Need suggestions for proposing in Disney this week!

Hey all, about to leave for a 10 day trip to Disney, and decided to propose to my gf while we're there. She thinks this proposal is months away, but the jeweler will have the ring ready by Friday, and we leave Sunday, sooooo, want some ideas as to where/how/etc. I was gonna call our hotel and ask for some help, but this is the best resource to use. So fire away with suggestions. I'm all ears right now. Just want some outside input to help build my decision.

First off, congratulations!!!

Second, tailor it to what you know she likes. If she's a beach kind of girl, watching Wishes on Polynesian's beach would be romantic. If she has a particular favorite character, incorporate meeting that character into it. I would love to be proposed to in front of Mickey

Just to add on to this, if you choose to propose to CRT and want the dessert and such(you can also have the ring delivered in something like an engraved slipper, but I believe they have other options) you must call Disney and book it. Just having an ADR will not be enough. If you book an engagement package with CRT you also get a photopass photographer that takes pictures of the whole thing.

A private boat ride for Wishes sounds good to me! I love scavenger hunts so my dream proposal would be a scavenger hunt planned out for me in the MK ending in a proposal in front of the castle. The mosaics in Cinderella's castle would be a pretty backdrop.

We honeymooned at Disney !!! Loved it, it was our first trip.


I would do as others suggest, tailor it to her.

If she is a beach girl, do Beach Wishes at Poly ...
If she is a princess kinda girl ... CRT would be amazing.

If she is a rollercoaster kinda girl, ask her at the top of Everest when you stop at the broken tracks !

I just saw the coolest proposal in front of the picture mural of Cinderella and her glass slipper on Thursday. Everyone standing around cheered and it made awesome pictures.


My husband and I were just looking through proposal pictures online after our trip and saw one where I guy wore a "will you marry me?" Shirt under his shirt for the day and he lifted it up as they went down the roller coaster hill. When they got to the picture booth at the end of the ride, his fiancé saw it. I thought that was very interesting and different.

Just so you know- this is one of the most crowded areas in the parks. There were photos on a thread here last week of a proposal in exactly this spot- and it was photobombed. If you want a proposal with a photo op with the castle in the background either do it before a pre-park opening breakfast or after the park officially closes at night. Or over in the Rose Garden, where there's less traffic. Down at the old Swan Boats dock would be even more private.

I love the idea of proposing while watching Wishes from Sunset Pointe at the Poly. It's a very romantic spot.

Congratulations. I proposed at DLR and surprised her by doing it sooner than she expected. Wherever you choose that spot will be special to you both forever. We did it fairly privately in front of the park gates, but a few other people saw and congratulated us. If you think she'd want a bigger deal made of it, I am sure you can coordinate with Disney and make sure someone is there to photograph it, but there could be a cost and you won't get to be as spontaneous with it. I'd say find a place you know she likes, and turn it into a place she will love. Congratulations and good luck!

Don't forget the boardwalk area either. There is an actual wedding gazebo type place that they have weddings at that overlook the water there. There are quiet off the beaten places at AK too. IS there a favorite resort she loves.....a memorable one....maybe there. A fave restaurant? Does she have a favorite park?? The fountains at EC at night are pretty....especially when everyone is watching Illuminations. I bet the fountain area would be nice and private unless you want an audience. I like the Poly idea too. You could find some quiet places at several of the resorts....outside. The rose garden is an excellent idea. I would probably opt for the end of the night...in front of the castle. Especially if you can wait to most people have moved from that area. Have fun! Congrats! Oh and my dd said she would love to be proposed to by her BF somewhere on the world showcase during Illuminations.

My perfect Disney proposal? Somewhere quiet and just the two of us. A beach, a quiet area of the park...maybe overlooking Rivers of America late at night, just before park closing when it's quiet, the fireworks are going off, and it's peaceful.

There are beautiful gardens all over...find a nice secluded one (if you think she would prefer more intimate) and say something sweet

I never got a proposal - we were young, broke, and just pretty much agreed to get married. Sometimes I wish I had gotten the whole shebang...

Blend in with the animatronic kids on "It's a Small World" and send her on it alone. When the boat comes by, pop the question.

Send her on the Haunted Mansion alone, and pop up in the attic near the bride to pop the question.

Send her on the Jungle Cruise alone, climb the totem poll and shout the question when the boat goes by.

Send her on The safari alone, ride up on a giraffe and pop the question.

Fly down with tinker bell during the fireworks screaming the question.

Thanks all. Awesome suggestions! We leave this Sunday the 11th, and are there until Tuesday the 20th. We're staying at All Star Movies. The first day when we get there we always just go swimming and relax. I was thinking about doing this on Monday the 12th. My first idea was to do this over at the Polynesian Resort after dinner at Ohana, and somewhere private on the beach with the water and torches in the back, but now I'm thinking about doing it where I can get someone nearby to take my camera and snap away by the castle. I LOVE surprising her. Today I drove an hour and half to Ocean City NJ just to go to a store and get her the dress she liked that she bought the last time we were there a few weeks ago, but it had gotten ruined. 3 hour road-trip just to show up at her work and surprise her. I'm on vacation, so I had all day.

She really LOVES Beauty and the Beast, so maybe I'll do it in the new section that recently opened. I love all of these ideas. It's definitely got me running a million scenarios through my mind! Thank you all! #kcco

One of the best spots in MK is the Plaza Rose Garden - perfect view of the castle behind you, but the crowds are way less obvious (bushes and trees kind of obscure them).

It's such a great photo spot that Disney almost ALWAYS has a photopass photographer at the entrance (as quoted by Disney Guest Services). If you're able to tip off the photographer beforehand he or she can let you inside the gate and onto the grass!

My brother just proposed last week this way. We said we wanted a big group photo and the photographer played into it SO well, saying she couldn't fit us all into the frame since there were 9 of us, so she was going to let us onto the grass. So we all posed, got some shots, then as we started to break up and walk away, he grabbed her hand and got down on one knee.

Then we'd gotten some pixie dust from Bibbidi Boppity Boutique for the kids to throw on them (it was a mess, but great!). You can also get some at the Barber Shop on Main St. (we just took our own baggie and asked if we could have a little for the surprise coming up.)

The photog said she'd been hoping to get to do a proposal that day and she was glad we'd approached her to give her some warning. She said lots of people kneel down on the path, but if she knows ahead of time she can let them on the grass.

Oh, and THEN we had the wedding Mickey and Minnie hats that we'd ordered earlier with Mr. and Mrs.---(last name)--- embroidered on them, so they were waiting afterwards. It provided a nice option to go and pick them up, instead of milling around like, 'uhh, now what'.
