there near Main Street to catch Celebrate the Magic, followed by HalloWishes!! So excited to see these fireworks!!

hallowishes.jpg

If DS is still awake after the fireworks, I'll probably take him around to meet some other characters or down some trick-or-treat trails until he gives up and falls asleep in the stroller. I'd really like to meet Donald & Daisy in their costumes if at all possible.

daisy-and-donald-mnsshp-2012.jpg

I'm imagining about that time, DH will be still on Main Street setting up his tripod (probably next to DaveInFallsChurch :rotfl:) to get pictures of the second Boo To You parade.

Once DS is tuckered out in his stroller, there won't be much we can do. We are not making rides a priority since there is so much else to do, so we may just trick-or-treat the rest of the night.

trickortreat.jpg

And I'm sure DH will be interested in taking lots of photos, so I'm sure I won't mind pushing DS around and taking it all in while he does that.

If at all possible, though I just don't see where we will fit it in, I'd like to get some of the special PhotoPass photo opportunities. And Dave has volunteered to take our pictures in our costumes, so I know that will have to be sometime at the beginning of the night before DS is knocked out, just not sure when. We will have to play that part by ear, I guess!

I'm not sure if we will make it for the entire party, but I'd like to think DH and I will try to stick it out since it's definitely not cheap! Hopefully we will be able to fit everything in without stressing ourselves (Okay, just me!) out completely and we all have fun. And hopefully DS will not be too whiny or fighting sleep when he just can't go anymore! We will be bringing his ear muffs (although those definitely don't go with his Peter Pan costume ;) ) to help drown out the noise if/when he does fall asleep, so I'm praying for a fun and successful first MNSSHP!

Rapunzel and Flynn are my #1 priority for the Christmas party, so I totally understand.

Boo to You looks amazing from all the pictures I've seen!

Aww, a picture of you all with Captain Hook would be adorable :cutie: but I agree that Mickey & Minnie are a priority.

I've never seen that picture of Donald and Daisy in their costumes! SO cute oh my gosh.

Whoo-hoo!! MNSSHP! Doesn't get much better than that! :woohoo:

I'm sure we'll be able to figure out a time when we can meet up for some pictures. I'll be in the park around 5:00pm as well and was planning on watching the first parade from Frontierland as well and second parade from Main Street. I'm hoping to catch the Villains Mix show right before the first parade.

Flynn is one of the best characters out there so I don't blame ya wanting to brave the lines to see him. His interactions are the best! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to ask him what's in the satchel! I hope I remember.

I totally agree on the parade, everything I have seen looks nothing short of incredible. I'm so excited to finally see it in person. Years ago I watched videos of that and the fireworks on YouTube thinking I might never actually go to a party, and this year I finally am!!

Meeting Captain Hook in our costumes would be so fun, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle and then maybe not even getting a chance for a photo since it's not really a meet & greet. Mickey & Minnie is a must do though!

That's really the only reason I want to meet Donald & Daisy because their costumes are so precious!

Whoo-hoo!! MNSSHP! Doesn't get much better than that! :woohoo:

I know we can't wait, so I'm sure you can't either!!

So it sounds like getting together for the pictures won't be too difficult since we will be in a lot of the same places at the same time. :thumbsup2

I hope I remember to ask Flynn what's in the satchel! :goodvibes

You're right, it shouldn't be too difficult meeting up. We'll figure something out and make sure we exchange cell numbers before heading out to Orlando. :thumbsup2

Yes, definitely need to ask about the satchel!

Your plan sounds very reasonable so I hope you are able to accomplish everything on your list! Flynn is pretty special so I don't blame you for putting him at the highest priority ;)

I also don't know if you saw, but Mickey & Minnie aren't going to be meeting together this year, which is a total bummer :( Mickey will stay at TST and Minnie will be in FL. Now that means an extra line to wait in :sad2: *Edit* Last night they actually were meeting together! I hope it stays like that!

You will love Boo to You! It's hands-down my favorite Disney parade. The music is so awesome and fun, the floats are fabulous, the HM section is incredible.... it's pretty much Halloween parade perfection.

And you'll catch yourself randomly singing the Boo to You song for just about the rest of time. It pops up out of no where :rotfl:

The Boo to You Parade and Hallowishes are amazing! You'll definitely enjoy them. I've heard lots of DISers say that for the cost, the MNSSHP is much better than MVMCP. And while I haven't done the Christmas party (yet) I can say the Halloween event is worth the cost. Even if Paxton falls asleep and misses some of the shows, you'll still enjoy them. :lmao:
The Villians mix and mingle show is cool, but I'd definitely say if you're running behind and need something to cut, that'd be a good choice.

YAY for MNSSHP!!! This really is Disney at it's very best. As much as I love MVMCP, this one is just better.

Eating before the Party is the best decision possible. Plus, there are lots of free snacks.

Boo to You is without a doubt the best Parade Disney has. Honestly, I think the party is almost worth the price just for it. It's that good. Frontierland is a great choice to view, but a little tough to get good photos because it tends to be a little darker.

Yeah, the Villains show, while ok, isn't really a "Must Do". I'd look at it more as something to see after all the other priorities are finished. It's pretty short too.

Sounds like you've got a great handle on the evening!! You're gonna LOVE it!
