Hello all,

I did not see a meet board for this cruise yet and we just changed our cruise to this sailing. It will be our second cruise on Disney Fantasy and looking forward to it.

Anyone booked on this cruise? DD has fall break and we are contemplating this date!

Yes we are booked on this cruise. I can't say for sure this won't change to a different date in October when all is said and done, but at that moment that's our cruise for 2014.

Have either of you cruised in October before? We've been on a 5 night in June and will be on a 5 night this Thanksgiving. Looking forward to a 7 nighter!!

We have! We were on the Fantasy last October 20-27th. It was wonderful. Five beautiful days, then Hurricane Sandy made the last few days...ummm...interesting. It was our first cruise, and we sure have stories to tell. Most good! With the discount we received because of the problems due to Sandy, we have booked the same itinerary and are trying AGAIN! But not in October. In May 2014. We figure we can handle anything aboard ship now! And hoping to make to Castaway Cay this time! You will LOVE The Fantasy!

No. Our last cruise was an 8 night on the Magic in February.

I did get trip insurance just because the whole hurricane thing makes me nervous.

I'm hoping to be. ;)

I cruised in October 2011. LOVED every second of it. First night was pretty rough- unable to pull out of port due to weather but after that it was just downright fantastic. Loved it so much I'm willing to do it again. I always vacation in October.

We booked this cruise! Myself, husband and daughter Morgan (she'll be 11 when we sail) are super excited!!

Hi! I started one a couple weeks back, but it hasn't been added to the cruise list yet. I requested that they combine our threads and post on the main page.

We are booked on this cruise...me, DH and DD 11 when we sail. Looking forward to meeting everyone!!

We were on the fantasy the beginning of October 2012 and loved our experience. We do prefer the eastern Caribbean itinerary. This is our second Disney cruise and I am pretty sure we are sticking with this voyage. I have been on other cruises in in October as well and didn't have N issue. I already cannot wait for beaches of castaway cay. This cruise our boys will be 4 and celebrating their 5th birthday on the cruise.

This will be my first time on the Fantasy; second Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Booked this while onboard the Eastern Transatlantic. Nice to have something to look forward to!

My traveling party is myself and my husband. We are in our mid-30s. No kids.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list pixiedust:
Have a great cruise!

It's official! We are booked, room 6512. It will be me and my 2 boys (15 & 9). C-A-N-N-O-T W-A-I-T. Now I hope the next 472 days go by quick. :hourglass

Do you guys mind if we join in? We just transferred our booking to this sailing! We had been booked on the last week of August 2014 to Alaska but decided for a variety of reasons to take an upgrade in staterooms and swap to this sailing. Save the Alaska trip for when the kids are slightly older.
We've never sailed on the Fantasy or the Dream, so that's a big change.
Do we have a facebook group for this cruise, or are we keeping all communications on disboards?
Anyway, excited to start the countdown for this cruise!
:goodvibes

Right now we only have this thread as I understand it. I think a facebook group would be a good idea as well.

I know you weren't asking me, but I've cruised a three night over the last of September beginning of October, Thanksgiving week, February and April with an upcoming January before this one.
Very first cruise- September/October2010-some rough seas the first night leaving Port Canaveral (leftovers from a tropical depression). DH thought it was funny to watch me walk down the halls in (very) high heels swaying all over the place. We both figured out we weren't prone to seasickness. Nassau-beautiful weather in the morning, late afternoon thunderstorm. Castaway Cay- nice warm water, perfect temperature to layout at Serenity Bay.
Second cruise-Thanksgiving week-warm/nice for sailaway party, pretty nice the rest of the week, chilly on the last afternoon and cold on debarkation. Wish I'd packed the kids sweaters.
Third cruise-February nice/cool for sailaway chilly half of first and half of last day. Very warm in Cozumel.
April-hot for sailaway, cold water at Castaway Cay, but really warm air. Torrential downpours/warm in Key West. Pleasant for debarkation.
Really, I'm not that concerned about the weather anymore than I would be if I'm staying home (Houston area, so we do the hurricane preparedness thing).
I think October is nice as the kids have had a month or so to settle into school, the water will probably be warm and we book our flights/etc. through Disney and get trip insurance just in case.
