Best room options for party of 9?

What is the best and most economical way to stay on property with a party of 9? It seems difficult to find any villas available even for more than a year out. We would like to have a more immersive resort and we are not opposed to two rooms close together if that would be the best way. Thanks!

BLT next to CR and AKV next to AKL - both will allow 9 in a 2-bedroom - they both have a 2nd bathroom

OKW also allows 9 - but has only 2 bathroom - it is the biggest space wise of the three.

these are DVC resorts - so would look for availability at 7 months or call and ask them when they expect some.

or you can rent a reservation thru a DVC member.

now if you want inexpensive 3 rooms at Pop or any of the value resorts. now only 2 of the rooms will connect (if any) - not all 3.

Are any of your group under the age of 3? In that case you could do just 2 rooms with the child in a pack and play.

You could do 3 rooms at any level of resort
You could do one family suite and a regular room at ASMu or AoA.

You could do 2 rooms at POR and many of the deluxe resorts.

It really depends on the makeup of your party. Is this one family with 2 adults and 7 children? How old are the children? All adults? If you have multiple rooms do you have to have 2 connecting rooms?

It really depends on the makeup of your party.

Agreed. If you have at least one in your party that is a smaller child, then your most economical option would likely be two rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. You could request for the rooms to be connecting or adjoining if you wish. POR has rooms that sleep five, but the bed for the fifth person is a smaller murphy bed that is really suited for a child.

Edited to add: Just out of curiousity I crunched some numbers, and depending upon when you are traveling, it looks like 3 rooms at one the of the All Stars might come in a little less expensive than 2 rooms at POR. Personally, I'd take the 2 rooms at a moderate over the 3 rooms at a value, but it would depend upon the make up of your party and how much space you think you'll need.

Yes, one of the party will be 2. Five children under 10 and 4 adults. We were actually thinking two adjoining rooms at POR might be best. How hard is it to get the rooms adjoining? The kids are really going to want to be able to go back and forth and I prefer they not have to go outside to do it. Thanks so much for the input!!

"Adjoining" just means next to each other or across the hall. "Connecting" has the door in between.

You can request it but it's not guaranteed.

We just did two connecting rooms at POR in May. We had 7 adults and 1 teenager (who wanted to sleep on the pull down!). Originally, we had 9 people but 1 had to drop out last minute. We got connecting rooms with no trouble even though they were pretty full the week we were there.

If you do POR, when you make your reservation, either call or call after making it online, and have them note you want "connecting" rooms. Have them specifically note how many young children you have under 10 also. I checked into the resort early (8am) and our connecting rooms were already set up in the system.

For what its worth, connecting rooms were probably the only part of our reservation we did not have issues with! In the end they had to cancel our reservation halfway through and then rebook it (kept us in same rooms and everything though) and covered breakfast for 9 at the Captains Grill. So in the end, we were happy with the resort.

It is because you are more than a year out you are having difficulty with Villas as they don't open up until 11 months. I would do am2 bedroom at Kidani or BLT

I think you can get 3 rooms at the all star sports for about the cost of 2 rooms at a moderate. Actually I would elect for 2 rooms at a moderate, but it's an option to look into for the family.
