Questions about EPCOT resorts and transport

Hello. I read in the Unlimited guide to WDW that there was no bus from the Beach Club Villas or Broadwalk Villa's to the front entrance of EPCOT only the gate that you walk through to the showcase. I just wanted to make sure this was true? In which case does this entrance not open until the world show case opens at 11? ( how do you ride Soarin' etc earlier ) and also before you think me lazy I am disabled so it's quite a distance from future world to the attractions in the middle of EPCOT. I would imagine I would need to get a bus to MK then use TTC to get to front of EPCOT? Tia

That gate opens at 9 but you're directed to FW until the WS opens at 11. :)

I've never really found it to be a disadvantage. It doesn't seem much further from the International Gateway to Soarin' than it is from the front gates. Plus, coming through the Int'l Gateway has a lot fewer guests so security goes very quickly and you're not fighting a huge rope drop crowd. It's also lovely to walk through a virtually empty UK and Canada and take photos.

No bus to the front of Epcot. You enter through the international gateway. It's near France. The IG gates open the same time as the front gates. CM's will direct you to the top of Future World. I find the walk from the BC closer than the bus drops. I always tend to get a driver that lets us off at the first spot so we have a long walk to the actual gate.

There is also a boat, but it would not be worth it to go to the Dock which is past the pool and in front of the Yacht Club to catch it. From BC or BCV you are much closer to the Epcot International Gateway. It's a bit of a walk yes, but I agree with PP's there are less people and you can cut over via the Figment area to get to the Land Pavilion. Probably not more than a few minutes more than from the front of the park, but with less crowds and gridlock at opening. Once you get to the the first gift shop on the right at the front of World Showcase take the path on the left rather than going right up the middle. It's just past the Refreshment Port. That path will bring you alongside the Figment building and Soarin is up ahead a little to the right.

Thank you all for your helpful replies and the shortcuts! I can't walk very far as I am disabled but I think I will hire a scooter and use that to get around :-)

That's probably best. No matter which entrance you come in, Epcot is enormous and that's a lot of walking.

Hope you have a great time!

You can take a boat from the hotel to avoid the walk. My Mom got a scooter at the international gateway entrance and it was very easy..and much less crowded than the front entrance. Both France and Canada have quick breakfast/coffee options...and you get to enjoy walking through World Showcase when it's empty. A very enjoyable way to open your day at Epcot..Enjoy it! :)

There are no buses to EPCOT from either resort but don't worry... the walk is not too bad. Walking along the boardwalk, especially at night, is beautiful!

Thanks again for the info. I have ordered a scooter from Apple. Only staying at BC one night rest of the time SSR and AK but wanted to stay at BC longer next year. It's been very helpful the info. Anybody know if scooters are able to board the boat?

Yes, you can take it on the boat. Honestly, it's quicker to just ride to the intl gateway.
