ok, due the changes the last few years in the ddp i really dont think its worth wasting the credits on bfast (other than the odd snack cinnamon roll or cream cheese pretxel:thumbsup2)

we are staying at okw so have a full kitchen and would like to experience classic easy american bfasts so what do you suggest i buy from walmart??? i will get frozen french toast sticks and frozen waffles as my kids love those but any other quick easy suggestions??? (and im on vacation, so really dont care if its dreadfully unhealthy lmao!!) a few litres of OJ and coffee and we ll all be happy!!

so any suggestions?

thanks

Bagels and cream cheese, English muffins with butter and jam, Pop-tarts, donuts. Cereal with milk and fruit is a tad healthier if you go whole grain. Or if you want to cook: eggs and bacon.

Besides maybe doing a character breakfast, like Crystal Palace, I usually stick to a CS breakfast, or snack. If I were going to bring something quick in the room to make, I'd probably pick up things at the store like bagels & cream cheese, pop-tarts, milk & cereal. Plus, I've met British people in the parks who buy a surplus of brightly colored cereals that you don't get to normally buy back home (I think they loved Fruit Loops) .. so eating those might be a fun change.

We find we go much longer if we add a little protein. Grab some bagels and a pack of sliced ham, and cheese and create a quick bangle sandwich. Add a egg if your want to take a bit more time. A pack or two of pre-cooked bacon, a pack of pre-boiled eggs, some brown and serve sausage with some nice rolls. We have peanut allergies but if not, a jar of peanut butter to add to bagels or toast is easy too. Encourage milk to drink, or Chocolate milk as well.

Here's a few ideas...

Milk & cereal- could go healthy or since its vacation go with the good tasting sugary stuff (Froot Loops, Lucky Charms, Capt Crunch, etc.).
Bagels and cream cheese.
If you are looking for protein, grab some eggs and bacon or sausage. If going for ease, you could get some frozen meat, egg and cheese microwavable sandwiches or bowls.
If you don't care about the health aspects and want something fun... maybe some frozen pigs in a blanket? Jimmy Dean makes pancake covered sausage on a stick, yummy and easy to eat (no plates or forks required).

Since you mention "classic, easy AMERICAN breakfast" and Walmart....I would also grab some frozen breakfasts sandwiches. Jimmy Dean is a good brand and has some variations. If you just look in the frozen breakfast section at Walmart, you'll find all kinds of things to try. My kids also like the sausage on a stick wrapped in a pancake. Don't forget to grab some syrup!

omg, these sausages wrapped in pancakes that you speak of, are they in the freezer section or chiller?? deff going to get some of those lmao!!

DD loves bagels so will get some of those and some philly cheese.. didnt know u could buy pre cooked bacon! wow, you guys live in a diff world lmao!! and we love aunt jemimas syrup, bring gallons of the stuff back so will get some for room too... as well as grape jelly and PB.. cant get grape jelly here either!!

thanks guys ur all awesome:grouphug:

They are in the freezer section. There are also breakfast bowls with meat, egg, and pancakes. There are tons of choices for breakfasts in the freezer section. For a treat we like toaster pastriesn not at all vgood for you but yummy.

In this kitchen, do you have pots/pans? If so, I'd buy some bisquick and syrup and make pancakes and bacon :)

If you are staying in a 1BR, you'll have a full kitchen. Please don't rely on frozen food from Walmart...that's not even real food. Ugh. As much as you can, make your own food...especially if you are going to a grocery store in advance.
Eggs/cheese/bagels/English muffins/bread are my staples for breakfast. Since you will have a full kitchen, you can buy your own meats rather than eating the frozen, pre-packaged variety.

How about Pop Tarts? You can either pop them in a toaster or as I say eat them raw...great flavors and fun colors for the kids (depending on how old they are).

Frozen Toaster Strudel, great flavors (Raspberry is wonderful) and they come with little icing packets you drizzle on after they have been toasted.

Both of those are not very filling. So you might want to look at some of the frozen breakfast sandwhichs. Jimmy Dean makes great egg, cheese and "breakfast meat (bacon, sausage, ham) sandwhichs that might be a little filling. Pop them in the mircrowave.

You could always do cold cereal. Let the kids pick out something they can't get at home. Suggestions - Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms...just a few of my favorites.

I believe the pre-cooked Jimmy Dean pork sausage links and pre-cooked bacon are in the not frozen, luncheon meat section. These aren't bad and are really easy to fix in the microwave. The frozen food area which may be 3 or 4 aisles, will probably have a breakfast section with many choices.

Bagels should be in the bread aisle. Butter, milk and cream cheese will be in the dairy area.

Just read the instructions on how to prepare the item and they are very easy to fix and most things aren't bad at all.

The Jimmy Dean Delights (250 calories) are listed as being in the frozen food section - states on the box must keep frozen. But I have seen some in the lunch/deli meat section (near hot dogs, breakfast meats and pre-sliced lunch meat).

However Walmart and many grocery stores do a great job of labeling the sections of their frozen food department. You should be able to spot the breakfast area.

Bagels can be sold in both the dairy case and bread aisle..the bread aisle may have more of a selection.

Oh my toaster strudel sounds wonderful we have to try that. My kids would disown me if I didn't buy lucky charms when we go to the USA. I did think about mixing up my pancake mix at home and just adding eggs and milk in the room and frying but I decided I didn't think putting white powder in my case was a sensible idea.

It is so inexpensive I wouldn't bother. You can get a box of the mix for just a few dollars. For an easy hot breakfast you could try some of the heat and serve iced cinnamon rolls. They have some in the refrigerated biscuit section (near the butter) that need to be baked on a cookie sheet and some frozen ones in the freezer section that come in a foil pan. So yummy!

wow ty ty ty for all the amazing ideas!! we re going to end up spending hours in walmart lmao! last time we brought yogurts and cheese cubes, milk oj and ham with bread for toast and whipped butter so not very exciting stuff! next time will be much better!! hubby now has a shopping list !

and this is only a quick keep em going til lunch guys - i appreciate its not the heathiest food but my kids will be the ones chosing salads not fries and/or having fruit instead of cookies, they eat healthy by choice so the odd "bad" breakfast wont kill them;)

-pop tarts
-yogurt
-bagels w/ cream cheese
-english muffins w/ jam
-cereal
-waffles
***Jimmy Dean makes really yummy microwavable sausage, egg and cheese biscuits that you can keep in your freezer
***Sister Shubert brand frozen sausage rolls-they're little cocktail sausages w/ a nice bread around them....just throw them in the oven-the same company also make a wonderful cinnamon roll
-Fruit smoothies
-cinnamon toast

Yeah, if you're game to cook, get a box of Bisquick. Make some Bisquick biscuits and have with butter & jelly or honey. Get a box of the Jimmy Dean precooked sausage patties and brown them up in a skillet (love those! they should be in the refrigerator case with the lunch meats, etc.).

Froot Loops and Cap'n Crunch are my favorites of the "fun" cereals.
