Desserts

1) Are there any "have to try" desserts at the buffet and/or restaurants?
2) Is there an area for ice cream with toppings that you can choose? I read that there are sundae toppings but I haven't seen any photos of someone's ice cream with toppings. Also are the frozone treats complimentary or is it extra?

Well, I've already posted my favorite desserts. Grand Marnier soufflé, warm chocolate lava cake, and Palo chocolate soufflé. Beyond that, I will get almost any of the crème brulee desserts. And in Animator's Palate I liked the Buckled Warm Apple Crumble.

The ice cream area (at leas on the classic ships) is just 2 soft serve ice cream machines, with cups and cones (when available). Sometimes they had chocolate syrup you could put on the ice cream.

There are great desserts at the Cove cafe all the time. Chocolate covered strawberries, tartlets, cake, bars. All bite sized so you'll need 2-3 at a time.

And of course there is the mango (and, if you are lucky, the coconut/pinapple) soft serve.

I know drinks at Cove Cafe cost extra. Do the food goodies?

Buckles Warm Apple Crumble sounds so good.
Ahh that's what they probably meant online on the DCL website. Did you try the smoothies at frozone(as it says on DCL website that they have them)?

This tip will help ---- DO NOT TAKE THE ELEVATORS!!! Stairs everywhere!!! I know, I know, all dressed up for dinner - I can understand not taking the stairs then.

My deck 2 to deck 9 stair climb "chant" goes: "eat more deserts, eat more deserts...."

Love this... I am SO going to use that chant trodding up those stairs :rotfl::hug:

Has anyone heard of the "Kiss Goodnight"?
We sailed on the Dream earlier this month and one night in the MDR our meal was delayed (no big deal to us) but our server felt bad so he brought us all one of each dessert on the menu plus what he called a "Kiss Goodnight". It was small cubes of sugared Mango and cubes of something like a chocolate fudge. It was really good but I've never seen it on a menu.

Do you have to pay for those?

When they have french macarons as a garnish (this is on the Dream), you can ask for just a plate of macarons. YUMMMMMMMM. I mean, not as Yum as Lauderee but still, YUM.
