We are learning towards All Star Music.
Older but fun loving & healthy couple.
Our children are almost full grown and out of college.
We do not do summer at WDW.
;)Thought of March, April, May, or October, November.

;)We also thought the All Star Music might have less children running around, 2nd bus stop (after Sports, before Movies) and the rooms have better sound proofing then Pop Century.

Now - as to students from Elementary, HS or Colleges who stay at All Stars....:confused3
When does Pop Warner Football come to WDW and stay in the Values?
When does the Cheer Squads come to WDW and stay in the Values?
When do College groups party and stay at the Value resorts in WDW?
Other groups who like to stay in the Values?

When is the quietest time of year to stay in the Value Resorts and which one is best?

We stayed at ASMusic for just one night at the end of a vacation during March. The resort was full of teens from marching bands and cheerleadering/dance teams. It wasn't horrible but if you are trying to avoid large groups I wouldn't stay there during March.

OK - so far my research says
Pop Warner Football in December
Marching Bands in March
Cheer Spirit in April

That leaves us
:confused3 May, October, or November :confused3

When is New Jersey week in October? No offense to NJ, I have cousins and friends who live in NJ.

Found on Mousekeepers:

Jersey Week Usually the first or second week of November. The New Jersey schools have a teachers convention (2013 dates: November 7-8), which is often close to Veterans Day.

Mid-october until Halloween day is the time I prefer. Seems very quiet in the resorts and in the parks. First two weeks of may are nice too.

I think any time in March is very busy.
I think there are many school trips in Late April - Early May.
First week in October could be good, well before Columbus day.
Bands especially stay at Music.
Possibly your best choice could be AOA LM because there are usually no discounts.
Disney is just plain busy these days. There are many group visits, and Disney recruits for the groups to come. Dance, Bands, Sports etc. In July, I was at Sports and there were many foreign tour groups, and they were very polite. In Late April I was at AOA and did not notice any groups, but the Parks were filled with American HS bands, and Senior High School trips.
Early November used to be good, but now they have food and wine, and festival of the masters. Early December is Pop Warner. Maybe right after Veteran's Day but before Thanksgiving would have light crowds?
A pretty slow time to bet on would be after MLK and before Princess Half Marathon if you can go then, but it might be cold.

Have fun!pixiedust:

March/April - Cheer competitions
April - Spring Break
May - School Senior Class trips
October - Halloween and Food and Wine Festival
November - Food and Wine Festival heading into Thanksgiving Holidays.
December - Pop Warner

Really, the only "slow" times are in January/February, except around MLK and President's Day Weekends.

October's become my favorite time to go to WDW. Halloween, Food & Wine, manageable crowds, usually not too hot, but also usually before the major winter refurbs start.

I stayed at AS Music in the Broadway section last October over Halloween and it was very quiet. I was on the back side of building 8, away from pools and major walkways, but the walk to the main building was still 5 minutes or less.

Probably not at the value resorts. January is vacation month in Brazil and possibly other South American countries. The All-Stars will be filled with groups of South American teens.

Beginning of February hosts a large cheer/dance competition.

October may be the best bet - try to avoid Columbus Day.

I have been at WDW during PW at least 7 times, and most of them in the same (value) resort. Please note that I am Childless by Choice and cannot be considered "Kid Friendly." I have NEVER had an issue with PW kids!!! I find them polite, respectful and often pleasantly friendly.

In contrast, I was at WDW this April during Cheer Spirit week and I found the cheerleaders incredibly self absorbed, unaware of others, UNsupervised and often rude. Give me Pop Warner any day!

There is ALWAYS something going on at WDW and to some extent the values will *always* be affected--but to what extent is largely your personal observation and stress points.

I enjoy ASMu so much and stay there at least once a year! I hope you will like it as well.

ANY resort can be very busy at ANY time.

_I_ would avoid the time around any federal holiday, early March to late April, and late December.

Good point!

We have been many times in January and February. Never seen Brazilian tour groups at that time. Tons of cheerleaders at Sports though. I know for certain there is a band trip scheduled for first weekend in April 2014. The groups usually come for a long weekend and clear out on weekdays.

Also, if you pay extra for a preferred room you should be okay. The large groups usually don't stay preferred. Take a fan! We always do.

I told my DH about October - after Columbus Day - before Halloween. JetBlue is less expensive on week days - than weekends.

We can be flexible with our dates - sans kids :goodvibes

This board is wonderful - since we have never experienced the freedom to go to WDW when we want and not bring our DS & DD. They are so jealous of us.
But we said they could start to pay their own way to WDW once they get jobs after college ;)

We also were beckoned by our DS & DD to stay in a Deluxe or Moderate for the space - DS & DD do have their differences.
But... since it just the twp of us, we do not need a fancy pool, or a fancy large room - just a clean bed to sleep in and nice water pressure in the shower :goodvibes

We also love EPCOT and never had the chance to try the Food & Wine Festival - sounds yummy ;)

All Star Music sounds nice to us - we do love Broadway
