Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice as i have never stayed on site.

My boyfriend and i will be moving from idrive to POFQ for the last 6 days of out holiday. We wont have a car so will be getting a taxi.

What is the earliest we can check in? If we arrive before check in will disney store our luggage some where until the room is ready.

I would like to go to hollywood studios this day but would like to get there for rope drop. What time would you recommend we leave idrive to give us time to get to disney check in and get the bus to hollywood studios?

I think this is a day the park is open late so we plan to spend the morning in the park, hopefully get on toy story mania as the queues were always too long last yr head back to the resort in the afternoon have dinner at DTD then go back to hollywood studios for the 9.30pm fantasmic show.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

You can check in as early as 6 or 7 AM. If your room isn't ready (sometimes it is, if it hadn't been occupied the night before), Bell Services will keep your luggage. You can leave a cell phone number and they'll text you when your room is available.

When you return to the resort, you can either pick up your luggage or call Bell Services from your room to deliver it. Note that Bell Services won't deliver unless you're in your room.

Enjoy!

WE were just at the POFQ for the last 3 days. We are now at the Poly. I did online check-in and checked the box that the most important thing was that my room was ready at 730 am when I got there. It was ready as soon as we got there. I had no preference as to location since POFQ is pretty small and easy to walk around! We were at the MK by opening! Good luck!:)

As PPs have said, earliest you can check in is 6am and yes they will store your luggage. While it's possible, I wouldn't expect your room to be ready that early.

If you want to make rope drop at DHS, you'll want to be on the bus by 7:45am at the latest IMO (assuming DHS opens at 9am). DHS has been letting people in 15-20 minutes before official opening. You'll be near the back of the line at this time, but in my own experience, there wasn't too bad of difference between being at the front of the line vs at the back of the line.

I've never traveled from International Dr to WDW, but I'd probably leave there by 6:30 to give yourself ample time to get to your resort and get checked in. The earlier you leave there, the earlier you can get to the resort and check-in, and get on the bus to DHS.

Thanks for the info.

Will we be able to get our KTTW card as soon as we check in?

I dont mind if the room isn't ready we will get showered and ready for a day at the parks before we leave idrive.

Just want to get to HS as early as possible to get some of the rides we didnt get a chance to do last year then head back to the hotel to go to the pool in the afternoon.

We have an adr for raglan road that evening then would like to go back for fantasmic.

Your kttw card will be available as soon as you check in and if you leave your cell phone number they will text you your room number.

What time is your dinner at raglan road? Reason I ask is that you will need time to get back to the resort to get a bus to DHS and people tend to get in line really early to get the best seats. There are no buses from DTD to any of the parks.

Our past two trips we arrived before noon and our rooms were ready. It may be because we did the on-line check-in which asks for you estimated arrival time. I would always do the on-line check-in - at least you won't have to wait forever with everyone else!

And that's the key to possibly getting your room early. On line check in doesn't mean anything when it comes to getting a room early. I had one request last time and the room wasn't ready until after 2:00. Other times, I've had no requests and we've moved right in once we got there - same arrival times.

6.45pm we have checked online and there is two shows that night we are planning on going to the 9.30pm show. Do you think we will have enough time?

Frankly, I think it will be tight. IF you get seated on time, which isn't always guaranteed, you will be getting done around 8pm. Since there are no buses direct to parks from DTD, so you would need to bus to a resort THEN transfer to a DHS bus. For a 9:30 show, people will be lining up at 8:30, if not earlier. The fastest way to get back to DHS would be a cab but if you don't want to do that, I would probably catch a bus to Swan/Dolphin and then boat or walk to DHS from there. Keep in mind that buses from DTD aren't always the quickest to catch.

If you don't mind standing in the standing room only section for Fantasmic, it's not as bad as people think. We actually opt to do this now so we aren't stuck in the middle of a row and can make a quick exit as the show starts to wind down. Last trip, we found there was standing room only left about 25 minutes prior to the start of Fantasmic. I'm not sure what the chances are of the theater reaching capacity.

If I were you, I'd try to get an ADR in DHS that night, or at one of the Epcot area resort hotels like YC/BC or Boardwalk. Staying in the area will make it quicker and easier to get back in time for good seats for Fantasmic.

Thanks for your advice.

We wouldnt mind standing. Think we will keep the adr as it is and if we dont have time we will go see fantasmic another night.

Looking forward to staying onsite for the first time :)

Good idea! We like Fantasmic, but if we have a good ADR like Raglan Road, we'd rather do that ourselves as well!

Yes I was going to say it would be tight. Your looking at say 20mins on the boat back to POFQ which you might have to add on time to wait same goes for getting a bus, the boat from swan/dolphin takes time as well. Overall fastest would be to get a cab.

Last time we were at raglan road it was at least 20mns after our ADR until we were seated and the food took a while as well. Excellent food and we enjoyed the dancers (a coupe even got engaged while we were there)
