I'm sorry if this is redundant but I haven't found the answer combing through this thread. We're staying for the first time at the Beach Club villas (one bedroom). Usually we do 2 separate rooms at the Yacht club.
I see that there is a coffee maker. Do we bring our own coffee? Is there milk available for purchase in the lobby? We're using Magical Express from MCO, not stopping anywhere.
Also, no robes are provided, correct?

Very nervous about this choice, as we have 2 teens and will be sharing one bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not stayed in the villas but I do know there are all sorts of groceries that can be bought at the market place including milk. In the past, I've had things like OJ and milk delivered to the resort. I have 3 teens with us sharing one bathroom. Takes coordination but we do it. Some take showers in the pm, some in the am. In case of an emergency someone can use a bathroom in the lobby. Good luck!

Yacht and Beach Clubs ... see my previous post. Rest of refrigerators that need replaced are due to arrive at resort today or tomorrow. Right now, the fifth floors are done on both sides and the rest of the resorts ... there are over 200 that are due to arrive today and tomorrow and it will take at least two weeks to replace.

Yippee! We are staying at Yacht club for the first time on Aug.21, looks like we might just have a fridge! :)

There is a ten cup coffee maker in the villa that takes a basket filter. I always brought my own filters and coffee, enough for our length of stay. But I believe they do provide some coffee, enough for a pot or two. You can pick up some bags of sugar and individual creamers in the Marketplace. They also have a lot of food items in the Marketplace, things like milk, bread, bacon, frozen food, etc.

We really liked staying in the villas. It is really to have a full kitchen, even if you only use it for breakfast and snacks. :)

Guess what! I got the call at 4:30 and we are at the hospital waiting for a baby ! So excited .

Yay!!! Now adding items to Garden Grocer

See you Sunday!

Guess what ! We are at the hospital waiting for a little princess to be born. Got the call at 4:30 .

Thanks Teena! Looks like we should have a fridge in time for our arrival!

A few things are putting us off. Elliott Dyson is no longer at Scatcats. Changes to the foodcourt menus. I think the rooms look really dark with the new covers and the 70's carpet. And, there are now only 3 drawers for clothes!! - great if you are only staying a few days, but us Brits come for weeks. A move to Yacht will also give us the DDP rather than the QSDP and now that DD is older (she will be 10 next trip) she is happier to enjoy a nice meal around EPCOT rather than going to DTD on the boat.

We are excited about our YC stay soon! 12 nights  We have stayed at BC, loved it! So looking forward to trying YC :upsidedow

I was curious about your not liking the new rooms, cause we just had a 10 day stay there in Jan. and thought the new rooms were great. Room wasn't dark at all. We had enough room, but it was just 2 of us, me & adult daughter :).
For moderates we also like POR.

You must have different packages, cause we have gotten the DDP with POR, or FQ, not the QSDP.

This seems to be our year for trying out sister resorts, with POFQ in January and YC in August!

Leaving for Florida in under 2 weeks :woohoo: going to enjoy some :beach: beach time in Ft Lauderdale first before heading up for a oouple of weeks at wdw! Luggage is out!

Anyone else have a hard time keeping up with this thread :surfweb: :lmao: ??? Seems like if I dont review every few hours, I am a couple of pages back already  :rotfl2: .

Exactly! We were up in Disney (offsite) last weekend and finally got around to catching up since that Thursday, had from 67 to 120 pages to go through! Don't want to miss any good info. It was so cool visiting BC and talking with mgt about the rooms 2 months ago, then this last trip every time we passed the sign, we knew, 2 weeks more and that's home! Saw the Police cover band and walked around Epcot, every time saying 2 weeks, that's home.

Congrats Teena on the award! With all the bad stuff on the news, it is great to hear the good stuff. And to all who volunteer, you may not get an award, but we all know we are awarded every day with the positive changes we make in society! Keep it up!

We'll be checking in on the 8th, so I'll do my best to drag the family with me to meet up with you (or it'll be just me).

Time4Diz & Isaboo - Thanks for posting the pics of the magic bands box. Our AP expire just after the new year. We hope to be getting upgraded AP bands just before then as we're not sure on renewal yet (kid's school requirements) and they'd be a cool memento. I even like the box, incredibles are great.

I am a bit nervous about going to BC and CL. I think I am going to like it too much that I will not be able to do anything else! This thread does wonders for getting you ready.

Loved the question game, gotta play with that "elevator" when we go there.

and WAHOO on the baby!

Hi everyone!

My mom and I returned from our trip over a week ago...we had a great stay at the Yacht Club, and I was super impressed with the Conference Center! I wrote a blog post about our thoughts, but the summary is we absolutely loved it!

We've previously stayed at Coronado, and the rooms themselves were very similar (of course the YC rooms are bigger). We booked a Standard with the conference rate, and when checking in we noticed it said Pool/Lagoon View. We had room 1079, and it gave us a great side view of the Lighthouse out on the lagoon. Check in was a breeze, our KTTW cards worked perfectly with tap to pay, and all the cast members we encountered were great. We really enjoyed Beaches & Cream and Yachtsman (and I thought the conference food was unbelievable...I was really blown away)!

Of course what can't be beat is the location. Epcot is our favorite park, and it was great to be a short walk away. We had no issues with long waits for busses when we went to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom (from the Yacht Club anyway. We waited nearly 45 minutes for an AK bus from AKL after breakfast one morning, for the 3rd year in a row).

We loved the resort, and if budget allowed we'd be there for all of our trips. As an educator in NC..that just isn't going to happen all the time for me though :) I can't complain though, because I will be at the BC for the TOT 10 Miler in October, so I can't wait to compare the two!

If you're interested in reading or seeing pics from the blog post I wrote, here is the link... http://onegirlandtwodogs.blogspot.com/2013/07/disneys-yacht-club-short-review.html

Thank you all for this informative thread! It really helped us not feel "lost" while figuring out a new resort!

Thanks for the great review and blog!!! Really great overview of your trip. Would you mind if I linked your blog post to the section on Page 2 with the trip reports?

:goodvibes

All, just want to say thanks to all of the useful information on this board. We will be at the Yacht Club CL from 8/17-8/25.

We are participating in the Magic Bands and Fast Pass+ trial as well. For those in the trial right now, the one tip I would offer if you are making changes to existing Fast Pass+, try both options: Change all (start from scratch) and Change existing (when you change either one experience or time), I have found out that different choices come up for the same day and same park. I was finally able to get FP+ to Illuminations and Fantasmic, which seem to be the hardest ones to get on a daily basis.

:welcome: to this forum and to the DIS!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1 of this thread.

:cool1:

Thanks for sharing your experience with changing the reservations/FPs with your Magic Bands.

:thumbsup2

I've been reading for a while now, and trying to figure out who TeenaS is, finally I find out! A greeter at BC, am I correct? I'll be there in 37 days! Can't wait! Maybe I'll see you!

There's some pictures and more info about Teena on Page 2 of this thread (Lily's Pad), if you want to "meet her" before you meet her.

:wave2:

Hi does anyone have an email for the Y&BC private dining?

BUMP!

Hi everyone! :wave2:

I was on this thread quite a few pages back, but it moves fast!

How late is Beaches and Cream open? Like if we wanted a burger later in the evening? And is it easier to get a seat if you are willing to sit at the counter?

Staying at Beach Club 10/1 - 10/10 October 2014 - long way away, I know, but I can have fun planning until then! :thumbsup2

Thanks for clarifying. I had you on the list for this October. I'll make the change.

:)

Hi, when we stayed at BC in a GV CL room in May it was a handicapped room. We were fine with it but I'm just curious how is it different then a regular room would have been? It was our 1st time staying at BC. Thanks!

Do you remember what room number that was?

Not sure what the differences are. I'll be posting pictures from my BC room sometime in the next week or so.

:)

That is really pretty!

:goodvibes

thank you all for all the great info on this thread! i really do try to keep up but it moves so fast. we arrive for our first stay there in less than three weeks- we can't believe how close it is! we know we will love it! we changed our res to CL and are very excited about that, as well.

I'll make the change to your info on the BOG list

:thumbsup2

Hi All, booked a one bedroom in August at the BC. Could anyone recommend a good room, preferably with a nice view. Also, did you like the one bedroom?

Thanks !!!

:welcome: to this thread and to the DIS!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

Views are nothing to write home about in the BCV from what I have read. Some of the upper floors with views of EPCOT can be nice, though.

What are some of the other areas you like to request, BCV experts?

:)

When is your trip?

Guess what! I got the call at 4:30 and we are at the hospital waiting for a baby ! So excited .

Please let us know when you become Auntie Couchy!

Looks like the YC & BC will be full of diser's (is this a word) in August!!! Looks like Teena will have a lot of company.

I know this is way early, can you add my name for Nov 14-22, 2014 for YC CL.
