Which Disney Resort would you stay in?

We choose frequency over 'perks' so the best choice for our family is Pop Century.

I am helping a friend book a dream vacation and they're throwing caution to the wind and selecting a resort they like and not looking at cost.

Because I don't have any personal experience with Deluxe or even Moderate accommodations it's hard for me to guide her properly.

What are your thoughts and experiences DISboard friends?

PS - My first thoughts are AKL Savannah room or Grand Floridian.

If money was no object I would either book the Poly with a theme park view, or the Contemporary with a theme park view. I've stayed at both, though not in that room type, and they are both great resorts. I do give a slight edge to the Poly as you can watch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the beach/pool area. That is a great way to end the day!:cloud9:

Any grand villa even though there are only 4 of us. That way we could really spreeeeeaaaaadddddd out.

My dream trip would be Grand Floridian theme park view because I could just watch the show from my room every night. My second would be Wilderness Lodge (woods or theme park view). I have priced them both, but couldn't deal with the price difference, so in a moderate we will stay.
PS - If we ever win the Powerball, we are staying in a treehouse villa for a year!

If money were out of the question I would probably book a BLT villa with a theme park view I've see a amazing pictures of those rooms. Otherwise my next choice would probably be a villa at GF or the villas at wilderness lodge because those are always very very expensive. I would also splurge get the deluxe dinning plan as well as everything else upgraded. If only I could win the lottery.

Right now my dream trip would be RPC CL at GF with a theme park view. I've never stayed at GF though we've booked it for next (2014) December (not CL or TPV, but still!!) I've been very lucky to be able to experience many of the resorts, and because GF and YC are the only two deluxes I have not stayed at, those are at the top of my list! :thumbsup2

My favorites so far have been Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club Theme Park View, Boardwalk Innkeepers Club Boardwalk View and Animal Kingdom Grand Villa Savannah View.

I probably enjoyed the Grand Villa the most for the lodging itself, GF RPC because it's the best club level offerings and BWI IC because the location and cast members are the best.

Honestly, either the Polynesian or Grand Floridian. I stayed at the GF with my parents for their 25th anniversary and it was amazing. I loved the whole turn of the century beach vibe. And I've always wanted to stay at the Polynesian... just looks so lush and exotic.

We are thrilled to be at Wilderness Lodge this trip. Wouldn't have happened without the "free" dining promotion.

Polynesian is my favorite and would be my choice. I feel like it's got the most laid back themeing out of all the resorts and the best location. You are in reasonable walking distance to the transportation center so there is no monorail jumping necessary to get to Epcot and MK is one stop there and two on the way back. It is one of those resorts that gives you the real Disney feel while there, which I feel like Contemporary lacked. The beach is awesome to just lounge out as well is the pool is that's your thing. Great food available at O'hana and Capt. Cooks. Stayed at AKL Savannah view which was great equally as great but the location is what killed it for us.

If I could stay anywhere it would be the Polynesian Club Level with a lagoon view.

I am going to buck the trend and say even if money were no object I would choose a longer stay at a moderate. My favorite is PORS but my husband likes CBR and my daughter wants POFQ.

TO me it isn't so much about the hotel because we really don't spend a lot of time there. We only take vacation once a year (a big one anyway) and I would rather stay longer at a moderate than shorter at a deluxe.

I'd have them look over the monorail resorts and pick the one that has the vibe they favor. Of course, theme park view if they can swing it.

For us it is hands down Boardwalk or Beach/Yacht Club- the location cannot be beat- we spend the majority of our vacation at EPCOT/DHS anyway and the nighttime entertainment at Boardwalk is fantastic

I've always wanted to stay at animal kingdom lodge. I've heard you see the animals from the room....maybe even from a balcony in the room
